Hey everyone, it's Revette, also known
as Riri, and welcome back to my channel.
This is week two of what I've decided to
call Riri's weekly tea, where every week
I break down the top 10 pop culture and
entertainment news stories that had
everyone buzzing. And of course, I give
you my unfiltered, honest, and sometimes
controversial opinions. Grab your drink,
grab your popcorn, because we've got a
lot to talk about today. From Remma
Sawyama calling out Sabrina Carpenters's
creative team to Bella Hadid addressing
fan concern and Love is Blind giving us
absolutely zero weddings. This week's
tea is piping. All right, now let's get
into it. Okay, let's start with this one
because it had a lot of people talking.
Sabrina Carpenter performed on SNL
recently. One of her performances had a
martial arts theme. Sabrina and her
backup dancers were wearing karate
inspired outfits. It looked like they
were dancing on traditional tommy mats.
And in case you don't know, shoes are
not traditionally worn onto Tommy Mats
out of respect. So Reena Sawyama took to
her Instagram story to share her
thoughts on the performance. Reena said,
"Big left to Sabrina," but urged
creative teams to do their research when
drawing inspiration from different
cultures. In her story, Reena says,
"Shoes on to Tommy is jail." And
suddenly the internet was split in half.
Some of Sabrina's fans were like, "Oh my
god, everyone is so sensitive. This is
not a big deal." While others were like,
"No, Reena's right. That's a very valid
critique. And here's my thing. Reena was
not attacking Sabrina whatsoever. She
literally said big left to Sabrina.
She's not calling for a boycott or
cancellation of Sabrina at all. She's
just offering cultural context and
asking for respect. Reena is Japanese
and she knows what tatami mats
represent. And in Japanese culture,
wearing shoes on tatami mats is seen as
disrespectful. All she's saying is if
you're going to use cultural aesthetics
in your performances, take the time to
really learn them. I don't think it's
hate at all. Well, I think it's
education. There's a big difference
between cancel culture and constructive
criticism. And just because you or I may
not fully understand the context of why
something may come off as disrespectful
to a culture, it doesn't mean we should
just completely write it off and ignore
it when somebody does bring up why it
may be problematic. I think the best
thing we can do here is listen and do
better in the future. And I'm going to
say it again, there is a big difference
between cancel culture and constructive
criticism. I actually think we should be
thanking Reena for educating us on
something that most of us probably
didn't know about before because before
this, truthfully, I didn't even know
what tatami mats were. And now I feel
like I'm a little bit more educated than
I was before. And just because something
is not a big deal to you, it doesn't
mean it's not a big deal to someone
else. Okay, let's move on. Kristen Bell
posted an anniversary caption to her
husband, Dax Shepard, which had everyone
confused. Kristen and Dax have been
together for 12 years. And the caption
on Kristen's anniversary post was weird
to say the least. She revealed that Dax
once told her, "I would never kill you."
A lot of men have killed their wives at
a certain point, but I never would.
Excuse me. Now, I totally get that some
couples may have a dark humor. It could
be an inside joke. Maybe there's more
context to the story that we don't know
about, but I don't think this is
something that you joke about on a
public platform, especially when
domestic violence towards women
especially is such a huge issue. And
this was posted during domestic violence
awareness month. Like, read the room a
little bit. I saw some fans thinking
that the post could be a cry for help
from Kristen. And I really hope it's
not, but others are just arguing that
it's a joke that didn't land. But again,
even if that's the case, not every
inside joke needs to be shared online.
Because even if you think it's funny,
your audience just doesn't know the full
context. And when the joke involves
violence against women, it's just
distasteful to say the least. I really
do hope that this wasn't some sort of
cry for help from Kristen. At the very
least, I think it's just a bad inside
joke. But just another reminder that not
everything needs to be shared on social
media. Now, on to a subject that
shouldn't be controversial, but somehow
it is. Bad Bunny has been named as the
headliner for the 2026 Super Bowl
halftime show. When Bad Bunny was
announced, I did not expect it to be
such a controversial choice. I mean,
he's only one of the biggest artists in
the world. But some people, mostly
conservatives, are really furious about
this decision. So much so that there are
multiple petitions online calling for
Bad Money to be replaced by none other
than country artist George Strait.
