탐정과 그의 조수는 용의자를 미행하다가 용의자를 놓쳤습니다. 단서들을 토대로 용의자가 어디로 갔는지 같이 추리해 볼까요?
The detective and his assistant just missed the suspect while following him. Can they find him again? Shall we find out together based on clues?
Are you sure the suspect came this way?
I'm sure he came this way,
but I missed him in sight.
Argh, where did he go?
I guess he noticed we were tailing him.
Yeah. I think so.
Oh! Sir! Over there!
Where?
He just turned right at the three-way intersection far away!
Let's go!
About 2 minutes later
He's definitely past here,
but which way did he go?
There's a lot of moisture in these muddy footprints
You'd leave footprints if you walk this way.
Yikes! My shoes got dirty!
I gotta wash it with puddle water!
Huh? What's this??
There's a piece of rag!
Hmm...
Clue 1: Wet muddy footprints.
Clue 2: You'd leave footprints if you go to C.
Clue 3: The piece of rag found in the puddle. (a mark of mud is left)
Clue 4: The width of the road is about 3 meters.
It rained during the day, but the concrete road is now dry.
Dried concrete road like A.
A path wet by daytime rain.
Seldom people around, which way did he go?
Aha!
I see!
The moisture in the muddy footprints means
it hasn't been long since the footprints were made.
If the suspect went to A from the beginning
there would've been no muddy footprints.
He might have changed his mind to A after going to C
but then there should be footprints on the mud.
So these footprints must be fake.
In order to confuse us
he put mud on his shoes
then he left his footprints on A
and after he washed the mud with puddle water
he wiped the moisture from his shoes with a rag
then he put on his shoes and have gone to B.
Or could it be that the suspect calculated it all
and brought his muddy shoes all the way here
and he put them on and just went to A?
The rag may not have been thrown away by the suspect.
That's not entirely impossible,
but leaving footprints like this on purpose and heading to A
is too much of a risk for the suspect.
Let's not waste any more time here and go to B!
Was the detective's deduction correct?
