We visit the Observation Deck (where we find out it's free admission during our visit!), followed by a walk to Goat Island to get up close to the Horseshoe Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls from Terrapin Point.
This is a must-watch if you are planning to cross the Canada-US border on foot or want to see the spectacular views from the Niagara Falls State Park. Don't miss our candid talk about what it feels like to stand right next to the massive falls!

Hello everyone, this is Ahmed, Don and Walking Lady.
So we are going to the US on foot today, taking the Rainbow Bridge.
So we took actually Uber from our hotel because it's like 35-40 minutes walk from hotel which
is like you know we are staying at Radisson and I just didn't want to get tired even before
going to the US.
So this is kind of in front of Crown Plaza Hotel and then you can see that there's the
Casino Niagara.
So this is the bridge, I cannot see the name of the street but the entrance to the US is
right here and you can see that it shows Rainbow Bridge to the US and there's another entrance
here.
So we are just going to take this path and follow the entrances to walk to the bridge
and we are going to show along the way you know what you need to do and we are going
to tell even the immigration officers what questions they ask and then we'll enter the
US.
So let's get going.
So I think we have to go that side?
I'm not sure but oh I think I saw the sign to USA, it's there, it's on the right, not
on the left.
Okay.
Yeah.
So I think we have to pay the gate for $1?
Toll.
The toll for $1?
Yeah.
I think it's where those couples are.
I can see the sign to USA and I don't know, there's another, looks like another entrance
there, not sure what is that for but this is, looks like the entrance here and we are
just going to enter the building and see where does it lead to.
Yeah, actually guys, so this is my first time, I don't know, Amidon, is this your first time?
Where?
To walk on the bridge?
Yeah, yeah.
No, I came to the bridge before from US side.
From US side.
But I didn't cross border though, I came half way.
So guys, this is the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and you can see that the falls are over
there, so we are leaving the Canadian side and we are entering the US side.
You must present your passport, visa, birth certificate to be re-admitted to Canada.
And here it shows to US, okay, go ahead.
Yeah, we are going to turn off very shortly.
So here, so change for turnstiles and here you can actually change and you can put in
like either Canadian or US coins in these machines, so, actually this is for change
but you are going to put your coins there and you can put four quarters, either Canadian
or US, doesn't matter and then if you don't have quarters, then you can just change it
here and you can see that they are accepting US $1, $5 bills only, no $20 or $10 or in
terms of Canadian, so this machine is only $5 bills and those machines accept $5 and
$10 Canadian, so this is just to change money to get the coins because you need coins.
But we already have four each coins.
No, actually you can also pay just $1, you don't have to pay like $4.25.
Yeah, you can also have a loonie if you have one, so either way you can pay here and we
are just going to pay now.
So guys, I am going to here insert four quarters right here, so let's see.
One and two and you can see that the machine is reading and three and four.
Okay, so it's green, we passed.
Here.
No, no, no.
Oh, okay.
Here, $2 right there.
Oh, shoot.
$2, so we are going to take this gate.
And to Canada, when you are coming back, we are going to come back this way also.
Alright, so let's take a quick look at the falls from this side and that's the Rainbow
Bridge right there, which we are going to walk right now and here you can see the falls,
the American side and then here we have the Canadian side, so we are just going to walk
this way and it's going to be, I am expecting like 10-15 minutes walk to reach the U.S.
So, maybe 10-15 minutes.
I think at least 10 minutes.
10 minutes, yeah.
So the immigration looks like there.
I was thinking immigration is going to be right here.
I think the immigration for Canada is here.
Yeah, yeah.
This side and the immigration for U.S. is there because we are going to go.
Yeah, so we are just going to, you know, keep walking and watching the Niagara Falls.
So, I don't see anyone else is crossing, but I think it's too early because we came up early.
I don't know, but I think 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock, maybe 10 o'clock.
9 o'clock?
Okay.
9.38.
Okay, so 9.38.
So, I think people are still sleeping.
So, we are here a little bit early and I don't see anyone coming or going.
So, we will just like, you know, keep showing you guys.
And here, if you are coming via cars, that's where you are going to enter from the U.S. side.
