DIY Home Warehouse was a chain in northeast Ohio that operated from 1984-2001, Home Depot and Lowe’s ultimately caused the chains demise. This Warren location is apparently now used for the Ohio Cabinet Outlet, and left its original signs up.
before I begin this video I want to
thank my latest donator Dan thank you so
much Dan for your donation that helps
out the channel if you guys want your
own shout out for a donation you can
donate to lid
Wetzel um on cash app it's one word
thank you so much and enjoy the
video so I was just at the Burger King
in Warren and I enough you can see the
Ponderosa behind me that's obviously
abandoned um but I'm here at the DIY
Home
Warehouse so let's go check it
out this place has been closed since
2001 I'm pretty sure cuz the whole chain
closed in 01 so that's probably when
this place
closed
and come on okay so 23 years of this
sign sitting here ripped open like that
Warren do you care at
[Music]
all um it's cool looking though I
mean how often do you see something like
this wonder
if this is
original to this building
or if they just put this here cuz they
don't want people to park
here this is a terrible
shape we got a couple trailers parked
here I like the brick work on
this actually the outside doesn't
look too
[Music]
bad let's look in this window here
oh
wow I sort of Wonder was this place used
as like an
auction
Warehouse I wonder if this this place
has been repurposed before kind of seems
like it
has going walk around this
[Music]
way that's an old sign
[Music]
[Laughter]
was that original to the DIY Warehouse
yeah
this I feel like this
definitely was used in more recent times
cuz that just does not no no for sure
this has not been sitting for 23 years
the trash
cans those
are freshly Chang changed
so something's going on here I don't
know
what
so even though it's a little sketchy
can't be the most sketchy place though
cuz we have this bustling Plaza over
here with Tractor
Supply um I got to do it I got to walk
around the
store every time I do
this I'm like oh my gosh these stores
are so much bigger when you walk around
them than you expect them to be you guys
ready to see what's behind
this big old
store all right it's just a bunch of
dumpsters so
far feels a little bit like walking
around at Kmart
H I love when the backs of these stores
are like a
basically could be like a state park
yeah this building is
really not in too bad of
shape I wonder if that was from
the DIY
Warehouse well that's incredibly
Rusty those a bunch of cigarettes
and just over the fence you have all
kinds of wild
flowers what a contrast
now as I complete my walk around the
building I
realize
that there's a fence in front of
me so I might have to go back around the
way I came but we'll see all right we
made it back around and we're going to
look at the main entrance because I
didn't start there we have our beautiful
sign and then we
have our main entrance
cwg so does this answer my
question Ohio Cabinet
Outlet upon looking up Ohio Cabinet
Outlet
they do have a website but it seems
like they
don't
always have stock in here and that it's
like on an event
basis
however their site lists no future
events so I'm not even sure
if this place is still operating
yeah so that's the former
DIY warehouse and now potentially is a
cabinet place but I'm still not sure and
that will complete my look at the former
DIY Warehouse in
Warren it looks like this
place was or is most recently a Cabinet
Outlet but their website show shows no
events upcoming so I'm not even sure if
they're still in
operation um if anybody has memories of
the DIY Warehouse please let me know
that was pretty cool to see these
vintage
signs um and I'll see you guys on the
next video
