A colleague of mine gave me a piece of raw lumber he found in his garden and asked if I could turn the mystery piece into thin 5mm thick boards. Turns out it was plum after planing the log and cutting everything up with my small bandsaw! Enjoy the first episode! =D

good morning fellow woodworkers welcome
back to the workshop vlog so today
surprisingly um one of my colleagues
from my school came over he's a
carpentry teacher fellow teacher of mine
and
he
became a client he wanted something from
me namely he got this piece of wood that
he had lying around in his garden and he
doesn't know if it's from his plum tree
or his chariotry this really doesn't
matter at all but he asked me if i could
quite possibly resaw this into thin five
millimeter boards he wants to create
letter openers from from this wood and i
said yes i can give it a shot and this
is actually my first time
resewing or creating boards from
completely raw lumber for myself he had
this piece of wood lying around for
about half a year by now and i hope i'm
going to be successful with it um yeah
this is today's workshop vlog and we are
going to see
how everything turns out enjoy
so

so
whoa it worked the small man one managed
to do it and the place is getting hot i
think i had a very good feed rate going
um
i think we can continue like that
and now we also have a nice 90 degree
square edge and now we can start cutting
that further that's amazing very nice
what the [ __ ]
okay
nine
damn that guy broke
for [ __ ] sake
[Music]
well that went so much better than i
thought it would just look at that they
look
very uniformly cut and
well the wood is absolutely gorgeous i
really dig it i think my client is going
to be very satisfied with this and that
was a fun thing to do i'm going to use
my random orbits in now time a little
bit more on these ones such that we are
going to get rid of all these saw marks
but other than that very satisfied
really liking these
[Music]
so
[Applause]
[Music]
well what can i say this turned out god
damn well i'm seriously proud of myself
i didn't think that i could do it like
this but they look absolutely stunning
and perfect and what he got damn
such a [ __ ] nice grain i seriously
dig that and i hope you did enjoy
today's woodworking vlog and maybe you
well learn something new like i did as
always with woodworking you always learn
something new no matter how often you
have done something before and if it's
the first time and it turns out so
nicely then it's even more of a reward
for you well
and yeah i see you next video please
stay safe and don't forget to watch the
rest of the workshop vlog playlist ciao
