Hi friends!
In today’s video, I’m sharing how I curate my cozy Christmas look for the season 🎄 From pillow pairings to decorative accents, I’m trying to focus on utilizing pieces that will read timeless and be used year after year. I hope you get inspired and enjoy watching!
Hi friends, welcome back to my channel and welcome if you're new.
My name is Sarah, also known as Laugh Love Langella, and in today's video I'm going to
be sharing my curated Christmas lookbook.
I did this for my fall decorating and you guys really enjoyed seeing these items close
up before I actually started to decorate with them.
This is just going to highlight some of the things I'm planning to use within my home.
It does primarily focus on my living room because that kind of defines the rest of the
house for me.
So I hope you guys enjoy.
First I'm going to share a couple of new pieces that I have been waiting on in order to film
this video, just a couple of them, and then we're going to get into how I kind of start
off with one item and build off of it for how I plan to decorate my home for the season.
All right, so FedEx finally came with the items I was waiting to show you.
If you follow me over on Instagram, that is where I share more real-time stuff, deals
I find, finds as they roll in kind of thing.
But what I've been waiting on is an order from Magee & Co. and as I had mentioned before,
I'm leaning more into color this year and wanted to do more of a pop of red and I came
across this beautiful print.
They had a stocking, a pillow cover, and a throw blanket and I grabbed one throw pillow,
one throw blanket, and then two stockings because last year I tied in my stockings with
some neutral knit ones that I have, planning to do the same thing, but instead of the green
ones that I used, I wanted to do this because I thought that this would be such a pretty
pop against the mantle for Christmas.
So I grabbed these here.
This is the pillow cover.
It's a 22 by 22.
So I love using 22 by 22 for my backs and then 18 or 20 for my fronts and then you always
add two inches to your cover for your insert size.
So this is a 22 by 22 and my insert will be 24 by 24 to give it a really full look.
And then the throw, it is thinner.
It's not a super thick, you're going to sweat in it throw, but this is the perfect like
take the edge off type.
It is so, so pretty.
So again, we have this same color, but it reverses as well.
So for early Christmas decorating, I'm going to use this side.
I'll probably actually put it on my green swivel chair because I think that will be
really pretty, bringing that more traditional green and red together.
And it has this fringe detail on the edge as well, but I thought these were so incredibly
pretty.
So I wanted to give them a close up moment, but now we are going to lay everything out
on the table.
Same as last time.
And I'll talk you through how I kind of connect all these pieces together.
So like I mentioned in my fall version of this video, I always love to start off with
my textiles and have a jumping off point for the rest of what I'm planning.
I'm going to utilize this same plaid pillow cover.
This was from Pottery Barn that I used for fall, but it has a lot of great green and
red tones as well that we can lean into for Christmas.
This does come in two other color options.
There is a more blue centric and a green one if you're interested in that.
But this is our jumping off point for Christmas decorating.
So pulling from the red here, I have this patterned throw from a geankode that I just
shared.
It literally came in today.
It is a little bit of a darker red than this one in the plaid, but this line going across
here is slightly darker, so they're not conflicting with each other.
I was originally going to leave this out for early Christmas decorating, but I might just
lean into it, let it rock, because this is a beautiful deep red color.
This is what I've been trying to find each year.
It gives me a very vintage inspired type of look that I really enjoy.
So we're going to bring this in.
And then I also found this nutcracker pillow from HomeSense.
This one is like a tapestry style.
I had said needlepoint or something in a previous video because I was blanking out.
I always appreciate when you guys correct me, but this has a lot of the colors that
are in that plaid as well.
So I like to have something to kind of steer me in a direction and then work off of it.
Another fun addition I picked up, I actually found on eBay because I found somebody else
share this from the UK, an account on Instagram, and I managed to do a Google image search
and find this, but I did recently find one at HomeGoods that was super similar in style
to this with a little pocket detail.
It wasn't exactly the same as this, but I thought this was so fun.
And again, bringing in the pop of red, but in a subtle fashion and just a fun touch for
the season.
As far as other textiles, we love a good throw blanket.
