How is life in Boracay?
Actually, I'm not really like to compare what I can do here in Manila, Boracay can give me.
So, now it's a balance.
It's really difficult to compare.
So, every time when I say, you know, I'm from Manila, people are like,
Oh, Manila.
And I'm like, good.
Like when you're in Manila, you are in the center of possibilities.
What's up Philippines?
Welcome back to another reaction video with your host Nelly.
Today, we are going to react to why she left Russia to chase her dreams.
Street interview in the Philippines.
I don't know if you know, but I have watched a few of these street interviews
and it's quite interesting to hear a foreigner's perspective
on what they think about the Philippines.
Do you agree with me?
Give it a thumbs up if you do.
I'm very curious to hear what people have to say because, you know,
sometimes when I go out and I'm like,
I spent so much time in the Philippines.
It's amazing.
You should visit.
This is why.
And I just point out a few things.
People are like, Oh, that sounds so nice.
And then they go there and they're like, Whoa, that was amazing.
And I would say, let's just jump straight into it.
This is my home.
This is my space.
This energy of this country, because I also believe in them.
These grounds help me.
What's your name?
Okay.
And where are you from?
Hello, I'm Darina and I'm from Russia.
She's pretty.
For how long have you been in the Philippines?
More than four years already.
More than four years?
And if you don't mind, what brought you here to the Philippines?
Actually, it's a big story behind.
And I started behind.
Pandemic.
Pandemic brought me here.
And I live here in the Philippines since February 2020.
And I came from China.
And at the beginning, I started my journey on a beautiful island, Barakay.
Oh, good choice.
So you came from China, after China, you came to the Philippines.
How is life in China compared to the Philippines?
Actually, you know, city life, if we talk about Manila and China, more or less the same.
But of course, island life and city life is absolutely different.
Completely different.
Like Manila lifestyle and China lifestyle more or less the same for me.
Because it's a big city and yeah, the same.
But Philippines, like Barakay, if we talk about Barakay, is absolutely different feelings.
And super different experience.
Okay.
You left your city life in China, and you come to the Philippines,
and you go straight to Barakay.
Why?
Because at the beginning, I planned my vacation.
And I was ready that I will stay there maybe two or three months.
But my two or three months became three years, you know.
So yeah, it's a big chapter and it was amazing.
And now I have two house.
House number one, Manila.
And house number two is Barakay.
Barakay.
Wow.
How is life in Barakay?
It's chilled, of course.
It's more relaxed.
It's more beautiful.
But actually, I'm not really like to compare where is better.
I don't like to choose because I take both.
Because I love it.
It's just different feelings, different things.
And the things what I can get from the from islands, Manila can give me.
And opposite way, of course, some things what I can do here in Manila, Barakay can give me.
So now it's a balance.
It's about balance.
So when I really miss Barakay, it's one hour and I'm already there.
That's true.
It's really difficult to compare.
So every time when I say, you know, I'm from Manila, people are like, oh, Manila.
And I'm like, good.
When you're in Manila, you are in the center of possibilities.
You can go up north and explore the mountain province.
You can go down to Batangas and just explore this beautiful, beautiful area.
You can go wherever you want.
You can go further south and do island hopping.
The possibilities are endless.
It's really difficult to say, what do you prefer?
Because I personally learned to love the city life.
I transitioned more into the island life.
But I do need the city hustle and bustle sometimes.
You know, just have the small luxuries of life, malls and so on.
And like restaurants, diversity.
Quick break.
I took a little shower to give my hair some extra love.
And maybe you guys remember when I talked about my crazy hair loss that I had during
the pandemic.
And I'm happy to report that my hair grew back.
And I know that it is a very common problem, especially for men out there.

Now back to the reaction video.
Smart girl.
Not just pretty.
Wow.
Okay, actually, I said like, hello, everyone.
My name is Darina.
And I hope today you feel good and have a good day.
Something like this.
So this is what I said.
And the same thing in Russian.
Multilingual, like myself.
I love it.
Beautiful, guys.
Beautiful.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate it.
It's really beautiful.
You know, like knowing like you came from Europe, you went to China.
You learned the language.
Now you're here in the Philippines.
Let me ask you this.
How is your Tagalog so far?
Shame.
Because my Tagalog is not really good.
I can understand some things.
But I cannot speak.
And I understand why.
Because I don't have big motivation to learn.
Everybody can speak.
Yeah, that's true.
That's why I'm not really focused to learn Tagalog.
Yeah.
And you coming here.
How is your life?
Living in the Philippines.
I feel super comfortable.
Because for me, Filipino people and Philippines in general is very warm.
You know, and I also think like I'm a warm person.
So I love it.
And I also thinking that I create my space.
You know, if I like it, I'm super happy.
You know, so this is my idea.
If you don't like it, change.
You know, you don't need...
I just have to say that I love her energy.
Her positivity, like her aura, the way how she talks.
She's just super passionate about the Philippines.
You can tell she's very happy to be there.
Very genuine and authentic person.
And there's just like this light that surrounds her.
So girl, you have something great going on.
To complain.
So if I'm here, this is my choice.
And I respect my choice.
So how I can say I don't like Philippines?
This is what I want to say.
Of course, if I'm here, it's my decision.
It's my choice.
Of course, I love it.
As a woman, how safe do you feel walking around in the Philippines?
I feel super safe, actually, you know,
because BGC is a beautiful place and safe and nice.
Of course, you don't need to go where you don't need to go.
But we talk about every country, you know.
It's not only about Philippines.
So, of course, you should also be cautious.
Yes, be safe.
And you're from Europe.
You came to Asia.
First, you went to China.
Now you come to the Philippines.
How do you see life after you encounter these two cultures?
How do you see life that you think you're coming here?
It kind of changed your life perspective.
