door over the bathroom area in the cabin
so I've got some uh one by eights here
that I want to use
to frame up that door so what I'm going
to do is I'll figure out the center and
I'll split these and uh we'll use those
boards to create the frame

so I got uh
I got it the first coat of stain on this
and uh this is going to be the door
for the bathroom area of the cabin
still a little transparent right now but
uh
we'll get this filled in
soon as this dries
then I'll be able to fill it with these
uh slats right here
[Music]
I still need to chamfer the edge of
these I'm going to wait until the uh
the stained rise here I probably should
have chamfered these before I stained it
but uh
that's what I do
so anyway I'll wait for this to dry
and I'll chamfer those slats and I'll be
able to install them
from the back side
so the stain will be facing out
and then I'll reinforce the back
okay all right
this is dry to the touch
I've actually got dry to the touch
pretty fast only took about an hour
it's not completely cured though
I have to do that overnight so I've just
got it laying on top of the slats
so this is uh what my door is going to
look like
so the slats will be running
vertically
where the wall slats are all horizontal
and these were all
cut from the same
piece of plywood so there's no variation
in the slats
but uh
doing the variation when you've only got
a couple of cross beams here it's pretty
difficult
um you know I wanted to make this you
know pretty stable so
I decided to just go the easy route and
uh just cut everything out of the same
board with the same uh color of stain
so that's what it's going to look like
tomorrow I'll get on this and I'll get
it attached and then we'll put some
some frame members on the back side as
well
all right there's the back side
of the door
let me flip it over and we'll take a
look at the side that
The public's gonna see
[Music]
all right there she is
[Music]
I will be putting the hardware on the
door
at the cabin
and uh I still have some areas
where it's going to be touched up
like along the top here you can still
see a little bit of
[Music]
a little bit that did not get some stain
and then on the side here as well
but uh
I'm not sure if I'm going to put some of
these boards underneath
um
on top you'll notice that I did my rails
and styles where the Styles run the
entire length and the rails just kind of
fill in the gap
but because my boards my slats are
running this way
um
it would tend to go like this
except on the back side I ran my rails
the length
as you can see here
and that does where it gets all of its
stability from and I might throw some
Styles in between here I'm still trying
to decide if I want to do that or not
and I haven't decided what I want to do
with this back
if I want to stain it
paint it or just put some finish on it
and leave it natural
I haven't figured that out yet but uh
this is certainly
to a point where I can install it and
that was the goal
because I need to pack this up
and get on the road
head back to the cabin
so that's going to do it for this video
talk to you guys later
