PENALTY HERO Kobel ｜ Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Borussia Dortmund 3-5 ｜ Highlights ｜ DFB-Pokal 2. Round

A round-two clash worthy of a final. Eintracht Frankfurt against Borussia Dortmund. Two former winners with strikers in the mood. Jonathan Burkhardt and Maxi Bayer looking to build on weekend goals in the league. Mario Götze facing his former team where he was a cup winner. A tantalising clash ahead in Frankfurt. Switch of play here from Nico Schlotterbeck for Raison. He's kept it in play and finds Ady Amey looking to kill one. These two great names have met in a cup final before, back in 2017. It was Dortmund who celebrated then. Otto Teat. Robin Koch going long here. Götze onto it and through for Knauf. And he's got Knauf! Fed by Mario Götze, the ex-Dortmund combination has sliced right through their former club. Oh, started with that long ball from Robin Koch, didn't it? And then the loose ball picked up by Mario Götze, whose vision to find Knauf absolutely on point. Onside. And that is some finish. Seven minutes in from Dietlis, number seven. That's Knauf for Götze. And Linz-Dohan, who is looking to come inside and try his luck. Scored two goals on his debut in round one. That's why Frankfurt can be very pleased with the start that they have made to this cup tie. Dohan. Bellingham for company. Lasson for Otto Teat. Who will wind one up from range. And again, it's no problems for Gregor Cobl. And that's got Knauf's goal, the difference, with Borussia Dortmund offering very little in attack in that first half. Bellingham. White here for Reusel. Reusel's cross. Oh, it's absolutely magnificent. And there's Julian Brandt to level. It has not taken them long after the restart. Super cross. You just can't defend those. And Julian Brandt brings Dortmund level. They're much better from Borussia Dortmund in this second half. And it's a much more open cup tie as well. Here's Knauf, all on his own. What's he going to do? Knauf! He's going to test Gregor Cobl. From one end to the other, this cup tie has come alive again. Bellingham squirms loose for Xaibi. Here's Dohan. Looking to come inside again. Dohan! Off the frame of the goal. As they're getting closer and closer here, Eintracht Frankfurt. It's Dohan putting everything behind that. So the end of 90 minutes, extra time may be more needed to decide this one. It's going to be Dohan to swing this in. Borussia Dortmund are there and it's gone in. Moment. Or is he? Flag is up. How close is this? Look at him, number nine. Yeah, that's the right call. It's such a close one, but this is going to get chalked off. They thought they'd found a way through to win this cup tie. Eintracht Frankfurt. Oh, and Nico Schlotterbeek trying his luck to maybe become the hero. Firm head, well saved by Cesaro. And so penalties, it will be here in Frankfurt. They have been 100% Borussia Dortmund so far. And Felix Metscher to send them closer to the round three. Strokes it in. No pressure, no problem. And so this has to go in now from Faris Xaibi. Never scored a penalty in the Bundesliga. Or can Gregor Cobol stop him? It's Xaibi and Cobol saves it. It's Dortmund who progress. Gregor Cobol, their hero. A tight and tense cup tie decided in the most dramatic way.