And I think, yeah, like the walking lady said, the Canadian immigration has to be somewhere there.
Oh, there is a small post over there.
Yeah.
So, we will go to that place.
I think that's the observation deck right there.
Oh, over there.
And I think it's called Tara Pinpoint or something.
We will figure it out later.
And then here, we are kind of in the middle of the U.S. and Canada right now.
And I think you are going to, there should be something on the floor saying this is the border.
Let's see if we can see that.
And guys, so we are crossing the Niagara River but over the bridge on foot.
And, okay, just one second.
So, guys, here how it looks.
So, guys, I see the three binoculars and you can view from here.
But I think you have to pay 25 cents.
Yeah.
I don't see anything saying that we are crossing the border.
So, maybe they don't have it.
And I smell sulfur.
Sulfur?
Yeah, I smell something.
Yeah, I smell a little bit.
Yeah, I smell, I think it's from the water.
There is a tunnel there.
Yeah, there is a tunnel coming out.
So, I'm not sure where the smell coming from.
But there is a sulfur smell in the air.
So, I have a good feeling we are already on U.S. soil right now.
But I didn't see any divider.
But you can see that here you are going to enter if you are coming from the Canadian side.
Maybe there is a sign there on the...
Yeah, I didn't see any.
But I think we are in the U.S. now.
Yeah.
Because already we passed half Niagara River.
So, we just passed the Rainbow Bridge.
And guys, actually the immigration officers, they are watching us now.
So, we have to turn off our camera.
Not yet, not yet.
I think there is a point we cannot record anymore.
That time we can turn it off.
But still you are okay.
We are okay.
But when we enter the immigration section, then...
And this is definitely your side.
Right now.
So...
Look at this, look at this.
I will tell you something.
Yeah.
There is a barbed wire.
Oh.
There.
Oh, I am not sure why it is here.
Yeah.
So, you can see, I see a sign Pedestrians.
So, we are going to enter.
Within a second.
Oh, yeah.
I see the immigration office here.
I think, okay.
So, we have to turn off the camera very shortly.
But I just want to show you guys from the front view.
Which is right here.
And...
This is the same way we are going to take back when you are coming back to Canada.
And here...
Yeah, so...
That's it.
Let's turn off the camera.
I will see...
So, see you guys on the other side.
Okay, guys.
So, we just passed the immigration, okay?
And if you are coming back to Toronto...
Canada.
Oh, sorry.
To Canada.
Then you just have to go straight here.
We don't have to go to the immigration again.
But I think when you go back to Canada, then you have to deal again with the immigration, right?
Yeah, so we came out of this immigration office on the U.S. side.
So, right here.
And the immigration officer just asked...
How long we are staying?
And when was the last time we entered U.S.?
And how long...
You know, we have been living in Canada.
So, basically, very simple couple of questions.
Yeah.
Not too many questions.
So, right now, our goal is to head to the observation deck, which is right there.
Yeah.
And we are going to go through the Niagara Falls Park.
State Park.
Which is right here.
This area.
So, I think...
But there should be signs, like, you know, clear signs telling you where to go or what you are doing.
So, let's look for the signs.
But I think we have to stay on our right because we can see that it's on the right.
So, Niagara Falls State Park, you can see right here.
And Hotel and Tourist District on the left.
But we are not going that part.
We are going to the right side.
Falls and Welcome Center.
Yeah.
So, we are going to the Welcome Center.
And you see that there are not many people are here yet.
Because we are early.
And also, it is a weekday, I think.
Yeah.
Another factor is that it's a weekday.
Sorry.
So, hold on.
There are more information here.
Like, Welcome Center is going there.
It's okay.
Gift Shop.
Falls Building.
Maid of the Mist.
And Restroom.
Restroom.
We are going...
We are not going to the Maid of the Mist.
No, that's the boat ride.
Yeah.
We will get wet.
Yeah.
That one.
Actually, I never did that.
And actually, this is the way going to the Maid of the Mist.
Yeah.
So, you can see there is a parking lot here.
So, this is where you are going to be parking if you are bringing your car.
And where is the Observation Deck entrance?
