Warriors are going to be playing
tomorrow
home opener versus the Denver Nuggets
and FanDuel, the official sports book of
again the program and the Believed
Network as a whole. The network has a
lot of great shows and we're proud to be
the official Golden State Warriors
program of the network. And FanDuel,
even though this game is at Chase
Center, is favoring the Denver Nuggets
by one point, the Warriors one-point
underdogs. Yet, even if you bet on them
as underdogs,
you're not getting you're still not
getting like the plus number in terms of
odds, it's still minus 106. the Denver
Nuggets one-point favorites. It's minus
114 for their odds. Uh if you bet the
money line on the Warriors, that to me
is your best bet. Plus 100. You bet, uh
it's it's it's even money pretty much.
So, uh in my opinion, if you're going to
bet on the Warriors, if you feel good
about them, take the money line. The U
is 232 and a half. Again, courtesy of
FanDuel. And let's bring the Hall of
Famer on the program here on Golden
Days. Always a pleasure to have the Hall
of Famer Rick Barry on the program. One
of my f not one of my favorite
individual in the NBA scene and a dear
friend that and I'm I'm absolutely
privileged to say so. You can follow
Rick Barry on all social media platforms
at Rick24Berry.
How are you doing, sir? And your
immediate reaction to a fun opening
night of NBA basketball, at least it was
fun for me.
>> Well, uh I'm doing great. I just got
back from the uh Huntsman World Senior
Games, played pickle ball there and got
a couple of gold medals in the silver.
So,
>> congrats.
>> Not I was hoping for the triple crown,
but uh a guy that I know that's a heck
of a player just turned 80. And uh I'm
not I wasn't quite good enough to beat
him. I had him 74 in the first game, but
uh came up a little short, but uh two
out of three is not bad and two golds in
the silver is pretty good. And then I've
got the world sen I have the USA pickle
ball nationals coming up in a couple of
weeks and then the seniors next in
December. So, I'm into the pickle ball
as you can tell. And then, hey, I want
to give you some information because I'm
also going to start doing for people who
are listeners and want to do something,
>> I'm going to be actually hosting some
cruises on uh
uh for pickleball pickleball cruises. Uh
yeah, that's going to be really cool.
And hopefully I'll I'll get more
information about it and I'll be able to
let uh let everybody know. It's going to
be and they have some cool stuff now on
the uh uh Royal Caribbean Royal
Caribbean cruise lines in covered pickle
ball. So when you're cruising, you can
actually play pickle ball. It's not
outdoors and exposed and then play in
Cabo in the day, you know, like a five
day five night cruise.
>> God,
>> hopefully
get your pickle ball. And if people
follow you on social media, again,
Rick224Berry, it doesn't matter what the
platform is, you will promote it there,
uh, when you're good and ready, right?
>> For sure. For sure.
>> Beautiful. And and hopefully once you
have all the information,
>> I get all my stuff going. I got a lot of
stuff going on. It's like crazy. I mean,
I'm It's very excited, you know. I got
my potatoes company that I have with Pat
the Potato product uh doing this. I'm
involved with the with the AI and AR and
and a company that does some amazing
stuff. I was actually I was talking with
it's called the synth human. I was
talking with Albert Einstein. He was
responding to me answering my questions.
It was him. It was his voice. It's
mindblowing.
If I were playing today and I had the
kind of followers that Stephan, these
guys had, those guys should be doing
this. I got to reach out to them because
it's so cool the message you can give to
people. Uh, we've got a lot of Anyway,
that's another cool thing that I'm
involved in. So, I'm busier now than
I've ever been. I probably wouldn't be
if I was making the kind of money that
these guys make now and made $300
million for five years, but whatever it
is, it is. Uh, but I'm I'm healthy,
which is the most important thing. And,
uh, I'm happy for the Warriors to get a
win. I mean, I would have been very
disappointed if they lost, you know,
with LeBron not playing. So, uh, you
know, that was good. We could talk a
little bit about that. I I'm curious.