This is that reversible one from McGee and Co. that matches the throw pillow.
So it has the same print on one side and it's inversed on the other.
So for early Christmas decorating, this side is going to be the perfect touch to tie in
with everything else going on.
And certainly, last but not least, I love bringing in faux fur throws into the mix.
Try to say that five times, facts.
This adds a lot of texture and visual interest.
I have this dark brown one that is older from HomeGoods, but I also have a cream one from
Target years ago, and I just got a new one from Pottery Barn as well that is super soft
and cozy, but you can never go wrong with these.
The next thing I love to focus on are my greenery.
I especially love for both Christmas and winter decorating to use a lot of evergreens.
These cedar stems I actually got at a boutique last year, but I found a nearly identical
one from Afloral that I can actually link this year, which is super exciting.
It is an investment stem, but these are super big.
I love it.
I shared this in my early Christmas entry styling video and did it with three stems
just so you guys can reference the fullness factor, but I love this.
I also love bringing in some juniper stems.
This is the bundle from Pottery Barn that is so pretty.
It has the nice, soft, muted blue tone on it, and this is, again, perfect touch for
the season, and I can use this for both Christmas and winter styling.
Now I'm not going to dive into every single stem I own right now because this could be
an excessively long video, but I love integrating more natural, organic-looking stems as well
like these pinecone and twig ones.
These were a clearance find from Afloral.
They are no longer available, unfortunately, but if you can find something like this, that
would be really great to add into the mix.
For after-Thanksgiving decorating, I love to utilize red berry stems.
These are older from Hobby Lobby.
They unfortunately did not bring them back.
For early Christmas decorating, I like to stick to the juniper or do a white option
instead.
I will try to find some similar red berries to link down below that are still available
for you.
Now, I was mentioning earlier about my stockings.
I have my neutral bases that I love to work with each year.
This one is older from Studio McGee Target, and this one was from Hearth and Hand at Target.
So I love to have these as my base and work off of it, and we just utilize stocking tags
to assign stockings each year.
I previously have paired these with a windowpane type check green one that was also older Target,
but like I said earlier, I picked up this red one so I could have these three all together
on my mantle and really bring in that more nostalgic, traditional Christmas in my own
way.
This is going to look different for everybody, no matter what decorating style you go with,
but this is how I don't have to buy new stockings every year, but can still change the overall
look and feel of how I'm decorating for the season.
And this is the stocking tag that I use each year.
It is this pretty faux leather in a green color.
I actually DIY'd these with my Cricut and did a gold heat transfer vinyl on it.
So I have these for all of us.
I'm going to have to make one for Cyst this year, which is super exciting.
I still have plenty of roll left, so I'll be able to make that happen.
But we just hang the tags on the stockings to assign them that way.
And it's just a really nice touch, especially if somebody's visiting or something.
I have extras that are blank so that everyone feels welcome.
Another great way to kind of define your space or your styling is ribbon.
So for early Christmas decorating, I've mentioned I like to keep things more neutral.
So I'll go with a cream or a brown ribbon.
And then after Thanksgiving is my defining factor to bring in more pops of color.
So I have this gorgeous deeper red that I will use.
I have floral wire.
That's how I secure it to the things I'm doing.
But this is a great way to change up the look and feel without breaking the bank.
Each year is your ribbon.
And I do keep mine and reuse it year after year.
And we'll just introduce one or more, one or two, sorry, new ones each year.
Just freshen things up.
I actually do have a houndstooth ribbon coming from Germany that I ordered off of Etsy.
And I was hoping it was going to be here for this video.
But it looks like it's going to come in like two days.
So you have to stay tuned and check that out.
But these are really pretty.
These are from the My Texas House Walmart collection.
I will say these are very pricey for how much you get.
Hobby Lobby gives you the most bang for your buck.
And Hobby Lobby has Afraid Edge.
It's not the same colors that these are, but you can get pretty close to it.
So if you're looking for something more budget friendly, that's a great option.
As far as decorative accents,
I have some favorites that I definitely love to throw in every year.
These are the Our House Twig Deer.
