Perugia vs Modena | Highlights | Italian Volleyball League 2025

This is Perugia. Agustin Lozere serving for Perugia. We are underway. Tiziualu with the first set. Oh look at that one. Tiptoeing along the tape. Giannelli sends it out wide and it's put away by Demon Surfer in his own right. But the first ball's good. Oh to the middle but well kept up. Two points in a row for Modena. Oh look at that. Oh big side out. That's going to stay up as well. For 18-15. No. Denied. Colacci does well. Oh wonderful. Great defensive effort but how about that from Bentada. Now can the captain have a say? Another perfect pass. Will this go away? No but Bushiga puts it back towards Tiziualu. Another block touch. Now into transition. This to level. Ishikawa blocked. Oh they had to play it. Great dig. This is outstanding. But no venom on the swing. And it's off the hands. Kamil Semenyuk. Really find the moments to separate themselves on the also rams. And there is why. Kamil Semenyuk delivers. Their attack not as efficient as Modena's. 44%, 48%. Oh that's tight to the net and a free ball. Will this go down? Oh you bet it will. Better ball in. Where does Tiziualu go? He goes to the middle. Oh and he runs into Lozek. Can he take it all the way? No. But he's created a free ball. Simply stunning from Semenyuk. And off the hands goes Ishikawa. David Skiba really got something going from the service line in the first. What will the second bring? It'll bring a first ball side out. Nicely done. Oh is that in? You bet it is. Wow. Cross-court Bentara. Good first touch and it goes to Gianelli. Oh the side out's good. The pipe is good. Perry into Tiziualu. Trying to run the pipe. Kolachi equal to it. Now an opportunity. Oh it's a great recovery. A great recycle and a great dig by Perry. Oh my. And he's got again Perry. The Australian forces the ball over and that is a monster block and a massive point from Modena. Two unbelievable apps from Luke Perry. This one. Oh what a serve. What a... Oh the chase is incredible. Modena absolutely thriving. Perugia need this. Perugia get it. Go again in the third. David Skiba. Another great serve from him. Oy. Monster. Little duck down on two. Simone Gianelli. Ball into Tiziualu. A great swing on the angle. Who else but Luka Poru. And we change ends. First swing of the set is off the hands and it is Modena. Just keep your powder dry. I've got a feeling this set might be a bit more closely contested than the first two. That's a great serve. It's over on one. Ishikawa. Terrible first touch. This might cost them the point. Not yet. Will Ishikawa get another go? No. They go the other way. And Semenyuk. Great pick up. Back court Ishikawa. Hands over and Ishikawa's there again. To the middle. Another shoulder up. That 11-9. Modena just about hanging in there. But is it my imagination or a Perugia just taking it up a level now? Needs to deliver. Oh monster block. Modena. It's all ready. Well rescued. Great hands. And now an opportunity. Is the sun shining on Modena? Oh Kolachi. This is magnificent. This is volleyball. Ishikawa. Perry forced out wide. Warp tape stick. 21-18. Another great serve but it's dug. Oh Luke Perry. The miracle man. And that one off the net. Oh allows Ishikawa to come through on the pipe. Let's have some more of that. Beautiful volleyball. Beautiful volleyball. The final set of the match. Big set incoming. The captain Anzani serving first. In it goes to Gianelli and down it goes from Lozet. 10-13. Oh it's well done. And this is where the best teams. It is 15 games and three years since they've done it. Such a good touch. But will it be good enough to deny Perugia? No is the answer. Kamil Semenuk. That one poked backcourt but Perugia read it and then there's the chance to send it to Lozet. The Argentinian. Think about all the leadership in this group as well. Lozet off to the captain of Argentina. Can't be the captain of this team because the captain of the Italian. Outstanding. Oh we're brilliant. Goditsky. Oh wow. What's that come off? Got a swing but the block is waiting. Bentana. There have been so many body part ups. I mean that's brilliant. Yeah Porro has to have his ski back. Absolutely wears that one but does a great job. Three blockers up. None of them can get a touch and unfortunately for Modena they get a touch on that Plotnitsky swing. He has come in focused hasn't he? Seriously focused. Oh so good. Surely it is too much now. Oh goodness me. It is definitely too much now. Lozet win their next game. This to stay in the match. Iqbali. Oh my goodness. What a Sanguinetti. To stay in the game. The serve has missed. Perugia have won. A brave performance from Modena. Just not strong enough on the night. They won the second set. They deserve to win the second set but on the balance of power. Perugia too powerful, too big, too strong, too good.