What did you think of Kaminga today?
Yesterday.
>> Chef's kiss is what I thought. It was
borderline perfect. Apparently, Jimmy
Butler has taken him under his wing as a
as a in a in a mentorship relationship,
and I'm seeing it pay off. But more
importantly, what was what were your
thoughts, sir?
>> Well, uh, I was very pleased, especially
shooting the three the way that he did.
We always talk about that if he ever got
himself to be a really
>> um proficient three-point shooter that
that would be unbelievable for him,
especially with his ability to get to
the basket.
I would have to say if I were to talk to
him, I would I would take him and bring
and and watch the videos and I went over
it a bunch of times after I watched the
game again and tell him he has got to
look to be more aggressive offensively.
>> He's too willing to just catch the ball,
pass it to the next guy, and move. You
know, yeah, that's fine. If you're
swinging it to somebody wide open for a
shot, you want to do that. But if that's
not the case and you get it, you want to
put you want to put a lot of
responsibility on the defender, make him
worry about you, and you need to look
and especially with his ability to get
to the basket. Because if you can get by
that guy quickly, right away, and
penetrate the defense, you've broken
down the entire defense. Then you can
kick it out. He sees the floor. He's not
a selfish player, and he can either go
in and finish it, get fouled, or create
something else for one of his teammates.
I think he has to have a little bit more
of an aggressive attitude. I'm not
saying a selfish attitude. I'm saying a
little bit more aggressive.
>> Fine line, right?
>> That's what's that. Yeah, it's a fine
line. And uh and talking with my son
Scooter, who's, you know, out there in
the Bay Area doing some cool stuff now.
Um and we had a conversation about it
and he said he would like to see him,
and I agree 100% with this. If you ran
Kaminga off of staggered double screens
and the Warriors do a lot of that where
they run move and pass and run their man
off of other teammates.
>> Yes.
>> Utilize that and have him coming off
>> back towards the middle of the court on
the wing either wing and give him the
ball on the move. He's gonna be really
really difficult to guard. I I just
would love to see him getting the ball
in the move doing it because the players
have to talk about it whether they
switch or not. they can make some other
mistakes. The guy can slip inside and
get a pass to him if they're worrying
about him. It used to same type of thing
when when Steph runs and comes off of
those when they did that a lot of times.
I always remember one of the games
against Cleveland, a critical game
against Cleveland at home. I think it
was Steph who ran from the left side,
ran off of two of his teammates, came
out, somebody came and and was there to
run off and go to the right corner. And
it was LeBron James actually and J.R.
Smith who didn't communicate well. and
they both ran out on Steph and the pass
went inside for a dunk. It might have
been Looney or somebody else. Those are
the kind of things that forces the
defense to make numerous decisions as to
how they're going to guard it. And if
they don't communicate properly, stuff
like that can happen. The two guys could
stay and then guy's going to come out
and be wide open for a shot. If it's
Steph, of course, they're so worried
about him shooting the ball that both of
them they didn't talk enough and they
both jumped out and they passed it
inside for an easy layup dunk inside.
So, I I'd like to see I'd like to see
Kaminga getting an opportunity to to run
off of those types of setups. I think it
would make him much more effective and
and for him to look to be aggressive, to
look to get to the basket. I'm not
saying catch it and jack it up all the
time,
>> but I'd like to see a little bit more of
that. I I agree with my son Scooter on
that 100%.
>> Well, first of all, I was pleased
overall. Pleased overall. Oh my god. But
they shot the ball out of their freaking
mind. What? Almost 43% from two
three-point range.
I mean, they just were killing it. And
here's another one of the things, you
know, drive me crazy stuff that we did
all the time over the years. Here's
another one that drives me crazy. When
the hell is the NBA going to wise up?