I think it's here.
But you know what?
Let's check the sign.
Yeah.
Because I saw some people just going there.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, we are...
So, this is the Rainbow Bridge we just crossed.
And Observation Deck is right here.
And where it says where you are?
Okay.
This is the Rainbow Bridge.
Yeah.
And then, this is the ACB immigration.
Right?
Okay.
It doesn't say where we are right now.
Yeah.
That's the thing.
Okay.
So, I think...
Welcome Center.
Where is the Welcome Center?
Welcome Center.
Okay.
I think...
I think it's okay.
I think it's that way.
Looks like it.
Yeah.
You can just...
Oh, Welcome Center is still more ahead.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, I think we are just going to keep continuing.
And...
I don't see any sign to reach the Observation Deck.
But it has to be somewhere here.
But I think I have a feeling, you know,
that's where the family went.
Yeah.
Behind us?
Yes.
Oh.
Okay.
Yeah, you are right, maybe.
Yeah.
Because I don't see...
So, let's go back.
Because I don't see anything showing...
Hold on, hold on.
American Falls.
I think it's here.
No, but you need to see Observation Deck.
What do you think?
Is it?
Can you see like an entrance going to the Observation Deck?
Okay.
You know what?
Let's just follow the family.
It's Welcome Center.
Okay.
Maybe there is an entrance there.
I see there is something there.
So...
Yeah.
So, maybe you can go in there too.
Let's see.
Imagine today we are...
We are here at the, you know,
U.S. side.
Yeah.
We are in America right now.
I think there is also going to the water.
But it's just a park.
Oh, and there is also...
Yeah.
Is that the deck?
Yes.
It looks like closed.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, but it's closed.
It's closed?
I think so.
Yeah, I saw it closed.
Okay, you know what?
Let's go inside and ask the people there.
So, there is a view of the Niagara Falls State Park.
From this point.
Guys, we went to the information center.
And they told us that the observation deck is opening in one minute.
In one minute.
Now...
Yeah.
I think there is a...
There are fees.
But we don't have it.
Oh, I think...
I saw a booth there.
125.
Yeah, we have to buy from there.
So, the observation deck...
We have to pay 125, right?
I think so.
But hopefully they take credit card.
Oh, actually we have cash too.
So, you are okay.
Yeah.
We are okay.
I think it's better to pay, you know, all this credit card now.
Yeah, that's right.
Because most people don't carry any more cash, right?
Cash, yeah.
So, they have a train here.
But I think it's not on for the winter.
Okay, so we are heading this way.
Let's go this way.
And today, guys, it's very cloudy as you can see.
Okay, okay.
But it's not very windy.
It's not very cold.
Right?
Yeah.
We are so lucky today.
Yeah.
So, here we have to buy the ticket.
Entrance to the Maid of the Mist and Observation Deck.
And...
We are just going to...
Get the ticket from here.
Oh, I don't see anyone in there.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, so...
We are going to figure out.
Hold on.
I just want to see what's in here.
So, I think this is the history of the Observation Deck.
Observation Deck, free admission.
All 10 to 4.30 is free.
Okay, so guys, we came here this hour.
And this is free right now.
That's why there is no one here.
So, let's just continue.
Yeah, but it's very inexpensive.
Alright, so...
I think this is it.
This is the Niagara Falls.
And here is the American Falls.
Okay.
Here?
Yeah.
You will see.
Because it's kind of hiding.
Because of the cliff.
Yeah, yeah.
That's why you are going to see the horseshoe.
Yep.
Oh, we have to go through the doors.
And that's the Rainbow Bridge.
We just passed.
Okay, so let's enter.
Elevators to...
Okay, I think we have to go again.
No, no, straight.
Straight.
No.
This is the deck.
It can be.
Bridge.
Yeah.
No, I think there is a glass floor.
Glass floor?
Yeah, I don't think this is the main place.
Hold on.
I was expecting like a nicer...
Okay, yeah, you are right.
That's it.
So guys, I believe this is the observation deck.
But I was expecting something like a glass floor.
But you can see that this is like, you know, concrete and very simple.
