there are about 50 British Virgin
Islands only four are of any size it's a
place to park your ship and park your
money but if you're on holiday three
things to do walking tour bus tour or
the beach you can pick up a brochure and
we're going to do the walking tour of
roadtown today most people head straight
for the beach and the most popular and
the nearest is Kane Garden Bay two ways
to get there well two versions of the
same way is a taxi bus from roadtown
outside there's all the buses there's
the open top ones there's the closed in
ones for the bus tours or you can hire
scooters the buses and the taxis are the
same vehicle it's just the taxi takes
you direct and the bus takes you on a
tour all the approved drivers wear a
government shirt I've made a new friend
this chicken's following me for the
ambitious anaga island is beautiful but
it's probably best to get a private tour
rather than a ferry behind me is the
ferry terminal so if you want to go
across to one of the other Islands
that's the place to get your Ferry Sage
Park the National Park is a rainforest
or you can take the bus tour this is
kitty Kitty is famous so I was told to
search her out the first thing we passed
was the dolphin attraction taxi to beach
is straightforward or this tour and get
off at the beach enjoy the beach and
take the taxi home is the second option
every month they have have a full moon
party and people come from all over and
they go down to bomber Shack and party
and have a brilliant time and then he'll
drive you home if you need it full moon
party is roads closed and hundreds in
the street if you decide to stop here
ask he might drive you home if you get
to the shack for happy hour or spend a
couple of hours after 10:30 p.m. at
night B have cars will drive you back
the road separates Shanty Shacks from
expensive Holiday Homes a familiar site
in all the Caribbean islands is
fishermen cleaning their catch being
swoop
by Massive Birds oh my
goodness look
wow from Stout's Lookout you can get a
fantastic view down to the bays and up
to the
1,740 Ft above sea level peak of sage
Mountain before tourism the biggest
money spinner here was agriculture
bananas coconuts
mangoes sugar cane it gets twice as much
rainfall as Britain so that's why it's
all so
Lush just want to give a shout out to
Stout's Outlook very important for any
tourist the L are spotless so the bus
tour does give you a good look at the
island before the beach
this is coolwood rum Distillery the only
one in the British Virgin Islands on
torola and you still have time to do all
this stay on the beach and then walk
around the town
later is there another one that's the
one that doesn't taste though isn't it
oh that's
[Music]
sweet
yeah wow
how much is that $5 and now to the beach
cane Garden Bay it's almost the last
thing on the tour so you could get off
as long as you check with the beach bar
that you can get a taxi back which
should be
easy this beautiful beach is called cane
Garden Bay it's got everything you need
from a beach very important it's got a
beach bar Caribbean Flavor
there's no doubt many people from your
ship will be here and it's only about 20
to 25 minutes back so if you wish to
visit roadtown which isn't that big you
can plan to do that as well we finished
our bus tour with Kitty Great Value only
$15 we went all over up in the mountains
so now we're going to do a bit of
shopping we walked the back street and
found this little place with the lights
off but they switched them on for us
this is the Virgin Island Folk Museum
it's a government owned Museum on
slavery and it's really worth a look
this museum is listed on the leaflet
they give you at the tourist center as
you enter through the Port Village it's
well worth taking one of those and
having a look through it obviously most
are adverts but this little Museum and a
few other gems are listed this is the
lower estate sugar works apparently you
have to enter from Station Avenue so
that will be interesting we'll have to
go and find Station Avenue the reason
you don't enter from over there is
there's thick mud swampy mud there
station roads over here we found the
entrance to the sugar works Museum now I
wonder if it'll be worth it it's very
small and they wouldn't allow filming so
we can't show you what was in there but
if you pop your head around the door you
can see it tsunami evacuation route you
go up we've just been told what would
happen in the case of a tsunami the
lights would flash the lady would run
out of the Hut shout tsunami wave her
arms and everybody runs up the hill it's
a garlic
Vine but it doesn't smell of garlic