Why do they put down field goals
attempted and made and include the
three-point shots in that in the to
That's insane. It should be two-point
field goals attempted, two-point field
goals made. Three-point field goals
attempted, three-point field goals made,
a percentage for each of those two. You
don't combine them. It is absolutely
stupid to do that. makes no sense
whatsoever. It just confuses everything
because if you look at it like Steph was
three he was he was 33% for that's not a
great for him for for most people that's
50% in twos that's 50% in twos for Steph
Curry that's bad night shooting
>> fair
>> okay that's a bad night shooting for
Steph Curry
>> but it it's you know but it's showing
his overall percentage of how many and
he was I think he was two two for would
have been to me so he was three for six
three no three for nine and So, and he
had 15 shots. So, six shots and he had
So, he and he had eight eight free
throws. So, that's nine 17 20. So, what
did he go? He went three for five or
something like that only from two-point
range. So, that's that's a good shooting
percentage there. But, it didn't look
like when you put it down as his field
goal percentage, it didn't look as good
as it would if it had been just three
for five, 60.
>> He was three. Exactly. He was three of
five shooting in in terms of two. And I
I follow you cuz they have that stat
called true shooting which I don't like
that stat either because it also factors
in free throw percentage and and and it
gives a weird balance or a weird weight
to free throws versus field goals. And
I'm with you. I don't think the NBA is
ever going to do anything about that.
But but Rick, going back to Jonathan
Kaminga, I I wholeheartedly agree with
your assessment 100%.
What I want to add to that though is
something tells me Kaminga what he's
doing this year is largely trying to
make Steve Kerr happy. And Steve Kerr
wants Jonathan Kaminga to be a
differential player as someone who when
Stephen Curry is out there to be looking
for Steph. And that's what I'm seeing in
terms of his play is is trying to become
more of a facilitator. Those six assists
really stuck out and he's been
>> Well, and nine rebounds. That's the one
that I like too.
>> Yes. And that too. Yeah.
>> I mean, he
>> What's your take on that? Like, like in
terms of trying to make your coach happy
while while at the same time knowing you
have the talent to really take over if
you want to. I I feel like that's what
he's trying to do. He also told Sham
Shnie I saw on ESPN today uh that the he
straight up attribution the game is
slowing down. It's always beautiful to
see that. Do you remember the moment in
your career, or maybe you never had that
moment because you were good right from
the get-go, but was there ever a moment
in your life where you felt like
everything just slowed down and became
easier?
>> Uh, on the nights when I went big time,
it's like all of a sudden things happen
in slow motion. But no, I I I mean, I
always I always had great confidence in
myself and what I was doing. And but the
nice thing about Kaminga, I mean, he got
the minutes. He got almost 33 minutes.
Uh,
>> yes. Second of the team. played. Yeah,
basically he played he played a little
bit more than Steph, almost a minute
more than Steph, a half a minute more
than the the pod man and just a little
bit under what Jimmy played. And so, uh,
yeah, I mean,
so I think what happened that game just
showed, wait a second, he can be on the
floor with Jimmy Butler and produce and
play well. That was the biggest factor
because if you remember last year, you
know, Steve said that, you know, he
couldn't see him on the court with those
guys. Well, he he was on the court with
those guys. Got, you know, as many
minutes as they got and produced
probably as well or actually better than
them. He had more assist than than
Jimmy. He had more rebounds than Jimmy.
He just didn't have as many points
because, you know, Jimmy took what 14
and Jimmy got 16 free throws, which you
know, 16 for him, eight for I mean
that's like crazy. That's I love that. I
mean, you know,
>> look at LA and LA that they got killed.
That's That killed them. The free throw
line. The free throw line.
>> The Warriors were
>> Warriors had more free throw attempts
than LA.
>> Yeah. 17 for 28. They were They only
shot 61%.
>> Yeah.
>> And And they got killed from the
three-point range. I mean, if it wasn't
for Luca having the big game that he
had, they would have gotten crushed.
Now, the I I'm always very optimistic,
very positive.
What bothered me the most, and this is
something that's bothered me over the
last few years, and you and I have
discussed it many times. Yes.
>> I hate them getting 15point leads and
blowing them.