And then we have the Rainbow Bridge there.
And then that's what we are looking at Canadian side of Niagara Falls now.
Which we never get to see.
And we are kind of staying right there.
Go up?
No, it's going down.
Yeah, that's it.
Alright, let's go.
This is Walking Lady and Amidon.
And we just finished going to the observation deck.
And we saw the falls.
It's very nice.
And right now we are going to the Goat Island.
And to be able to go to the Goat Island, we have to cross the bridge over there.
Yeah, somewhere right there.
But we are just going to see fall of signs also.
Because it's our first time to come here.
Oh, I came here before.
You came here before.
So you know.
You know how to get there.
No, no, no, I don't know.
That was when I was little.
I forgot everything.
But the only thing I remember, I board on the train without paying the ticket.
And then someone came to check the ticket and I jumped out of the train and ran away.
Is it true or you are joking?
No, no, this is true.
It has a name.
It's not train.
It's like, you know, goes here.
I forgot the exact name.
Like a trolley.
Okay, maybe Niagara Falls trolley.
That's what it's called.
Yeah, so that part is still I remember.
Someone came to me and I jumped out and ran away.
Okay.
So it looks like that's the pedestrian bridge we are supposed to take.
But there should be some signs.
So we are looking for it.
And then we are going to Goat Island.
And then from there, there are a few other viewpoints.
Like we have the Terrapin point and there are other points we are going to watch.
So for now, the main objective is to reach the Goat Island.
And from there, we'll see what else is there.
So Goat Island is like really island?
Yes, it's really island.
Yeah, very small island.
And the Terrapin point, you mentioned Terrapin point.
Yeah, that's inside the, within the Goat Island.
Yeah, there are a few other places you can go within, from the Goat Island.
I think it's good to walk through, you know, along the water.
Oh, yeah, yeah, we can do that.
So this is my first time to cross the border.
And see the American Falls.
American Falls from the American side.
From the American side.
Yeah.
Where is, what happened to Horseshoe Falls now?
Oh, it's hidden.
It's not really seen.
It's hidden.
So right now, this is the American Falls.
Yeah, this is the Niagara River.
Yeah, that's the American Falls.
And this is like Niagara River turning into American Falls.
I feel a very little bit wind, but it feels chilly.
I think, did you check the temperature?
Feels like zero, right?
Okay, I can check on my phone.
Maybe zero or minus one.
So that is the pedestrian bridge over there.
We are going over that.
Actually, let's go this way.
Let's go along this way.
Water is very loud.
Yeah, so the water is very loud here.
Okay, so I guessed almost correctly.
I said zero, but it's three.
So I see there is a cafe there.
Later on, we are going to have lunch.
And our coffee too.
I don't mind having another cup of coffee.
Although we had a coffee two hours ago at Tim Hortons.
Like six o'clock.
Six o'clock, yeah.
I think those are like buildings or apartments people live in.
Looks like it.
They have nice view.
So guys, this is the pedestrian path.
We already saw the American Falls.
I think you have to go on the other side.
You have to go on the other side, here.
So this is the pedestrian bridge to Goat Island.
Cave of the Winds.
Which we are not going there because you get soaked.
Terrapin Point, we are going.
Luna Island, we may or may not go.
Three Sisters Island.
We'll check how far are these.
Then, you know, we'll see.
Oh, could be, yeah.
No, I don't think that's...
Oh, yeah, you're right.
Look, look.
There's a car there, yeah.
Oh, look at the Canadian side from here.
So this is the American Falls before.
Like, you know, the river.
Niagara River is becoming the American Falls.
And I think the Bridal Veil Falls is right somewhere.
No, the...
Yeah, Bridal Veil should be somewhere right there.
Before the American Falls.
Next to the American Falls.
And Horseshoe Falls, I think, right there.
Far away.
Across the...
Across the river, yeah.
So we passed the bridge.
Oh, looks like there's another bridge.
Another bridge.
Yeah, looks like it.
I think this portion of Niagara Falls River
becoming Bridal Veil Falls.
Because smaller.
Yeah, that's what I'm guessing.
Maybe.
Because the bigger portion is becoming American Falls.
