Howdy howdy and welcome back to another episode. We are not on the water yet, I've just knocked off work but I have to go to one of my favourite stores here in Townsville and it is the 4WD Central because I got a phone call the other day from Mr J from Ultimate Pro Crab Pots and he has left me a little present here so let us go see what it is and while I'm here they got my favourite lures so I'm going to grab some of them, come in for the adventure eh? We will start here, sorry about that. We have all the fishing rods set up, come up to a bit of stuff for you, hovey, kayaks and whatnot and then we get to the fun stuff. We got all your Zmans that I use, favourite colour is this colour and I just took the last of the Houdini's off but they've got their reels down here so a good range of reels so come in have a look and of course they've got all your 4x4 stuff and the Ultimate Pro Crab Pots, got the Junior Pot, the Big Boy Pot and that's one of my presents over there we'll show you that in a minute. It is a new product from Ultimate Pro Crab Pots so look what else they have in here, come in and say g'day to him. Bit of a barramundi in the tank, pretty cool, not as big as my dude but definitely cool so get in here and have a look. Let's see if we can go get a Goodbye to my favourite shop, we got the goodies, let's go get that boat and let's get these crab pots in the water. Alrighty and just like that the magic of filming we are at the mouth of the creek so we're going to set a lineup of four pots because I'm solo today so we have the present which I'm going to show you very shortly but we're going to run a line I might start at the you can just see the end of the mud up here so I'm going to set them all up we'll float back there and that's where we're going to run our first pot but today we have a special little side quest of we're going to chuck this GoPro inside the camera, inside the crab pot I should say so I'm just going to zippy tie him in there zoom right out in it and hopefully we get a bit of footage if that doesn't work I'm going to stay down here because the battery only lasts 45 minutes I'm going to stay down here for that 45 minutes we'll check it see if we've got any good footage if not I'm going to chuck it on this other little mount that I've got and we will see what happens on the outside of the pot so I'm just going to clamp that to the outside of the pot and have the camera pointing down at it but we'll see what happens anyway I'll get these pots set up as you do but I'll quickly show you is the new kid in town hey the new kid on the block it is an 800 pot so obviously a bit bigger than the um kids pots or the junior pots 650 pots and um just a little bit smaller than the 900 so it's a perfect size for a little dinghy I reckon I think I'm going to have to um sort myself out with a whole set of these ones but we'll grab the crab spreader obviously brand new pot it's going to be tight and you want them tight that's how you know they're going to work so we'll quickly crab spread this I don't know if I've got yous on the right angle I haven't set much up just want to get these pots in the water and there we have it so that is the new 800 pot they look like a good bit of kit as always top quality materials really heavy duty um we'll see how we go anyway and they also have the retractable arms so we'll get a mullet in each one didn't have any mullet heads and I actually forgot to call into the old boys and get me fish frames so lucky I remembered before we put the boat in I only remembered as we were driving past the servo and they're still frozen all right I'm gonna have to put them in some water I'll come back to yous when we're setting this camera and pot up all right let's hope that's still there when we come back hey I'll go get this pot in the water took a little bit longer than I thought but um yeah we have the GoPro up there and we're gonna see what we can do I brought it out to the mouth because I figured the water might be a little dirtier but it's going to be nice and bright out here so um we'll see how we go anyway it's a pretty bright day not a lot of clouds in the sky I'll find a spot and we'll chuck this big girl in there's only one way to find out what the crabbies are doing let's film them Jay's been asking me to do this video for a while but um yeah finally got around to it finally got the mount I wanted and let's see how we go let's see how we go a bit of a bombs away with the camera pot oh it's making sillies what's it going that's what we want it doing we want it all pots in the water bar that one we're just gonna go up to a little tributary that runs off the main creek and we'll chuck him in come for the ride see we're flying boys he's wedged out beautiful yindi all right let's get this fella in the water bait on the bottom always works better oh make sure your rope's not tangled all right let's get it dudes um look it's that windy I don't even know if it's worth going for a flick so what I'm gonna do I got me two barra at home that yous haven't seen for a while I'm gonna go throw the cast net and um we'll get some food for them and we'll have a little feeding when I get on this RV after I check these pots so let's go get some baits all right so this is cast netting solo in big tides with a bit of wind it's gonna be a bit difficult but we'll see what we can muster up hey all right we're getting close I'll get this ready so just gather it all up in a bunch and then you want it about your hip height I grab it about there grab your lead line up over your fingers grab the far away lead line a couple of little glances and now I'm pretty well set I don't do this last bit till I'm pretty well ready to throw and then I just you just got to gather the last half of the net that's left over and we'll go in for a throw see what's about not too shabby but we'll work this bank and see what we can muster up did I leave that in gear got some prawnies and lots of little stuff don't want little stuff me barra are about 70 centimeters now so want some decent food for them looked a bit more like what we wanted lovely lovely size good size for the barramundi lovely and there's a feed for them lovely herrings we'll get all you little fellas back to an extent little fellas see you later spiky buggers spiky little buggers a couple more see how that hey one o'clock during the day what is it 108 and um yeah nice little finger good work curry little pat on the back for that one I don't mind that I wasn't even going to put a bait in the water but um yeah I decided to and it worked out for me oh we'll get another inquiry I think you might have got that bait then no little cod little cod god little cod god oh this one's getting bites just hang out there for a second cod just hang out there for a sec come on eat him eat him up eat him up bubble but no we'll quickly get that cod sorted and back out there quick little pointer if you grab them grab them by the lips like that pinch it together kind of your no spikes around there nice little unhook see you later bud I'm going to take all the barra's food if I keep going like this a couple more down and we'll um we'll call it a day and go get the pots I think I would love another finger but we'll just have to see we'll just have to see that one's a good enough for a feed for