Another week, another thrift haul, and many more treasures to show you.
I had planned on doing a combined haul of clothing, accessories, and home decor, but
I ended up finding a lot more this weekend than I realized, and sometimes I just get
lucky like that, and other times you just don't find as much.
But I feel like in the last video we jam-packed a lot in that one with a combined haul, so
I thought I would separate this one with just some home decor items I found.
And don't you worry, if you care more just about the clothes, I totally get it.
And that haul will be up right after this one.
I'm pretty sure we ended up hitting about four different estate sales this past weekend,
and then of course you know I had to pop into my Goodwill and another local thrift store
I like to pop into about every week as well, and they also have one next door that is just
Christmas items only, so that is also really fun to pop into every once in a while.
And if you are new here, hi, my name is Katie.
Thank you so much for clicking on today's video, and if you are already subscribed to
my channel, thank you so much for hanging out with me today.
Also we got a bit of a different background going on for this haul because over this past
weekend I did totally rearrange my room, so the feng shui is just so much better.
The energy just flows much nicer I think this way, so I am really loving it.
But enough of me rambling because I could go on forever about anything and everything,
so let's get into today's haul.
Let's start with my ducks because these are my prized possessions.
If you watch any of my other hauls, you know how much I love a goose or a duck or a swan.
Really a bird of any kind to be honest, they just speak to me.
So at the first estate sale we went to, I fell in love with this.
It was hanging up on the wall in the bathroom.
It just looks so cutesy and cottagey, very quaint, and I feel like it's a subtle and
again cutesy way to add in some nature to your home decor.
Honestly this is kind of like the feminine version of Bass Pro in a way, it's kind of
the vibes.
The colorway of this is pretty neutral, so it's really cute and easy to hang up anywhere
in the home.
But when do you ever see them making cute decor like this anymore?
Maybe they do and I'm just totally unaware, so let me know in the comments down below.
And then we got my big ol' blue duck.
I love him so dearly and this house definitely decorated in kind of a hunting style and they
loved their ducks, so I appreciate them.
I like that he's a bit bigger, so a bit more of a statement piece and also because it is
in the little bit brighter blue color, but still this color is kind of a neutral to me.
I don't know.
And he also has a cute shaped little head, which not all of them are as cute as others.
I like to decorate with little sprinkles of nature in my home decor without it being a
little bit too overboard, so I think this is a fun and playful, but still a little bit
subtle way to do that.
And speaking of nature vibes, but also a little bit beachy is this really unique fish dish
that I found.
I love the coloring on it.
Again, it's a little bit more of a playful color, but still subtle enough.
I guess this would be kind of like a seafoam green and it also has a slight iridescent
sheen to it.
I just thought this was so cool.
I've never seen a fish this style before, where the fin kind of flicks up really tall
like that.
It's a little bit more of a quirky item, but sometimes I like to also decorate in that
style and make it feel a little bit more playful, but still not, again, over the top with it
because something like this in the right spot can really make the space feel cozy and just
quaint and inviting.
I'm not sure quite how I would style this or what I would even put in it, so let me
know in the comments below if you have any ideas, but I'm also always searching on Pinterest
for inspo and that's how I get a lot of inspo for the things I end up buying at different
estate sales or even at my local thrift stores because it really sparks my inspiration and
helps me kind of branch out a little bit and maybe decorate in ways that I haven't thought
of before.
And at that same estate sale, we found this beautiful antique looking mirror and these
aren't always the easiest to find because a lot of the times they are pretty damaged,
but this one was still in fairly good condition and it just feels so sturdy and the detailing
on this is so intricate and beautiful and a lot of the things I buy are not in perfect
condition, but I actually kind of prefer them that way because I feel like they have more
character to them and that they just have that lived in antique look that I just really
appreciate.
And buying items like this are also another fun way to kind of romanticize everyday little
items like a simple mirror and it looks like it says the brand on here is Mattson.
So let me know in the comments down below if you've heard of that brand before.
