During a conversation about his new album ""Music For People Who Believe In Love,"" Joe Jonas dishes on being the first Jonas brother to invite their youngest brother Franklin to sing on his record. Tune in today for more fun with Joe Jonas.
You also worked with your brother Franklin, not Nick or Kevin.
I saw that on there as well.
First of all, where are you?
I think that is Central Park.
You're on the Great Hill right now.
I think that was somewhere we were skiing together as a family.
But Franklin, he's tapping into music as well.
He's doing really wonderfully.
He's a really talented kid.
It was fun to work with him on this.
I kept hearing his voice when I did this one song, Velvet Sunshine.
So I sent it to him.
I was like, would you be down to do this?
I think his response was just all in caps.
I was like, is that a good thing?
Is that a good thing?
What is that?
He came back and said, no, I would really love to be a part of this.
I was like, great.
It's fun to work with the whole family.
I had to be the first one to do it.
I love that.
I love that secretly when he first got here, he was like,
this is this brother, right?
You were like, wait, what?
Did you misspell my name?
Yeah.
What a talented family.
That's so fun.
I didn't grow up with any one musical in my family to vibe with like that.
That's such a magical, cool thing.
We definitely took it for granted for a while there.
As we got older, we realized this is, what a rarity.
This past weekend, I flew to see my mom for Mother's Day and my grandmother.
We were sitting on our porch where they live now in North Carolina.
Me, my dad, my drummer.
We're just sitting singing old country songs that we grew up singing or church songs.
The fact that back when, when you're a teenager, for me at least, it was rolling in my eyes.
Dad, I don't want to have to sing with you right now.
Now you appreciate those moments.
I know how rare it is that we have that opportunity as a family.
What a blessing it is to be able to perform and create together.
Yeah.
I love that.