behind me is the curator's house very
Colonial looking this is fishlock Hall
it's the curator's house and it's where
they hold their meeting so the taxis are
just outside the port if you want to go
to roadtown and the Folk Museum turn
left and if you want to go up and see
the sugar Museum and the Botanical G
Gardens turn right if you want to know
what it's like to visit a rainforest we
have a film of a hike in our St Lucia
video please subscribe we're in the
beautiful Port of St Lucia if you want
the beach don't be tempted to turn left
by the bay you've got to walk up to the
roundabout and turn left by the airport
walk all the way around come down here
to the beach it's a beautiful Caribbean
Beach not only is it a gorgeous Beach
there's natural shade from the tree so
you don't even have to hire a suned it's
a shame you can't just run across the
runway because the ship really is just
over there a stone throw from the ship
we found the church the square and now
we're going to look at the market we had
a little rainfall last night so the
rainfall a little wet and also very
slippery there are three activities here
there's the skyline which doesn't take
any effort there's the zip line which is
going to take a lot of adrenaline and
there's the height there are several
varieties of snakes in the forest ample
toilets there's a cafe and a shop all in
all it's a brilliant experience we're on
route to the springs and the volcano and
this is a $1 washroom stop this is an
active volcano and all the mountains
around it are the rim so this could
erupt so if you see I'm running you
follow absolutely
stinks warm once you're in I promise
this is the S kits Cruise steel band and
snorkel tour I have to say I thoroughly
enjoyed this tour and it was worth every
penny everybody rocked off the ship and
some guests came up to us and said it
was the best tour they'd ever done if
there are lots of ships in you may dock
in the container Port but the shuttle
bus will bring you here and from here
you can get your buses and go out on
your tours for the day we came with
Debbie she dropped us off at Carambola
Beach Club which is just along from Fri
Bay just chill out on a deck chair and
read my book cruise ship Heist the
further away from the more expensive
beach club the less golden and the more
volcanic the sand gets but the more fun
it gets is there's no timetable but the
buses prices are quite reasonable if you
thought the stone steps in Talon were
narrow try
these I think I
could I want to take you somewhere
special and I want you to meet someone
special it's all the way to Nelson
Stockyard cost $7 for two and they'd
heard about it on visits this already
feels like a great day out I think
Nelson Stockyard is a very pleasant
place to come a few officers at the time
of Nelson left a bun in the
oven ah the bakery very
funny oh
look expensive if you've seen Nelson's
dockyard and you want to go to the beach
come down to the red and white building
go all the way up the hill and then turn
left all the way down to the beach if
you're looking for a natural car
Caribbean Beach take the trip to
Nelson's Stockyard and walk here it's
Paradise so so far my antia beach trips
cost me a pound this is the local bar
it's called Sandra's Bar and Grill so
two chairs and a parasol will cost you
50 Eastern Caribbean dollars which is
about £15 but it's still cheap because
we got there by bus this borrow is
called Cast Away we're going to have an
Indian meal they've got sport TV and
Wi-Fi so the taxi here cost other
Cruisers $30 it cost us four so the food
was free if you're joining the ship here
you will go in a coach bonded to the
Port Terminal and check into your ship
once checked into the ship you can visit
Barbados number eight is the bearded
Victory and it is how Barbados got its
name Los Barbados the bearded one we
having a beach day today in Barbados
from the cruise ship and it's really
easy to do cheaply if you like a rum
punch and a snorkel this is the boat for
you we'll show you North Southeast and
west of the island a bit in the middle
but tonight we're going out we're at MOS
Bar and Grill and it's right on the side
of the stage so the music's going to be
loud the dancing starts late but if you
don't get there early you won't get a
seat very dramatic I think there's a
wedding over there it's a
baptism the very helpful young lady in
the bar said that the botanical gardens
are 5 minutes walk up here so fingers
crossed I'm trusting her but it is quite
a steep hill she's St her beer at the
famous Sandy Lane Hotel God knows what
it's going to cost