Absolutely no disrespect to George
Strait. To be honest, I'm not very
familiar with his music at all. But
again, Bad Bunny is one of the biggest
artists on the planet. He's broken
multiple streaming records, sold out
stadiums worldwide, headline Coachella,
cross genres like it's nothing. The man
is a superstar. This is exactly what the
Super Bowl needs. Global representation.
Isn't America supposed to be a melting
pot of different cultures? If people are
mad about this, I think it goes way
deeper than having different musical
tastes. Ask yourself why conservatives
would feel so threatened by a man
singing in Spanish at the Super Bowl.
It's just all so crazy to me. But the
NFL has made it clear that Bad Bunny
will not be replaced no matter how many
petitions are started. And I personally
can't wait to see him rock that stage.
Okay, let's move on to our next topic.
Miss Bella Hadid. People really need to
learn how to be chill online. Bella
walked in the 2025 Victoria Secret
fashion show. She looked absolutely
amazing. But some fans think that Bella
looked tired or not herself or like she
was upset while she was walking the
runway. And Bella actually stepped into
the comment section on a concerned fans
Tik Tok where she revealed that she had
just started her period that morning.
And she is also still recovering from
being in the hospital just last month.
Now, Bella is always so gracious and
sweet with her fans. Like, she's such a
queen. She really didn't owe anyone an
explanation, but she gave one anyway
with grace and kindness. Also, this is
just a reminder that we really need to
stop treating celebrities like they're
robots. Even the most beautiful
supermodels like Bella Hadid can have
bad days, health issues, and exhaustion.
I really don't think it was necessary to
completely tear apart and dissect the
way that Bella was walking on the
runway. Now, don't get me wrong, with
some fans, you can tell that it really
came from a place of love and concern.
They just wanted to know that Bella was
feeling her best, but some people just
take it way too far. And this is how
crazy rumors spiral online. I'm not even
going to repeat the rumors that I've
been seeing about Bella because they are
just outrageous. But again, just a
reminder to give these celebrities
grace. At the end of the day, they are
humans just like us. And I still think
Bella looked amazing on that runway.
Also, the wings that she was carrying
were like 50 lb. Insane. On to the next
topic for today, the Love is Blind
season 9 finale, where absolutely nobody
got married. Are we surprised? No. We
had three couples make it to the finale.
Let's start with Jordan and sparkle
Megan. You know, I got to say I really
do feel bad for Jordan and I teared up
in the finale when he said that his
biggest regret is introducing Megan to
his son. I think Megan believed that she
was ready to step in and be the best
stepmom she could be. But ultimately,
she just wasn't ready to change her
lifestyle. And it's just so unfair to
Jordan and his son because Megan knew
that she was getting with someone who
works an honest 9 toive job and lives a
pretty regular life. And yes, she makes
a lot of money and has the freedom to
travel whenever she wants, but she
should have thought about that before
she agreed to becoming a stepmom. I just
think Megan was a little bit too caught
up in the fact that Jordan's son had
diabetes just like her dad did. She kind
of had this weird thing where she
thought it was a sign that she was meant
to be his stepmom because she cared for
her dad before he passed away and he had
diabetes, too. I think she was a little
bit too caught up in the fantasy of all
that. I am so happy that Ally did not
say yes to Anton at the altar. Clearly,
these two are not right for each other.
First of all, he has a very clear
drinking problem that she is not okay
with. And second, it looks like she
wants a man who makes more money, and
that's okay, but we all just have to be
honest about it. I also think Alli's
friends came off super snobby in the
episode when they were like, "Do you
really want to settle for a truck
driver?" I really thought for a second
there that she was going to say yes to
him, but I'm glad she didn't. Again, I
just don't think they're a match at all.