This portion is becoming Bridal Veil Falls.
But if I'm wrong, you can leave a comment correcting me.
Maybe you're right.
But that's my guess.
So we have another pedestrian bridge
which we are going to cross.
And a walking lady found out that cars can come here too.
You can see the signs.
Okay guys, so we passed the bridge.
And...
What is that said?
Terrapin Point?
Yeah, I think.
Let's see. Let's follow this.
Oh, but people are going both ways.
That is Niagara Falls State Park.
Yeah, everything, the whole place is Niagara Falls State Park.
Okay, I see something there.
Maybe we are on the right track.
Okay, so...
Yeah, yeah, we are on the right track.
So...
Luna Island.
Oh, yeah, see Bridal Veil Falls.
I think I was right.
And Terrapin Point.
Yeah, Horseshoe Falls.
You can see from here too.
Okay.
So guys,
here
are...
We are not going to keep up the winds.
But
the others, we are going to see.
How much you can watch.
Okay, so here it says,
Welcome to Goat Island.
And I can see the sky view.
Oh, yeah.
You can see Canada from here.
I think you can just quickly
check here what you can see.
Okay, I think this is just Bridal Veil Falls
kind of like, you know,
showing.
You cannot see because
it's kind of going down from here.
Oh.
Yeah, it's still river.
Okay, so Terrapin Point.
I think we are kind of close.
Oh, it says we need to go to Bridal Veil.
Yeah, Luna Island,
they are closed, you cannot go.
Yeah, but they closed it.
They closed it, but it's okay.
It could be seasonal closing.
Yeah, but
we can go to Terrapin Point.
It should be another
good section.
Within the Goat Island.
So we see some kind of
information center.
And there's a cafe.
But we don't see anything about
Terrapin Point.
But guys, you can see the Rainbow Bridge.
And
okay, where these people are coming from?
Cave of the Wounds.
Okay, oh, maybe
maybe that's Terrapin Point.
I'm not sure.
Let's check.
I have a feeling this could be
Terrapin Point,
but I'm not sure.
But let's see.
The signs are sometimes not clear.
And that's the Niagara Falls,
the Skylon Tower.
We are watching it.
But I saw there's a cafeteria.
Yeah, I need,
I'm dying for like coffee and snack
and washroom.
Yeah, when you are walking,
walking long,
you get tired.
You get tired and thirsty and hungry.
Oh, we see a squirrel here.
Usually they're already hiding
in winter, but this one came out.
He's saying there's no,
there is no snow yet.
Yeah, yeah, that's true.
That's why they are still around.
Well, today supposed to be snowing,
but hasn't started yet.
Okay, so guys,
let's see what is this?
No, here is better view.
Oh, okay.
Luna Island.
I think this is Terrapin Point.
I have a feeling this is Terrapin Point.
First same-sex marriage in New York State.
Okay.
And,
where is Terrapin Point?
Oh, that's the shop.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, look at that.
He's looking for food, actually.
No food.
No food, sorry.
Sorry, no food.
Oh, my God.
He came so close and looking for food.
Yeah, I think so.
I can't believe it.
If I have something here,
I can't believe it.
Yeah.
So, maybe,
maybe this is Bridal,
this is the Bridal
Ville Falls.
Yeah, this one.
And that's the American Falls.
And from there,
the longer one
is the
American Falls.
So, this year,
Terrapin Falls.
Yeah.
Let's see if we can see
how she falls.
And this is Nikola Tesla?
Tesla.
Yeah, I think
the Tesla car is after his name.
All right, guys.
Where is...
How come they don't say
what is this place called?
Scoopery Ice Cream.
So, there is a
cafeteria here.
And you have to order here.
Yeah.
No, no, no.
I don't think so.
You can just order here.
Maybe it's just there.
Oh, maybe this is only
for ice cream.
But, inside,
I think there is
coffee shop and stuff.
And...
That's weird.
Okay, can you hold on?
I wanna see
if it's Terrapin Point here.
See, these...
They do not say
that you are here.
Yeah, I think
if they show that
where you are...
Terrapin Point
looks right there.