You know, I think, of course,
every experience, every chapter in my life changed me, you know.
So what I want to say, me before my Philippines life
and now I think it's different to me already, you know.
And what I understand, first of all,
your relationship with someone else cannot be better
than your relationship with yourself.
So first of all, in Boracay, in the pandemic time,
and I was alone there.
So I don't have another choice.
I have to be the best friend of myself, you know.
And even before, I count only on myself.
But now, yes, I feel I'm more stronger.
I can survive.
I can create so many ideas.
I can do it, you know.
And I'm happy with that, you know.
I don't need someone who come like magic man
and makes me happy.
No, not at all, you know.
I'm happy.
I'm confident.
I love what I do.
I love people with whom I create my things.
So I'm a happy person.
Oh, okay.
It seems like, as you said, you really love yourself.
And one thing which is amazing that you said,
before you love someone else, you have to love yourself.
What is like being in the Philippines as a foreigner?
I think it's a big question.
And actually, I think about love by hours.
And what I want to say.
Actually, it's not about culture.
It's not about country, you know.
First, I try to explain my idea.
Actually, you attract that things, that people,
who you are right now.
Actually, my idea also about life.
Everyone is reflection, you know.
She's very spiritual.
Everybody does bad things, it's not okay.
First of all, you should ask yourself, you know.
And maybe you should change yourself first.
And after that, maybe your reality will change also.
So my experience is a good experience, you know.
But if you talk only about marriage or something like this,
first of all, I'm also thinking,
not all relationships lead to marriage.
Yes.
Some of them just lead to discover good restaurants.
She has figured it out.
Where are you going to take your next boyfriend to?
Or not, you know.
Or not.
But if your idea about life, just enjoy this life.
Don't force, don't push, you know.
Yeah, she's so right.
Everything will be fine.
So like, how to say, I'm open for all good things.
So what I want to say.
But for example, for now, I'm not really looking for
like some fun or short-term relationship.
I don't want, you know.
I save my energy, you know.
And I'm not interested in this kind of relationship.
But you know, if for someone else is okay, it's fine.
I think here the most important to be honest with yourself
and very open to understand what you really want.
You know, when you don't cheat yourself and your partner,
everything is perfect.
Thank you so much.
I love your answer.
And I love how confident you are when you put your words out there.
Let me ask you this.
What about the course of life?
He was really listening carefully what she was talking about.
Like you can tell that he was appreciating her little TED talk.
It's like, it's very exciting for me to watch.
As someone that is coming from Europe,
how is the course of living in the Philippines?
I think it also depends on how do you like to live.
What is your level, you know?
Of course, if you eat unlimited rice and chicken,
maybe it will be cheap lifestyle, you know.
I'm sorry, sorry.
Unlimited rice, guys.
Thank you so much.
But you know, it's not for me.
I think it's more or less the same with China if you compare with big cities.
So maybe it's more expensive compared with Europe,
but compared with China, I think more or less the same.
And let me ask you this, right?
So you have been here for like four years right now.
How is your interaction with you and the Filipinos?
Perfect.
Oh, interesting question.
It's also, again, it depends like what you spread.
The same energy, the same people, the same attitude you receive.
So that's why, like, it's again, it's not only about Philippines.
It's about like universe.
Bad things and good things.
These two reality everywhere, you know, we have black and white.
The point is what you see, what you choose,
how you react and that's it.
You know, it's more about you.
It's not about people around you, you know.
So everything starts from yourself, from start from you.
But I do have to say it's a little bit different than the Philippines.
Just saying around you.
Not everyone is the same.
Everything starts from yourself, from start from you.
Actually, I'm in love with this interview, to be honest.
Told you, told you.
Like, I love your confidence and then I love how you put all the answers out there.
And just before we go, right,
to other foreigners watching us right now that haven't been to the Philippines,
what advice would you give to them?
I mean, when it comes to visit the country.
I mean, we enjoy as the interviewer told you.
Guys, if you're thinking now go or not go to Philippines, my advice, go.
Please don't hesitate.
You go to the Philippines.
You have to do it.
It's worth it.
You know, it's really paradise.
And of course, you will get your experience, you know,
because every people has his or her own experience.
You have to get your own.
So, of course, Philippines for me is my home, is my love.
Of course.
Oh, beautiful.
And lastly, any message to the Filipinos watching us right now?
My Filipino friends.
OK, I want to say I love you so much because
we're going to smile.
This is my space.
This energy of this country, because I also believe in that these grounds help me
and people around me is also support me.
So I wish you all the best.
And thank you so much.
Every time when I have some connect with Filipino people,
it's only good experience for me.
I hope it will be always like this.
So thank you so much.
That's so cute.
I love it.
Thank you for your time.
I really appreciate it.
Look at her beautiful aura.
But you said something at the beginning that we can't go without us doing this.
As you know, Filipinos are well known when it comes to singing.
And you mentioned that you can sing.
Do you know any other song?
Yes, but not so many.
But one I know.
Oh, yeah.
Can we try?
She knows one.
OK, so let's go.
There we go.
Listen carefully.
Thank you so much.
Beautiful.
You have a beautiful voice.
And guys, please, if you want to check my friend,
all the info is going to be on the description below.
Don't forget to subscribe and share the video with the whole Barangay.
Much love, much positivity.
That's what the world needs.
Bye.
Wow, nice video.
Definitely a very, very deep, sweet interview, I must say.
I learned that a lot of Russians are actually super spiritual.
And that is the proof.
Like this beautiful soul is just putting so much positivity and great energy out there.
Like she said, it's not about the country.
It's not about the culture.
It's what you put out there.
And I think that is something that we can lead as an example for others.
So wherever you are, spread some good vibes.
Share a smile with a stranger.
Be kind.
And that's it for today.