me just don't think there's much point so bait fish it is we'll give it another five minutes and um we'll go get go check that pot with the gopro in a nice little gold spot see you bud all right I think remember oh missed his lip pinch him on the lip you got him secured no spikies see ya bud all right let's pull this up finger marks already on ice he got himself a dinner and we got some barra some food not a bad day the icing on the cake would be a mud crab and a bit of footage in that pot but hey we can't have it all but yet we might so let's go and find out hey sort this electric out let's go I'm not scared I'm not scared I don't get scared it's only 400 dollars that's all let us see let us see oh yeah we'll still get it maybe we're turning they're turning all right pull him up slowly we don't want to pull that camera out boys turn the belt off let us see we have no crabs disappointing oh well we'll get the camera out of it and we'll leave it in overnight and see what happens it's only been in 40 minutes so can't complain too much all right camera is de-secured we'll put some fresh water over it but we'll get this fellow back out there and leave him overnight we'll check the other three but I wasn't expecting too much it's only been 40 odd minutes so that's all right that's all right oh it's been an hour but we'll get him back out there I'll still go over the footage see if any fish or anything come in there but we'll check these other three pots we'll see how we go might have just put it in the wrong pot we'll see all right pot number two how much is it going to suck if these two have crabs and I put it in the wrong pot but that's the luck of the curry that's all right boys can't complain we've had a good day oh you're kidding there is two Jesus are you serious tiniest bit you can push in but he's coming home haven't had crab in a few weeks and he's a good one he's a very good one do what we do the crab cop them up and we'll get rid of this fella he's an these little mud herrings absolute favorite oops dropped him little prawny see if they want the prawny oh he wants the prawny all right that'll do them for today so we'll keep going as well get rid of them there's only about six left yeah they're still chasing them they're still hungry come here boris here you can have a prawny there you go bud all right we're all out of food boys the two barra in there we got a turtle and we got a plecostomus to keep it all clean he's been lacking this glass need to clean but i'll get in and scrub that over the weekend usually do it every weekend but yes i will see yous on the water tomorrow what are you doing scooby-doo all right have a good one hey you know when this comes out you're in trouble it absolutely nuked this gopro i can't even get the files of the sd card that was i'm trying at the moment as we speak but it is not looking too good so i've got my sd card out of the one i'm using this one and um put it in here to see if i could get the files of it at least and no go no go at all but oh well you live and learn i definitely will be investing in another waterproof case because the one i got was rubbish so we'll see if the tineman will come and fix it overnight but leave it in a bit of rice we will see all the sponsors that got involved the other weekend at the fishing comp old curry there on the end there is he right there lovely all righty we are back in the creek a little bit of disappointment i cannot get that footage off the gopro that i drowned so much from being waterproof to 10 meters i only put it in three meters of water and she is ruined but we're coming up to our first spot here right now let's see what we got pot number one for the day let us see probably not going to hang around too long today just going to you're gonna have to keep an eye on them how many we got i'm gonna bag out last pot in hand let's see how the new 800 aussie gold pot went oh we got crabs oh holy goodness we got one two three four going home family day today got to fix a bit of stuff broke one of the springs on the boat trailer on the way down so yes i think we'll be having finger mark for dinner with a crab entree the missus don't eat crab but i do so there's one two three four five six crabs and a nice finger down there we'll get them stacked up and show you a bit of a look eh all righty we are now at the barbecue it's the stepfather's birthday so i brought him over some crabby got the crab cooker there i'm also going to do that finger mark cooked whole bit of garlic bit of butter and we'll see how we go should be a nice awesome piece a nice rusty bucks in there i gave two to jake from four wheel drive central so he can enjoy some and yeah i'll see is when we're doing the push i have gilled gutted the beautiful finger mark from yesterday just putting some scores in it and i'm going to do a little bit of butter garlic mixed together i put a bit in his gut and we'll slice some lemon and put it up its guts as well so we'll just score same to the other side nice score to get the flavor into the meat and i'm just going to wrap it in alcohol and tuck it in the oven no fancy fire tonight or nothing so i'll prep this little filling i'm going to do and i'll come back to you when i'm tucking it in a fair bit of garlic in there get that flavor in there you don't need to do much it's a beautiful taste of fish but push all that in them little slits you've done don't worry i've washed my hands and i only scratched get that in there we've got to get some alfoil give me a little flipsy don't forget my lemon darling i'll get the lemon in there i got a slice beyond let me on up his belly and we'll do one on each side as well and then we'll wrap him up all right where's your alfoil right here did this before but we get a bit more alfoil we got four lovely morsels in there drop them in here for a nice warm bath changing color getting a nice suntan as soon as it comes back to the boil boys and girls 13 minutes when it comes back to the boil stand here and wait for it to come back because it's a very important step and then timer 13 minutes i think hi what are you doing there my love just making a nice slurry to cool the crabs make the meat separate from the shell you're gonna do it you might not do it with salt it's also boiling so we've started the 13 minute timer now i'm gonna do this with one hand but the fish is going in the oven oven is preheated to 180 and we will check it after 30 minutes let us see how she turns out hi boys and girls time is just about to go up the crabs are ready we just pull the basket out oh we got some tasty morsels now i just need something there goes the timer we're going in dive now we're just going to give that a bit of a shaker normally we'd use a bigger ski but we're not at home look at that perfectly all the legs are still that's why you put them on ice before you put them in don't lose legs don't throw nippers perfectly cooked crabs every time i'm sure the family will smash them later on we just got the fish to go and i'm out just pulled him out of the oven we think she's ready to go she smells ready to go all the meat come off the bone nice oh yeah she's ready coming off the bone perfect there it is nice finger mark what do you think old man jeez i done well cooking all he did was check it i'll see yous on the next one i hope