>> Yeah,
>> they did that. They had double digit
leads a bunch of times and let them come
back into the game. You just And they
got away with it on the road. Okay. You
know, but and they didn't have LeBron on
the other team. You just you can't
afford to do that. You can't give teams
a chance to get back. You can't give
them life. when you get that kind of a
lead, you'd have to actually play even
better than you played to get the lead
and be more focused and just play
smarter basketball when you get those
situations. And that's something that
they have a propensity to do that. And
at times they're crazy turnovers. Now, I
mean, the turnovers weren't crazy bad,
but they weren't great. I mean, they had
19 for LA and 18 for them. I mean, you
don't want to have 18 20 turnovers or
more a game. That can kill you. And the
other thing that they did well is that
their assist baskets made to assist was
great.
>> That means you're playing great team
basketball.
>> Yes, sir. The Warriors had 29 assists
collectively last night. That's that's a
great number. Uh you brought up the
turnovers. Draymond four, GP23. That
that represented almost half the
turnovers. Rick, uh I know you're only
here for a few moments, so before you
leave, I I I desperately want to pick
your brain on tomorrow. Uh we're
recording this on on uh on Wednesday or
Tuesday. No, Wednesday, October 22nd. Uh
tomorrow, uh the Warriors have their
home opener against the Nuggets and
they're one-point underdogs in that game
because of how good most people forecast
the Nuggets being. They got Nicola Joic.
Obviously, the Warriors had lost, I
believe, nine straight be before they
finally won that match near the end of
the season last year to end that slide.
But that's a hell of a matchup. The
Nuggets are deeper than they were a year
ago. They are a threat. What do you
foresee in that game? Yeah, that's going
to be an interesting one to see. I've
always felt that they had difficulty.
That's one of the teams that caused them
problems over the last years
was the Nuggets. And you know, you know,
I love the Joker. I mean, two of my
favorite players will be playing in that
game. I love watching the Joker and I
love watching Steph. I mean,
>> yes.
>> You know, and and I thought Jimmy played
a spectacular game as well, you know,
last night. So, but now what happens
because now they got size. You know,
what do they do now? They're not going
to go. I don't think they're going small
ball like they did last night against
the Joker. I mean, Joker will go inside
and just destroy somebody in there. But
is it going to be Draymond on the Joker
in the post?
>> And that's a pretty tough matchup right
there. Yeah. So, it's going to be it's
going to be a it'll be an interesting
challenge, an interesting game to see
who who uh Steve comes up with to the
lineup and what kind of substitutions he
makes because a lot of it has to do with
the matchups. But, uh the Joker, but
hell, he causes a problem for every
team. I mean,
>> the guy's, you know, multiple MVP guy.
He's I always just said I always kind of
like fantasy.
>> What would the Warriors be like if they
had the Joker? Oh my god.
>> Oh my god.
>> Oh my god.
>> Oh my heavens. I mean, it would be just
insane. I mean, as great as they were
and what they could have done if KD K,
you know, if KD didn't leave, h but the
Joker, oh man, that would be just
something else to see. I would love to
see that. Of course, that'll never
happen. But it can always f I used to
fantasize. I used to fantasize about
being able to do some of the things that
you know like Michael Jordan and beat my
I knew I could beat the first guy and be
able to jump over the second guy
and dunk it, you know, jump over the guy
and do I mean I Yeah, that would have
been unbelievable. So I I had I had to
trick the second guy.
I I don't know. What are your thoughts
on this trend in the NBA that size is
coming back? Like I don't know if you
saw the first in the double header last
night with with the Rockets and the
Thunder, but the Rockets have this
monstrous lineup. The Nuggets have a
monstrous lineup. Like do do you see
Steve Kerr adjusting to that or do you
see Steve Kerr forcing them to try to
adjust to the Warriors speed? Like like
what are your thoughts on on this this
uh reemergence of bigs?
Well, I mean, you always want to try to
make them have to adjust to you, but you
have to be prepared to make an
adjustment if your adjust if your lineup
isn't working well. You got to make some
changes and figure out what's going on.
