All signs are pointing towards a Winter in the Element, traveling the backcountry of the South West. With that in mind, I'm slowly building out the element to make it has versitable as possible. I have been beyond impressed with how well this little car does in the backcountry. You can't really tell from the drone footage, but this was a fairly gnarly road in spots. Also, no bs, this was the first time I've been able to sleep well in the Element. I do plan on getting a rooftop tent but this extension will make the living area much more comfortable for my office work/meetings if/when I get the rooftop tent. I know it wasn't the smartest idea taking the Element out with a busted rim. Not only did I not have service for miles, if the rim cracked large enough to gush air out, I would be relying on a donut to get me back home. Luckily, all went well :-)
My summer in Colorado has been treating me really well. I have been busy with the large
project I've been working on but I still find time to make it back into the backcountry.
For this trip I'm going to be testing out the Element Driven 5DE tent camper. Last time I
went out it was very cramped with the dogs. This allows me to keep the tailgate down and get some
with a lot of wind and also I have a crack in one of my rims. I had a nail in my tire and I took it
to a local shop to get fixed and I'm pretty sure they cracked the rim when they put the tire back
on. As long as I don't have a catastrophic failure I did bring a small air compressor with me to air
up the tire in the morning. Over the last week or so that's been my morning routine. I wake up,
hook up the air compressor and air the tire up to where it needs to be.
The spot that I'm going to is the same spot from the last vlog.
It has quickly become one of my favorite spots to visit in Colorado. It's just very remote,
it's very peaceful and when I'm able to make it out there on weekdays there's absolutely
into fly fishing you may know that some trips you just cannot keep your fly from getting stuck
on branches, on rocks and anything else that's around. But just spending about an hour and a
half on the water is definitely what I needed and it's well worth the time even if I don't catch a
time that I actually got a good night's sleep in the element. Being that I was able to stretch out,
have a nice breeze in throughout the night, it was just a much more
enjoyable experience with this tent camper extension.
Thanks for watching everybody, I greatly appreciate it and also thank you for watching
my test of the 5D tent camper extension. This thing exceeded my expectations and I'm very
happy to have this option now with my car. We'll catch you soon.
