When people say, oh, I don't think he can win, it's like,
imagine what we can do when this guy has money behind him.
Because like, look what happened when he didn't have
money behind him.
It's incredible.
I'm Carly Riley.
I am the finance director for Andrew Yang's campaign.
Good morning.
How you doing?
Good morning.
Hello.
Good morning.
How are you?
Hello.
Good morning.
How are you?
I've got to hop off.
Good morning.
So just wondering if a gift of like $500 is something you
could do today.
So since this morning, I have made 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 26,
27, 28.
And now it's number 20.
Hey.
Hello, sir.
My name is Carly Riley.
I'm calling with a group called Fair Fight Action.
We're making sure that folks are registered to vote in the
2020 election.
May I ask a quick question?
I know I'm distracting you here.
I got to ask, so what are your thoughts on Andrew?
Did you, I assume you watched the debates?
Yes.
All right.
What are your thoughts?
I think I need a little bit more specifics.
And I appreciate we need to work on higher education,
because I'm concerned with that.
Well, he certainly wants to pay teachers more.
He says that multiple times.
You know, if you have been thinking about maxing out, we
would really encourage you to do it now.
I know I think you've given like $1,200 or so, or $1,600,
something like that.
And you've got another $1,200 to go to max out for that
primary.
I'm just wondering if that's possible for you.
Every company or organization I've been a part of has worked
a lot better with men and women in leadership positions.
So the fact that our campaign has Carly and other women in
leadership roles, to me, is a necessary ingredient for us to
be able to achieve our goals and perform
at the highest levels.
Wheel's up at 5, 510 you mean?
It's 445 right now.
Hey man, I'm heading over now.
You're going to go with Yang?
Cool.
Hey sir, Carly?
Hey, cool.
A group of folks online, it's honestly like I can't even
remember some of the details now.
I mean, I was doxed, so they posted my phone number
publicly on an online forum.
You know, made all sorts of lewd and inappropriate
comments about me, and tracked down photos of me, and posted
them online.
It was probably a week that this whole thing lasted, and
obviously, I got a new phone, and I took a lot of extra
security precautions.
It is something that men don't face in the public eye,
particularly the kinds of attacks that, or the kinds of
language that was being used, was very clearly targeting a
woman, in part for being a woman.
This campaign was such a safe place for me, and such a
haven.
The team was so supportive, and did everything they could
to kind of reach out and make sure I felt good.
I don't give them more power than they actually had, and at
the end of the day, they don't have the power.
Come on up.
I'll make sure you guys slide on through.
I love connecting with our supporters, and I think I lean
on that, and I really frame fundraising conversations as
just really a point of connection.
I mean, I am asking them for money, but it's also so much
more than that.
It's I'm letting them into what's happening on the
campaign side.
I'm giving them a window into why I love this campaign so
much, and I'm hearing more about why they love the
campaign so much.
And these fundraisers we do, right?
These are people getting the opportunity to interact with
Andrew in a new way, and I think that's fantastic.
Let gangs speak!
It's really about letting the young gangs speak.