I think maybe
that's where we are.
We...
We already crossed
and then...
I think we are here.
Yeah, I think this is
Terrapin Point.
Because horseshoe
is just close now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, I think this is
Terrapin Point.
I have a feeling
this is Terrapin Point.
Yeah, this one.
But, how come
they don't...
They have no sign.
Okay, but we have...
We can go further.
And then, we can...
Yeah.
Because now we are
close to the horseshoe
and Terrapin Point
is just close to the horseshoe.
Yeah, so...
I have a good feeling
it is.
So, you know
when we go
for coffee later
it's not
Salada Man anymore.
No, no, no.
Here, Terrapin Point.
Yeah.
It's coming up.
Maybe not that one.
Oh, not that one.
Right there.
Yeah.
Okay, but I think
it's kind of
within the close proximity.
Here, just next to it.
Yeah.
So, I think
that place has no name.
No name, yeah.
Yeah, it has no name.
So, I think this is
Terrapin Point.
Yeah, it's coming up.
It's the Terrapin Point.
And you're going to have
a very close look
at the falls.
And I can feel
the mist on my face now.
It's kind of like, you know,
I can feel the mist.
Yeah.
Like, it feels like a drizzle.
So, can you imagine
if we can just cross
this water here?
Yeah, then we're in Canada.
go back to Canada.
Yeah.
See, the nation
is quite wet
because of the mist.
Yeah, because of the mist.
Yeah.
The ground is wet.
Yeah, it's going to get wet.
But I think
it's wet.
It's okay.
Okay, and I see this
here, guys.
Horseshoe Falls,
Terrapin Point.
So, we are very
close.
And
you can see that
the
it's wet here
because of the mist.
It's crazy mist.
And you're going
farther.
So, it's going to be really
most likely the camera
is going to get soaked.
But it's okay.
Yeah, the camera
is waterproof.
And
I don't have a gimbal.
So, that's no issue.
Oh, that's the power plant.
Yeah, that's the Niagara Falls.
So, that's the horseshoe.
That's the horseshoe, yeah.
Half part of the horseshoe.
Yeah, yeah.
But we're going to get
a full view
of horseshoe.
And that's the Canadian side.
Is it raining
or is it the mist?
It's the mist.
It's not raining.
Oh, okay, okay.
Yeah.
I think you better
put on a hoodie soon.
Okay, so here
Terrapin Point,
Horseshoe Falls,
top of the
Falls Restaurant,
Three Sisters Island,
and
another
squirrel
looking for food.
No food, buddy.
No food.
Huh?
We are out there
looking for food.
If we
knew before,
we could have bought
some peanuts.
Yeah.
You cannot see.
Yeah.
Yep.
So, now here
this is the
Terrapin Point.
No, we are already
on the island.
But I think
you can go
Three Sisters Island.
It's probably
a lot more walk.
But I don't think
necessary.
We don't have to
walk that far.
And it will be
all the same like you.
Yeah.
So, guys,
it feels like
raining.
But it's not
actually raining.
It's just from
the falls.
This is the
Horseshoe Falls,
the Canadian
Falls.
Oh, so they can
also see the
Horseshoe Falls.
But they have to
come here.
Yeah.
They have a very
close view
of the Horseshoe Falls.
And this part
is closed.
We cannot go
any farther.
But you can see
that even we are here,
we are getting
soaked now.
You know,
if there is not
too much cloud,
not too much mist,
we can show
very clear
the horseshoe.
Yeah.
Not very
cloudy today.
Yeah.
But still,
at least we...
No, but I think
it's okay.
I think it's
different view.
Yeah, different view.
We're getting
a different view.
When it's sunny,
I think the view
is different.
And on the left,
we have the top
of the falls
restaurant.
But although
it's not really
top of the falls.
Yeah.
Because I think
from there,
you can see.
You can see.
But if you go to
the Canadian
side hotels,
they have very
nice view of
overlooking
the falls.
That's right.
And you have
Three Sisters Islands.
And...
Okay.
You wanna go back
or just return?
Maybe return?
No, we can return now.
But we go the other way.
Yeah, go the other way.
Okay.
