DIY Off-Grid Cabin Build - Episode 12

all right this is daryl and uh welcome to the woodhaven um i've been i'm back at the property i've been working for about 20 minutes or so and what i'm working on is installing my blocking in between the raptors i got all the blocking installed on this side and i'm getting ready to get all the blocking done over here on the back end of the cabin and then once i get all of my blocking installed i'll be able to install my rafter ties so uh build fix review shout out to you for reminding me about those rafter ties it was always in the plan but i just there was two reasons why i didn't do it one i didn't have any and two i wanted to get my blocking installed first so uh let me get to that [Music] all right i've got my blocking all installed all the way around so let me go get my rafter ties and we'll get those installed [Music] uh [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] all right i got all my rafter ties installed if i get a shot of that without the sun you can see that corner all along here now in this corner um i didn't have the correct tie to do that so i just improm improvised and i'll lift the camera up so you can see how i did it that's the best i could come up with i think it'll be just fine but uh all right i got all my blocking in and i got all my rafter ties in so uh next i need to install my eaves and my fascia so ah ah uh do so so foreign uh you all right so i've got my fascia installed all the way around i've got my kickers installed here on this side and as you come around here you can see how i've got my fascia all installed right there so what i need left to do today is i need to get my kickers installed right here and i'm calling them kickers i don't know what they're called a little mini rafters and then uh then i'll be completely done with my roof will be all framed in including the eaves so i've got my kickers cut so i just need to get those installed so let me get to that all right i got my eaves done all the way around and uh put some siding on well not siding but some sheathing i still need to uh put rafter ties on that end of the kick outs and uh on this end here i need to install those and on this far end over here as well i don't have those on but i ran out so i'll get those and then i was able to uh pick up some of this uh sheathing that had uh paper siding on one side but i'm going to be wrapping all this with house wrap so i didn't want i just put it inside out so that the osb side would be out but that's how much i was able to get done on this trip so we'll stand back a little bit try to get the whole cabin in but that's where we sit i know it doesn't look like a whole lot but uh putting those eaves on um man that that was hard that uh kicked my butt if you like uh these cabin build uh videos um check out the links on the left and uh i'll have links to the entire series so you can watch uh from the beginning but uh that's gonna do it for this video so i'll talk to you guys later