And I am so sorry. I really feel for
Edmmond and his backstory is so sad, but
he does not belong with Calabria. The
way that Calabria has to take on
Edmmond's emotional trauma as her own. I
mean, she's literally at the altar
comforting him where he's screaming out
like really unable to control his
emotions. I don't know. KB is my
favorite character on this season of
Love is Blind, and I just hope she finds
the love that she deserves. Edmmond
deserves love, too, and he is such a
sweetie pie. But I think he has a lot to
work through before he can really commit
himself to another person. It was really
sweet seeing Edmmond's teacher at the
wedding. It seems like she was really
there for him when he needed her,
especially because his own mother
couldn't make it to the wedding. I don't
know. It was just a crazy season. Let's
see how the reunion is going to play
out. Moving on to the next story, we
have Travis Kelce's ex-girlfriend, Kayla
Nicole, speaking out on the online hate
that she receives. Kayla did a recent
interview where she talks about how hard
it was to get used to people writing
headlines about her. And Kayla was
actually a journalist before she became
a public figure. Her first job out of
college was at TMZ. Kayla says that she
wishes her fellow journalists would
remember that at the end of the day
there is a person behind these
headlines. And I want to say as a proud
Swifty who has been a Taylor Swift fan
for more than half of my life, one thing
I do not condone is sending hate towards
Kayla Nicole or any other woman for that
matter. and Taylor Swift wouldn't stand
for that either. And I honestly agree
with Kayla when she says that we have to
remember there is a human on the other
side of these headlines. As an
entertainment journalist myself, that is
something I try to remind myself every
single day. Over the years, I have made
thousands of videos about celebrities.
And something that I truly do try to
remind myself is that these are real
people we are talking about. Just
because someone is an actor, a singer, a
millionaire, or even billionaire, it
does not give us the right to completely
attack them online. Now, even if a
celebrity did something that I disagree
with, I really try to report on it in a
way that is again constructive. Dog
piling on people never works online and
it's not productive for anybody. And
these stories that myself and other news
outlets are reporting on might be
content to us, but these are people's
real lives that we are discussing. And
ultimately, we have got to stop treating
women as collateral damage in the
stories that we are reporting. And I'm
absolutely not perfect. I have made some
stories that I really regret reporting
on. But as an entertainment reporter, I
am trying to do my best every day to
report with integrity and with empathy.
So, I really did appreciate Kayla
Nicole's interview as an entertainment
reporter myself. Moving on to Selena
Gomez this week, she said that she does
not hire traditional models for rare
beauty. She said she wants the people
that she hires to feel realistic and
like they could be your best friend. I
totally get what she meant by that. She
wants her brand to feel real and
attainable for the average person. But I
got to be honest, it came off a little
bit shady and she got a lot of backlash
for it because calling models
unrealistic can sound like you're
putting them down. Again, at the end of
the day, superm models are real people,
too. I think Selena's heart was in the
right place, but maybe the phrasing just
wasn't right. And then, of course, just
one day after Selena said this, Haley
Bieber posted something that people
thought was a direct response. Here's
what she posted. Do I think that Haley
was responding to Selena? Yes, probably.