This is the smaller one that they have.
There is an Amazon Look for Less that I do also have.
He's more gold.
This one's a nice like patina bronze look.
Super, super gorgeous.
But the Look for Less is also really great as well.
I'm definitely looking to add some horses into the mix as always.
This is a vintage one that I got from my friend Kate's shop, Grayon Elm.
I think he's so cool.
He's actually a container, which is really fun.
So he's definitely going to be thrown into the mix, might throw a ribbon on his neck.
But a classic Christmas touch is a brass rocking horse.
You can find these antique shopping.
I will have some options linked on Etsy.
They are a great alternative if you don't have good antique stores in your area.
But I always love to just utilize those year round, but especially during the holidays.
Bells are another really great addition for Christmas decorating.
These were another Grayon Elm find.
And I utilize this exact set in my early Christmas decorating video.
And I can change out the ribbon to go more neutral.
I went with a red just to keep it traditional.
But you can go any color way that works best for you.
I always love a good seasonal candle as well.
I bought this Autumn Lure one from Anthropologie.
Actually, you can shop the Autumn Lure website or Anthropologie carries some of them.
And that's where I grabbed this one.
This is Noel.
And I use this in my early Christmas entry video too.
It's a nice fresh scent.
Definitely has potency is not the right word.
A more defined boldness than the autumn one had in my personal opinion.
But the vessel is so pretty.
I did actually order the new one, Joy.
It's a beautiful red colored glass.
So I'm super excited.
That's actually coming tomorrow.
So I'm hoping to use that in my living room decorating as well.
And then I also love to add some trees into the mix.
This is the Pottery Barn tree that matches the Twiggy Reindeer.
They're the bronze sculpted.
That's what it's called.
I was blanking out of what they are.
But these are one of my go-tos every year for decorating.
They have a bunch of different sizes of them.
This is the new smallest size that they came out with.
But I also love to decorate with driftwood pieces.
This is one that is part of a set from our house as well.
But I have found some look for less versions at home goods of these.
And I have a couple of myself.
They're great.
I also have some deer.
I'm still on the hunt for more deer as many of you know.
So I'm really hoping I get my hands on more of those.
And then my table is a little too full right now.
So we're moving to the floor for the last part.
Greenery in terms of garlands are always one of my absolute favorites to break out for the season.
This is the Deluxe Cedar from Pottery Barn.
I used in my early Christmas entry video the Kirkland's Norfolk garland as well as
a juniper one that was from Amazon.
But I also got this gorgeous pine cone one from Pottery Barn as well.
It has like a slight brushed gold finish on it.
This is going to look so gorgeous bringing in that organic element again.
I also love decorating with like loose pine cones or the Luminara pine cone candles.
But pine cones I love to add for fall, Christmas, and winter decorating.
So I can carry it longer and get more use out of it.
But I thought that this was so incredibly pretty and I'm super excited to decorate with it.
I went to clean up and totally forgot some things hiding under the table.
But another great way of introducing seasonal touches without going crazy
are little books.
So I have a few of a Christmas Carol.
This brings in a pop of color but also a seasonal touch.
So I have a few different of these.
You can also look for books that are in the colors that you're looking to bring into your space.
I have these gold pine cone candle holders.
I got off Amazon a few years ago now and absolutely love them.
And then for a rustic touch I have these pillar candles.
They're like a bark covered one from Pottery Barn.
And of course we're going to be utilizing plenty of gingerbread collection of Pottery Barn as well.
I got all the houses last year.
Some of them I actually got on sale after Christmas.
So always be sure to check out sales, sign up for emails.
You can score some really great deals.
So that is going to wrap up today's video friends.
I sure hope you enjoyed seeing how I put together my plans for my Christmas decorating.
If you missed my early Christmas entryway styling video I will have that linked down below.
And stay tuned for my next one.
We are going to be decorating my living room and putting up the Christmas tree.
So get excited, get ready, and I hope you will stay tuned for that.
As always thank you so much for taking the time to hang out with me here today friends.
And I will see you in my next video.
Bye!