Um, we always used to play games where
the bigs against the smalls, I mean, you
know, in scrimmages and stuff, and it's
kind of fun to do that, but win.
>> It's tough. It's very It's difficult
because especially if they just go in
and hammer you. Now, if the Warriors can
shoot 43% from three-point range, then
the other team's going to have some
problems with the bigs trying to guard
that. So, I mean, it works both ways and
that's the way that's what you do. It's
kind of like a chess match and you start
making little changes. So,
>> if they go small,
>> what is the other team going to do to
try to combat that? Are they going to
send the Joker down in the post and just
try to abuse whoever's guarding him down
in the post and do that? Uh, but then
again, who's the Joker going to guard?
He probably would not guard Draymond and
just let Draymond have wide open threes
the whole time. So if Draymond's
knocking down the three-point shots,
they got to make an adjustment there,
right? You can't just let if he's
shooting and knocking threes, you got to
go up and guard them.
>> But I coach I I would that's what I
would do. I would say, well, let's let's
let Draymond shoot threes. I mean, if
I'm going to lose somebody shooting
threes, I don't want Steph shooting
them. I don't necessarily want Jimmy
shooting them. But I certainly, you
know, would live with the fact that
Draymond Green beat us because he made
fi six three-point shots out of 12 shots
or something. So, I would live with
that. That's what makes it fun about
basketball is the adjustments that you
make to how the game is going. And you
can have a game plan, but if the game
plan isn't working your way when it
starts, you bet damn well they'd be
ready to make a change to that game
plan.
You know, uh, you brought up the
adjustments and and you and and a moment
ago you brought up the fact that the
Warriors, they get complacent, uh, often
when they have these these big
comfortable leads and and they let the
opposition come back. I forgot to
mention on last night's postgame show,
Draymond Green hit that huge, uh, corner
three late in the game that that
prevented the Lakers who were making a
run late from from it sealed the game.
That that was the death blow to me. Uh,
and I just wanted to acknowledge that.
Draymond with a clutch three-pointer.
Who won those scrimmages, by the way,
between the bigs and the smalls when you
were playing typically?
>> Well, if I was on the small team, we
won.
>> So, whoever side you were on. Okay.
>> But
listen, even when we listen, even when
we script, we used to play one-on-one to
do something. I honestly I've never
wanted to lose. Even practice one, we do
one-on-one and do stuff. I never wanted
to lose. I mean, so whatever team if I
played under the bigs and doing stuff,
I'm trying to make us win and do it. I I
I think I think the teams that I was on
won the majority of the time. And you
know, that's
>> I have a one-sided biased memory, but
other than that, yeah. Yeah. You know,
your name your name came your name came
up a week ago because uh Kaminga's agent
Aaron Turner was on the program and we
started having a conversation about the
players in the league throughout his
history who had that killer mentality
that just that ultra alpha, you know,
drive where where winning meant
everything and and it epitomizes
greatness. And there were only a few
names that came up. It was you, Michael
Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, and
and Aaron Turner. like his argument
through a lot of this this back and
forth uh you know debates that go on
about his client is that's what Kaminga
wants to be but at the moment this is
Steph's team and Kaminga is growing and
he's learning to be a more a part of a
team as a whole versus you know trying
to be that guy that just takes over. Um
and and and again, yeah, it's just your
your your drive, sir, I I to me is
endlessly underrated because you were
one of those players. I I I wish you
played a little later so there was just
more footage and more people.
>> I would have like I would have liked
those three extra zeros on my mind. Uh
so his agent, how long has he been his
agent? Has he been his agent the entire
time for command?
>> No. Uh no, no. His he became his agent
in about right around the pandemic. So I
think he became his agent right when he
was getting out of high school.
>> It was years ago. And when Kaminga came
out, how many years ago now? Like four.
Four or five.
>> It's about five years now. Yeah. About
five.