To be honest, I don't think the saga
between Haley and Selena is ever going
to stop. And if I'm being really honest,
I think the more that we talk about them
two being pitted against each other, the
better it is for them. All press is good
press. If we are talking about Selena
Gomez and Haley Bieber, whether it's
positive or negative, the attention is
currency for them. So, yes, I do think
both Selena and Haley will make little
comments here and there in interviews or
on social media to get people wondering
if they are shading each other just to
get people to continue talking about
them. and in the end they both win
because again attention is currency in
this business. Okay, story number eight
for this week is Nobody Wants this
season 2. I absolutely love this show. I
binged it in 2 days. And let me just say
as a non-Jewish woman who dated a Jewish
man for 2 years. I totally get this
show. It is so realistic that I am
convinced they wrote the show about my
ex and I because I'm going to be honest,
religion and conversion was a big topic
in my past relationship. And I know that
so many people can relate to this
dynamic. So, it's really cool seeing it
displayed on a TV show. The show is
loosely based on the creator, Aaron
Foster's real relationship. I've seen a
lot of people criticizing the ending of
season 2, saying that it ended the exact
same way that season 1 did, but I
actually think that the ending of season
2 is set up perfectly for season 3
because obviously Joanne has come to the
conclusion that she's ready to convert
to Judaism. I understand the comparisons
between the season 1 finale and the
season 2 finale where Joanne and Noah
break up, but then they come to this big
realization that they still love each
other and they want to make it work no
matter what. I understand the
comparisons, but season 1 was more so
Noah saying, "I don't care about the
religion. We'll figure that out later. I
just want to be with you." Ultimately
ignoring the overarching problems in
their relationship. Kind of living in
this La La Land delusion that everything
will work out and we don't need to worry
about the religion part. But in season
2, Noah realizes that he really wants
Joanne to convert, or else they really
have no future together. And Joanne's
kind of struggling with her decision of
if she actually wants to become Jewish.
But ultimately, she comes to this big
realization in season 2 that the entire
time she's been making small leaps into
becoming Jewish. So, I think season 3 is
going to be all about her converting and
really starting this journey of Judaism.
I absolutely loved Leon Mester's cameo
in season 2. She nailed it as Abby. Her
character was so funny. The best part
was when Noah said, "She's not my type
to Abby." Knowing that in real life,
Adam Brody is actually married to Lane
Mester. Morgan and Sasha's friendship is
cool. I feel like they have similar
personalities, but I do not want them to
become romantically involved in season
3. I'm actually going to be really upset
if that happens. I really liked Esther a
lot more in season 2. She's a lot more
likable. It did make me really sad that
her and Sasha are going to be
separating, but I want them to work it
out. And again, I do not want Sasha and
Morgan together. That is just going to
be so weird. I'm rooting for Sasha and
Esther. And I don't know how long we're
going to have to wait for season 3. I
wish the episodes were longer, and I
wish there were more episodes in each
season. Our next subject is the ultimate
mess that is Ticket Master. Of course,
they're in the news again. Fans bought
tickets to Ariana Grande's upcoming
Eternal Sunshine tour, and these tickets
were not easy to get. And unfortunately,
a lot of Ariana's fans had to buy
tickets from resellers. Some of these
resellers were selling tickets for
outrageous prices. And Ariana addressed
it in an Instagram story a few months
ago. She said that she and her team were
doing everything they can to fix the
issue with scalpers and resellers. So
now, in an effort to stop scalpers from
reselling tickets at outrageous prices,
Ticket Master has started cancelling
tickets altogether. But the problem is
they're cancelling tickets that belong
to actual Ariana Grande fans. Fans are
obviously so upset because it took
blood, sweat, and tears to get these
tickets only for ticket master to cancel
them. Between Hidden Fees, bots, and now
this, Ticket Master is singlehandedly
sucking the joy out of live music. I
feel so bad for the fans. They deserve
better. And I hope that there's some
sort of solution for them because this
is so not fair. And finally, our last
topic of today, story number 10, is
Grimes defending Selena Gomez online.
Some trolls were criticizing the way
that Selena looked in her new music
video for In the Dark, and Grimes was
not having it. She posted a lengthy
tweet saying that people are way too
comfortable criticizing women online.
And she is completely right. I mean,
this all ties back to the Bella Hadid
story or the Kayn Nicole story.
Celebrities are real people and we need
to remember that before we go online
saying crazy things about their
appearance. We have normalized bullying
to the point of no return. So shout out
to Grimes for saying what needed to be
said. We really do need more women
standing up for each other online
instead of tearing each other down.
Well, that is all the tea I have to