Also in that same house, we found this solid brass piece and she is heavy duty.
Let me tell you, you could use this as a freaking weapon, but again, love that brass look because
it does make it look so antique and it kind of almost has a fall leaf look to it, which
is obviously so appropriate for this time of year.
For me personally, I feel like there's so many spaces in a home where you need a good
dish to be setting out and can really compliment the space and also perfect for hosting purposes.
Now this is a more practical item I was needing that I picked up at that same estate sale
is this Pyrex measuring cup and we have one in our kitchen already, but I don't know why
I find myself needing two sometimes.
So I had to pick up this and it's still in pretty good condition for such a reasonable
price and I know that the quality of this Pyrex brand is going to hold up really well
and of course I know with more practical items like this, you can just buy them brand new
when you're in need of them, but I wasn't in absolute dire need of this, but there's
something about getting it at an estate sale that I just appreciate so much more knowing
that it's already been used and loved by someone in their kitchen.
And this little item they had hanging up on one of their walls and it was just screwed
in so I just took this little cutie off the wall.
I have no idea what it even is, but it looked a little bit more unique to me.
It almost kind of has a trivet style to it because it has these little prongs on it,
but obviously it's very small in size.
And of course if you watch any of my other hauls, you know my obsession with anything
heart shaped and it also has the pretty floral design on it and it's just such a random little
piece.
I feel like I would never find something like this again in my lifetime.
I love fun little trinket items like this that can really make decorating your home
feel a bit more unique to you.
Also grabbed these potholders because decorating for the fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving
season is my favorite, while summer is my favorite season, fall is a very, very close
runner up.
I love the cute fall leaves on here and the tones of these are still really nice and neutral
and they'll mesh well with a lot of fall decor that we already have up.
And again, another practical item that you can of course buy brand new, but I don't know
what it is.
Something about it being used and loved and decorated with already in someone's home just
it brings me so much more joy.
And not to mention the pricing is just so incredibly reasonable that you just, you can't
beat it.
One thing I love about the Savers near me is they have such a good book collection and
thrifting books can be a little bit overwhelming sometimes if they don't have the right setup
because there's just so many to look at, of course, but they have them separated by genre
and the title is spacing out so you can really kind of skim through them quickly.
And these are books I've been wanting to read that I actually have had in my Amazon cart.
So the fact that I was able to thrift them is just even better.
First up, we have the guest list from Lucy Foley and I love the size of this book and
I really like a paperback book.
The best versus a hardcover just feels better in my hand.
But something about reading a book this size where it's a little bit chunkier is very satisfying.
I don't know.
It's also an easy size to just throw in your purse.
Next I found Behind Closed Doors by B.A.
Parris.
Then I have All Your Perfects from Colleen Hoover and I first discovered her by reading
the book Verity, which is easily one of my favorite books I read.
I like that suspense genre.
I do enjoy quite a few of her books.
They can be quite predictable sometimes, but I don't know, I find myself enjoying the story
most of the time, but I don't know if maybe that's why she gets a bad rep.
I don't know, but thought I would give this one a try.
And lastly is this book, which I saw a trailer for as a series, I think it was, and it looked
really good.
So I wanted to read the book first because most of the time in my experience, the book
is always so much better.
And if you have read any of these books, let me know in the comments down below if you
enjoyed them or let me know what you're currently reading or maybe what your favorite book is
that you have ever read because I am an avid book lover myself.
Another thing I love thrifting are picture frames because I do think you can find some
more unique and antique looking ones like this one, for example, kind of has that brass
gold frame around it.
And I like how it had this leaf pattern going all the way around.
I thought, obviously, again, very appropriate for this time of year to put a cutesy fall
picture in.
I also like to see the history of some old photos people will have framed in their house.
Like this one was from 1957, says from Dixon, Missouri, which I've never even heard of.
Also couldn't resist picking up this cute little basket.
They are such practical decor items to have and I love the quaint little size of this
one and the coloring is so nice and neutral.
