Senior Year Highlights: Prom, Graduation & Moving Out

Yeah The finger tapers tape All right, Micah J senior prom we're out at the crossroads at Lake Martin where a lot of people come for pictures Let's go get some photos And we need a mic up for this I got a mic you up I was You always need to remember that we are all in this thing together choose to do good help those around you and make an impact that way Remember what I told you at the beginning of the year You'll be the prom king or the prom queen. You can be the captain of the football team You could be the homecoming queen all that won't matter but how you treat people will be remembered forever I recently read somewhere that life is like a marathon. What was that? Got it guys TJ To five New apartment, there is Mikey J and Harrison, mr. Independence Welcome to Tallahassee Unfortunately, we can't get into Mike's yet. They have it locked up because he can't move in just yet, but Harrison's moved in Here's his roomie over here And Mike is will look identical as far as layout a little bathroom shower Closet. Oh, actually the closet is pretty good size. I thought I already showed you that and then yeah a little kitchen area Pantry, we just got back from the store. Actually, this is not the pantry. This is the stackable Pantries on the other side in it boys of whoo, look at the stash Harrison's got his monster. They got their eggs and chicken rice Gatorade What else you need some protein? Protein pre-workout the necessities protein pancakes protein pancakes and Costco food All right, boys. We're about to leave it. We y'all Here y'all stand there. Let me take your picture All right moving day like a j-brawls big TV, but we need a stand for it at the power cable All right, this is it this is the new crib for the year, Tallahassee this boy's gonna go be productive citizens and Good students at lively. There's been a little time past since we dropped Mike off in Tallahassee We were pretty emotional. We dropped him off So probably the best time to be be videoing, but this was our first child to kind of leave home So we didn't really know what to expect, you know, everybody's like, oh, you'll be sad It's happy and honestly it was it was a it was a mix of emotion and I love a sound How do you best explain it? It's like you work their entire childhood to raise them to be independent Self-sufficient like you're raising them to be a successful adult an adult, but then when the time comes It's like oh my gosh I'm not ready for this like 18 years went so fast and Micah was actually 19 in the summer before he moved So it's what you work for the whole time you have them and then when the time come it's just a flood of emotions Yeah, like you kind of want to hold on to them and not let them leave But the other part is it's really kind of that analogy of of the mother bird like pushing them out of the nest It's almost like we didn't have to push him. He ran Like for them to really gain their wings and fly I mean I got to a point with Micah where I just knew he was kind of plateaued I felt like in his growth as a as a young man I'm like he needs this he needs to go on and get more independence and be kind of on his own Doing a lot more by himself, you know and I felt like we kind of prepared him as much as we possibly could and the next was him just going and Experiencing it and doing it on his own and so as hard as it was to to break up the the Murph squad We haven't been broken up like that. It was it was tough, you know losing losing one I mean, obviously we didn't lose him, but it just you know, the dynamics obviously change. It was a flood of emotions You're happy you're excited for him because you know It's a head or you think you know, it's a head as he grows and becomes more of an independent young man But it's also like you're just you're sad. I mean, yeah, you know because the dynamics in the house are definitely different His brothers haven't verbalized that they miss him, but he's one to instigate things Pick on people like in a fun way Light-hearted way and so the other two have a little bit of that in them But not as much as Micah does and so whereas when he walks in the kitchen He's instantly going to start poking or come and grab them from behind or they might end up wrestling Who knows and so I do think they've kind of missed that with him But be a year and a half and then Collins in the exact same situation. So we'll be doing it again Yeah, and again the dynamics change and that's kind of what's been difficult I think is just the dynamics changing of what you're so used to and just trying to adjust to the new norm But yeah, I mean I get it's part of it but a lot of people go through that you know where you have a child go to college kind of go on and it's just Kind of part of it. This was just our first experience with it And you know, I mean it's it's taking some adjustment and but we're excited for him again and happy and he's doing well And he's liking trade school and doing well with it so far So obviously we don't know what the future holds, but we'll keep rolling and keep documenting and keep you guys posted But again, we appreciate all you guys that are following along on the journey and have asked or curious and and keeping up with us And we really appreciate the love and support. Lookie here. We got Mike and Jade back for a little bit So how's independent life? I like it Got three weeks of trade school. What is the schedule like right now wake up between 6 45 and 7 shower change Breakfast pack lunch head to school get to school for the first couple weeks We've done a little bit of hands-on stuff, but it's mainly been getting our certifications safety My Florida ready to work and OSHA, but we'll start all the fun stuff next week Everything we've done hands-on is just basic stuff that I already knew the basic wiring the stuff that I'll start struggling with is when we Get to the panels meters and you like your classmate. Yeah Yeah, one of my classmates is now my barber and one of my classmates goes to the gym with me pretty consistently There are two of them. We've missed you. Have you missed us? Yeah Miss the fam missed your friends. Yeah, it's been different. Well, we're glad you back He's back for the weekend, but he's gonna go straight to work He's working at the marina for the next couple days to work because it's a long weekend Labor-day weekend, so he's gonna go try to make a little extra cash.