>> So all I'm saying is he needed to be his
agent then because I went to Jonathan
after the season.
>> Uhhuh.
>> And when I saw him when they won their
championship and I said, Jonathan, I
said, if you're interested, there are
some things I can show you that will
take your game to an entire new level.
And and and I never was taken up on it.
So, uh, and I've I've offered that to a
number of guys in the NBA. Never had
anybody take me up on it, which to me is
kind of dumbfounding. I mean,
>> well, I have a direct contact now.
>> Jerry West, I got to know Jerry West. I
picked Jerry West Brain. I had so many
questions and stuff for him. I mean, if
somebody who was really good at what
they're doing and I'm trying to do what
they're doing, I'm going to try to
learn. If they have something they could
tell me, I want to hear about it. I
mean, my god, you don't have to
necessarily do it, but why would you not
want to hear about it? and see if it
really makes some sense and if it could
be helpful to you. And so that's always
been surprising to me. I did the same
thing for LeBron years ago when he was
when he was first couple
>> Rick the gist I get from these pro
aletes at least nowadays is they have so
much going on that they have other
people take care of right? So if
you come to the player directly,
>> this is you. This is you. This is you
taking care of you.
>> I know. I know.
>> You want to get better. That's the one
thing I kept hearing LeBron all the time
talk about. Well, I'm going to get
better at work. He spends a million
dollars doing something. He has somebody
a hall of fame basketball player plays
the same position basically that he
played. He's a basically a 23. If I was
playing today, I'd probably want to play
point guard. But, you know, similar, you
know, who can do stuff.
>> Why would he not want to hear what the
hell I had to say to him? Hopefully help
him. My my point is like he like these
I'm not defending him like, you know,
not taking you up on the offer. What I'm
trying to say is that most athletes
nowadays like you chances are they
forget everything everybody tells them.
Like unless their their direct assistant
comes to them and says you have this on
your calendar at this time like it's
probably just going to just be be
forgotten really fast. I'm going to give
his agent your contact information and
I'm going to relay this exact message.
If you're still right now he's got to do
it. I would just just tell him what I
said. Just tell him he needs to look to
be a little bit more aggressive. Not to
the point of trying to take over,
>> but don't just catch the ball. If I'm
defending you, I'm not even with it. You
just read his body language. He's not
going to do anything with the ball. The
way I mean, when he gets the ball, the
defender should have to worry, oh sh,
you know, oh, you know, crap, whatever.
You know, what's he going to do? I mean,
is he going to come and attack me right
away or do it and that's what you do.
You catch it and boom, and you attack or
at least make it think you're going to
attack. You know, you got to pass and do
something. You put some Pete and heat on
this guy. Make him have to worry about
you a little bit. It's going to help his
game. Just that little simple thing
alone.
>> Yeah. you know, and hopefully when they
run some stuff and maybe, you know,
because I know the Warriors that do a
lot of that moving and passing without
the ball, that's one of the things they
thrive on. And, you know, bringing
Jonathan off of, you know, like Scooter
said, two, you know, double triples, you
know, move and get him the ball on the
move. He's going to be so much more
difficult to defend because he's so
quick, so athletic, and he really does
attack the basket exceptionally well.
>> Yeah, I I I just like to see a little
bit more of that. But I was very pleased
overall with the Warriors performance on
the road. Even though LeBron didn't
play, it was very impressive. Now, you
can't expect that they're going to shoot
the ball the way they shot it. That was
crazy shooting on their part. 43% from
three-point range. I mean, they just
>> Well, Kamingo was a huge part of that,
Rick. Kamingo.
>> I know. He hit, you know, he was big. I
mean, that's probably the best
three-point shooting game he's had in
his career, I would think.
>> Career high for for three-pointers made.