Very easy to mesh with a lot of different aesthetics you maybe have going on in the
home.
Next at an estate sale, I had to grab this cute little waist apron.
The detailing on this is so intricate.
It's so soft and feminine and delicate.
So cute to romanticize baking or cooking in the kitchen.
It has the cute frilly trim and the sweetest little flower decor stitching on it.
I love it so much.
It's just in a nice neutral cream color with these pockets in the front.
I just have never seen one this cute before.
I couldn't resist.
This is so precious.
Also at that estate sale, I found the three cutest delicate little hankies.
These are so fun to decorate with.
They're also another nice way to add that little touch of a soft feminine feel.
They really put some of the most precious, delicate details on these.
I love the lace going all along the trim and that they're a little bit more sheer.
But the design on every single one of them are so beautifully made.
I also love any opportunity to decorate with a floral and lacy pattern.
These are so nice to have on hand to decorate with if you need to add some nice layers or
textures.
Also picked up this quilted sleeve for your glasses or sunglasses to slip into.
But I love how this just has that homemade look to it that it just feels like it was
made with love.
And also red is my favorite color.
So this just really spoke to me.
And I just love that you can go into estate sales and never know what you're going to
find and come out with some of the cutest, most random things that you just love and
enjoy so much.
Also had to leave with this mug, which has a Christmassy holiday feel to it.
And I love, of course, that it looks a bit more of a vintage design and I'm pretty much
drinking my tea every morning and sometimes also at night.
So it's just another way to romanticize such a simple little thing in your everyday life.
And in my personal experience, it is not always easy to come across a good mug that
you enjoy drinking out of because they're all designed just a little bit different.
It's got to feel good in your hand when you're drinking out of it in the right size.
So I think this one will be perfect.
Then we grabbed this light plug in from an estate sale because it has that antique look
to it.
As you can tell from the plug cord, it is that old style and the base on it is so pretty
with that brass gold look.
And it just came with this simple light bulb on it, but you could also buy a shade and
stick it over the top of this bulb if I wanted to.
So that's always an option, but we kind of also liked it just simple like this.
We might just replace the bulb where it looks more of a pointed wax look to it.
If you know what I'm talking about, I'll try to insert it on the screen so you get an idea,
but it will also kind of play into the whole overall vibe of this plug in.
It is so nice to have smaller lights like this to decorate with because obviously they
add some nice ambiance and warmth to a space at night.
If you need to set it on a little shelf or somewhere in a little nook in your kitchen
with a cute shade on it, these are kind of perfect to decorate with.
Also bought this smaller size tray, but I thought the picture on it was so cute with
the little vintage looking coffee cups and it says coffee time on one side and cappuccino.
And although I'm not a coffee drinker, I did think this would be cute to set a cup of tea
on and maybe a bakery item over here or a little sandwich or something you make.
And it's just another fun way to romanticize a little everyday moment.
And now we have the items I found by going to two different Goodwills over the weekend.
First up, we have this taller candlestick holder and I love to decorate with candles
anywhere and everywhere.
So it's nice to have some different variation in height.
I thought the base on here was really beautiful and it kind of has a brown, antique-y, brass,
slight gold look to the stand.
So you know that's why I liked it.
But an item like this to place the candle on just makes it overall feel a little more
vibey.
I don't know how else to describe it.
So we actually already have a bigger version of this acorn style decor piece on a table
in the kitchen and they're just so cute to decorate again for the fall season and going
more towards Thanksgiving.
The little acorns are so cute.
So I had to pick up the smaller one to kind of match the aesthetic.
Another item I love thrifting are candles because you can find some really nice ones
that of course have not been used yet for such a reasonable price.
Like this one, for example, is called Santa's Cookies and it is so divine.
It smells like someone is baking.
And I am always lighting candles and especially during the holiday season, they're just so
nice to have and obviously create that warm ambiance at the same time.
So you can never have too many candles in my opinion.
I of course still buy new candles at T.J.
