We are out at a private airstrip.
The first race we got here is Porsche 992 Turbo S,
640 horsepower, and we got the Chevy Corvette C8 E-Ray.
I think this is 670 horsepower.
Now this is all-wheel drive.
It's got the hybrid system on the front wheels.
This has all-wheel drive as well, but just all gas.
So both of these cars run, I think, low to mid tens.
Look at the spec on this E-Ray.
Now don't, we gotta also mention
that this is actually a convertible,
but we do have the carbon wheels, and this is the 3LZ.
So this should be the lightest
and most aerodynamic convertible E-Ray there is.
Now, of course, the coupe might be a little bit lighter.
We got Yacht Broker, check him out on Instagram,
and the Turbo S.
Jason's running the Turbo S,
and I'm gonna be running the E-Ray.
It took a little bit of finagling
to get the launch control working,
but I got it down now where I know
I can get this launch control.
We adjusted the custom RPMs to 4,000 and a slip of eight,
and you're just gonna hit it and go.
What do you think is gonna happen?
I'm going Turbo S.
You're going Turbo S.
I think you might have it too,
although the launch in this is pretty good.
It felt similar, that.
I've never raced a Vette, so.
You've never raced a Corvette.
I'm gonna put the drag in,
so we'll get the stats on the E-Ray.
I do think you might have a little more top end,
because I think I saw a previous video where the Z06,
which, by the way, we do have a Z06 right there,
and we will do Z06 versus E-Ray as well.
Really, really cool spec.
Check out Yacht Broker on Instagram.
Thanks for bringing this out.
Really, really appreciate it.
All right, we gotta beat the Turbo S, right?
Gotta beat the Turbo S. I'm going for it.
I'm going for it.
Go Chevy.
All right, so we're gonna line up here in a few seconds,
and we're gonna give this thing a shot.
We'll do two out of three.
All right, here we go.
First race.
Launch control is enabled.
Oh, we're off.
I got the Turbo S off the line.
Oh, we're off.
I got the Turbo S off the line.
Oh, he's coming by.
Well, I think he got me at the end,
but let's see what the quarter mile did.
0.60 was 2.8, so with rollouts, probably better than that.
And we ran a 10.7.
We're off.
I got the Turbo S off the line.
Shit.
All right, here we go.
We got round two against the Porsche.
He caught me at the end.
Let's see here.
Hold on one second.
Let me adjust this stuff.
I want to go to the options.
Custom.
4,000.
Okay.
I think the battery on the all-wheel drive
was not charged all the way,
and it ran way slower, like 11.29.
I got him off the line again, but oh, he's passing me.
I don't know what happened right there.
So I don't know what the deal is with that.
Charge on 43%.
So 11.2 in the quarter mile
because the battery was depleted.
I got to figure out a way to keep the battery up on this
for the Tiber to do it again.
So I should drive it to make it charge faster?
Yeah.
Okay.
It says.
Oh, I see.
Look at that.
You have to drive it.
You can't let it sit.
Okay.
So apparently in that first race,
I didn't have the charge button activated.
So when slowing down for regen or just driving around,
the E-Ray was not charging up.
So I had to take it down the street for a little bit,
get that battery charged.
Once moving, it charges up real quick
in just about a minute or two.
All right, here we go.
Turbo S versus E-Ray.
Convertible.
Ah!
0-60 on that one.
2.83.
Fuji.
60.
Let's go!
Adios!
Still, not bad for the E-Ray,
given the price difference.
$100,000 more.