Yeah. And again, but the good news is
there's a very strong possibility
Kaminga, if he doesn't replicate that,
Stephen Curry, who by his standards, it
was a pedestrian 33%. Will probably go
up, right? And maybe it'll balance out a
little bit. And Buddy,
>> here's the thing. Here's the thing, too,
for Jonathan, he has to understand is
that now you use that, you just made it
down. You knock the threes, oh my god,
wait a second. He's worked on his
three-point shot. the first, you know,
first impression of the start of the
season is, oh my god, Kaminga shooting
threes and he's hitting him. Okay. So
now when he gets it and he's got a guy
doing coming, he can go and just give
him this like just like you're going to
go. The guy's coming. You can blow by
him so easy because now they're worried
about his three. Whereas before you more
or less let him shoot the three because
he wasn't that good. But now you're
worried about him. So now you want to
get out there and your forward
momentum's coming. He just gives a
little move like he's gonna go into the
shot and that guy takes that half step
or just moves his body the least little
bit forward. He can get that half a step
on him and crush him going to the
basket. You can utilize that.
>> Absolutely right. And and it's so when
you met him after that title, he was
only 19 years old. It's crazy how young
he still is. And look, I any person with
half a brain would take you up on that
offer, sir. You're one of the greatest
ever to do it. your son is a legend too.
>> Well, because I I he could be such a big
factor for this team. Then, of course,
throw into the equation, you know, Mr.
Inconsistency, as everybody said last
year, but when he's on, he's on. Was
Buddy, you know, Buddy was crazy last
night, too. I mean,
>> five of 10, five.
>> So, I mean, the way they shot the ball
from three-point range was was
incredible. I mean, the fact that the
that the Lakers, give them credit, too,
to fight back like they did and get it
as close as they did, that was pretty
impressive on their part. And then
Draymond Green hit that corner three
again and that that's what really sealed
the victory. Do you have to run, sir? Do
you have time for one more?
>> Yeah, I have. Yeah, sure.
>> Al Horford, what was your impression of
his first game with the Warriors?
Because there were some highs, there
were some lows. What did you think?
>> Well, I mean, it's going to be high and
low. It was that way when he played with
Boston. I mean, you know, he's in shoot
the back of the three. I mean, they're
going to need him. I mean, he's probably
I would assume he's going to play a lot
more, you know, against the Joker
>> and pull him out, you know. I mean,
that's I'm there. I'm thinking I got to
play Horford because now the Joker's got
to guard him and you have Horford out,
you know, and get a lot of threes.
Hopefully his three-point shot is if his
three-point shots going in, that's going
to cause a lot of problems for uh for
Denver.
>> Hell yeah. Hell yeah. So again,
>> I'm looking forward to that.
>> Hopefully next month I think we're gonna
I think they're having this out from
what I've heard that they're going to
have us the 75 championship team out and
have a recognition 50 years, you know,
because it's 50 years this year from our
championship.
Is the documentary going to accompany
that?
>> Documentary is supposed to be coming
out. I don't know when that's going to
get shown. Okay. What's going to happen
with it at this juncture? I don't know.
>> So, it's ready. It just has to be.
>> I think it would be great to have it the
premiere or whatever.
>> Hell yeah. You know, in the 50th year,
50 years.
>> Hell yeah. That would be perfect. You
mentioned a potato rig. You mentioned a
potato company at the beginning of the
segment. What is that about? That's news
to me.
>> Potato product. You know, Stephen Cowell
is a guy that did it from up in Oregon
area, but uh it's a great it's awesome
product, but it's not something you can
go into the retail store and buy. It's
being sold to convenience stores.
Actually, Alama School District is using
it for the kids there in school. They
absolutely love the product. It's got
it's got cheese inside of it. We're
doing something with Egglund's Eggs.
We're going to have it. So, you can get
that. You got a this potato. It's almost
like a big giant home fry, but really,
really good. You have you can put
cheeses in it. You can put uh bacon in
it. You can put sausage in it. It's just
it's a great great product. If you love
potatoes, you're going to love this
product. And great breakfast, great even
for lunch. The difference than
basically, you know, having French
fries, you can have this product. It's a
great thing just as a snack when you're
needing to do it. You throw it in the
>> I I I put it in my air the air fryer,
cooks it up right away. It's It's just a
hell of a product. So, I'm really
excited.