Maxx or HomeGoods because they do have some good ones, but I honestly feel like a majority
of my candles I'm buying the most of are from the thrift store.
I also grabbed this larger candle stand, which I thought would be so nice if I could find
a big chunky candle to sit on there because you never see them where it's this wide.
And I also like this kind of gold color it has going on, but with items like this, you
can easily spray paint them to whatever color you need them to be.
So maybe if you like the design but not the color, just keep that in mind.
But I could also put three smaller candles on here, but I don't know, I just thought
a big chunky one, if I could find it, would be so pretty sitting on here.
Also how freaking adorable is this duck that I found with its cute little knitted hat and
matching scarf?
I mean to die for, this is so precious.
This is another one of those cutesy, quirky things to set out for the holiday season.
And I didn't know exactly what I would put in here for this little cutout, but my mom
was like, you should just stick some cute little candy canes out of there.
And I was like, you know what?
You're so right.
I think that would be really cute.
But if you have any other ideas, feel free to let me know down below in the comments.
Again, I have another dish that I found in this darker wood tone and I like the shape
of it, how it's much more shallow.
And then on the inside here, it has this really cool fish design.
So again, another way to kind of add that nature-y aesthetic.
I just love decorating with these kinds of styles because they just have that homemade
lived in look to them.
And sometimes I kind of just like to have them on their own with nothing inside of it.
It's just kind of a little cute statement piece sitting on a shelf or even on a table,
just in a little spot.
These can make it extra cute.
I don't know how, but I have been out here manifesting the leopard lamps.
These are so hard to come across and this is now my fourth leopard style lamp that I
have found.
So I feel very blessed.
I like that the base is a taller, skinnier style.
It's kind of a dark brown color, so it does match with the leopard lampshade pretty well.
I definitely don't think this is the original lampshade.
I think someone maybe bought this separately, but I do think the overall vibe together is
quite nice.
I kind of actually like that the lampshade itself is a bit smaller for how long the base
is.
And I am just a leopard loving girlie, so if you watch any of my hauls, you have to
know that by now.
So of course, as soon as I saw this, this immediately went into my cart.
And it's kind of hard to find home decor items with leopard on them.
Obviously, you can find them much easier in clothing items and on more accessories like
purses, for example, but styles like this for home decor, much harder to come across.
And you'll probably be seeing much more of this lamp because next to my chair over here,
I think I want to put a little table similar to my last background setup I had, and I think
I want to put this lamp maybe over there, but we'll see.
And lastly to show you is this much larger in size woven basket.
It's kind of in a chest design, which I've never really seen one like this before, so
I just fell in love with it.
And this iron looking detail on the front is really what takes it to the next level
and makes it look a bit more unique.
It has that brassy brown antique look to it, so you know I love that.
And it's a pretty decent size on the inside, so you can definitely fit quite a bit in here,
but it's so much more fun to decorate with a piece like this, where it just has so much
more character to it versus just a boring old plain style box.
This is just so cool, I thought.
But that's it for today's thrift haul.
I hope you enjoyed, and honestly there's something magical about bringing new pieces to life,
whether it's finding a little treasure at an estate sale or at my local thrift stores.
And personally, thrifting is so much more than just regular shopping to me.
It is the thrill of it all, the whole experience and coming across items that you maybe didn't
even realize you needed or they sparked a little bit of inspiration in you.
And there truly are so many nice quality items still out there that are in great condition
for such a reasonable price that you can thrift, and they have more character to them that
you don't necessarily always have to buy everything brand new.
I love when I come across those more antique and unique looking items because they really
bring me so much joy, you just don't see them as often, and also the practical ones too.
But I hope this video was able to spark some joy for you as well.
And if you like this style of video, please be sure to give it a thumbs up and subscribe
down below if you are not already.
Thanks for tagging along with me today, and I should have a thrifting clothes and accessories
style haul going right up after this one, so make sure you stay tuned for that one.
But I love you, and I will see you in my next video.