>> The air fryer
>> for sale, you know.
>> The name of the product. I mean, as if I
wanted to go go find it.
>> Yeah. No, you can't go buy it in the
stores. It's not It's not
>> Oh, okay. Gotcha. This is a private
thing. B2B type thing. Okay.
>> It's sold wholesale to convenience
stores, to school systems, and trying to
get it into the cruise lines, which
would be an amazing product in the
cruise lines for their buffet. Yeah.
>> Look at you.
Go Warriors. Go Warriors.
I'm going to talk to you about something
because we Well, well, you'll end my
segment and then we can talk for a
second. Okay.
>> Okay. Sounds good. Sounds good. Uh Rick,
thank you as always. People can follow
you on all social media platforms. break
24 besides the potato company. Anything
else you want to promote at the moment
before uh we let you go?
>> Well, they can always go to
ghostsleeves.com. RB24 is the code.
Goleeves.com. Medissolaf.com. Me- DIC
laf.com.
Same situation there. And you can go for
now I'm using now I'm doing Titan Pickle
Ball. I'm using great great paddles,
unbelievable paddles. And in fact, your
$80 paddle is as good as 1500 $200
paddle. Great technology. And that's
titan pickleball.com. And if you put RBT
TP for Titan Pickle Ball, RBTP24,
you can get a nice discount on on the
products on that uh that site as well.
>> I'll get some graphics set up for the
next time you're on, sir. Sorry about
that. So, I I need
>> I got to play pickle ball. I did my The
only reason I don't play is because I
don't have a partner to play with. But
again, I was almost in the Olympics for
for uh for ping pong table tennis.
>> No, if you did that, you'll you'll
you'll you'll you'll
>> Yeah. Yeah. You're going to love you're
far away. I'd play with you all day,
every day if if we could. All right.
>> You're gonna get hooked on it. Anyway,
>> always a pleasure. Thank you so much,
Rick. Thank you.
>> Always a pleasure to have Rick Barry on
the program, the Hall of Famer, the
legend. Uh he's the man there. There is
no way to spin that. Um Bill Simmons
still owes the man an apology.
You know, instead of apologizing, Bill,
if this message gets to him in some
regard, just invite Rick on your show.
Bill Simmons like literally slandered
Rick in his book. Like it was the start
of a chapter talking about the game
seven of the 1976 Western Conference
Finals. And there's Bill Simmons
attributing Al McCoy, the radio
play-by-play voice of the Phoenix Suns,
slandering Rick, blatantly lying about
him. Bill Simmons has also called Rick
on multiple occasions on his podcast a
prick, an a-hole, and he's never once
met him. He's never once had a
conversation with him. Everything Bill
has ever said about Rick is secondhand.
That's that's a that's a joke. And and
Bill, this has been going on for years
now. Do the right thing. Invite Rick on
your show. You call yourself an NBA. the
man has a vote for NBA awards, yet he
won't interview one of the greatest to
ever play the game. Make that make
sense. So, I hope uh I hope Bill Simmons
get that gets that message because it
still bothers me to this day. Um and
also I want to hear Rick with Bill. I'd
love to that'd be a phenomenal segment.
Anyways, uh thanks as always to Rick
Barry. Thanks as always to each and
every one of you. Uh we're going to be
back at this tomorrow night. Again,
we're recording this on Wednesday, so
Thursday night. uh the home opener for
the Golden State Warriors. They uh
they're hosting the Denver Nuggets.
That's again the start of the season for
the Warriors ain't easy. This is a this
is g this is a gauntlet. Uh and if they
could survive this early stretch, which
is going to include, I think, three
backto backs in the first 10 games. So,
it's it's going to be challenging, but
uh we're here to cover all of it. And we
can't thank you enough. Always
appreciative. Um we're always grateful
for your support. And we're back at this
soon. Thank you everybody. We're done.
Bye-bye.
