>> All right, welcome back. Go to the
program 7 minutes after 1:00 on a
Thursday afternoon. you know, uh during
the break, I'm looking out the window
here and I'm seeing the um the clouds
just rolling in dark dark looking clouds
and I'm thinking, gee, is there going to
rain at all? And um so I took a look at
the WPRI TV channel 12 live color radar
and um no no rain around here. Maybe a
sprinkle out toward the Cape right now.
Uh, but I'm looking at it here and in um
southern Vermont,
southern and central Vermont and um
eastern New York State up into northern
or northeastern New York State. They're
getting a little bit of snow right now.
So yeah, not a lot, but I mean snow
showers occurring uh in those areas and
um so I mean yeah, we're getting toward
that time of year and um nothing to
worry about here. They've already had
snow up on top of Mount Washington, but
uh uh whatever precipitation is out
there uh throughout the region is it's
going to dry up and dissipate fairly
soon. And it's going to get cold tonight
though. You just heard TJ say what 25 to
30°. you ready for that yet? Um,
I'm not I'm not
not ready at all. Not not sure I'm ever
ready for that. By the way, I mentioned
about the 40 airports that are seeing a
reduction in service by about 10% uh
while the U Chuck Schumer
Jeff government shutdown continues. And
I mentioned that Logan Airport is one of
the uh the 40 and I said I didn't know
whether TF Green and Rhode Island was
among the list of 40. It is not. It is
not. I checked it out. So if you have a
flight out of Green, you should be okay.
Um but you might run into some problems
if you're flying out of Logan. I'm
flying out of Logan in February. So
let's everybody get to work. I I don't
normally fly out of Logan, but it's it's
um Logan has become a little bit more
affordable, it seems, for some of the
flights, at least the ones that I take
anyway. So, um Marjorie Taylor Green
said to be looking at a bid for the
White House. What do you think? I love
Marjorie Taylor Green. And you know,
Marjorie Taylor Green says it the way it
is. And she made it clear this week when
she was on the the View. I didn't watch
the view, but I did read a transcript of
uh her appearance. And um
she said, you know, look, a lot of
people, everybody was looking for me to
come here and fight with you people, and
I'm not going to do that. And you know,
we need to find some common ground. And
and they actually did on a couple of
things, not a lot of things. The girl
the the ladies of the view tried to
convince her to become a Democrat, which
she's never going to do. She said, "I
love President Trump." Um, but she was
talking about a lot of the same things I
was talking about yesterday. They got so
many of you angry with me. I can tell
through your email and your your text
messages. Um, that the Republicans need
to start addressing the MAGA issues. Uh,
make America great again. Now, we are
watching as the Trump administration is
doing that. Again, just a actually was
the lead story on ABC just a few minutes
ago about another deal between the Trump
administration and Bobby Kennedy. Look
at Bobby Kennedy go and Dr. Oz, right?
Uh striking these deals to bring down
the cost of medications
uh here at home for Americans. So, um
they are working on a lot of these
things, but they are not communicating
well with the public. When the public
turns on the news at night, they hear
ice raids with masked men uh
disappearing people off the streets and
they hear Trump sending in the military
and blowing up uh innocent innocent
people in boats, fishermen uh down in
the Caribbean, and you know, this is the
kind of stuff they see. You know, making
people starve without food stamps and uh
uh all of this kind of stuff. So, you're
never going to get a fair shake in the
media. You know that.
But the Republican party needs to get
out there and they need to start talking
about how they are addressing a lot of
these issues and they got to pick up
some steam. And I think one way of doing
that is to get rid of the filibuster in
the Senate because if you go you got a
year you've essentially got a year
before the U before the midterms and
you've got to get you've got to get
inflation under control. Inflation is
down a little bit. It's not where it
should be, but it's down a bit. Uh some
prices are are down. I was at Walmart.
Um, I buy an over over-the-c counter
drug that I need and I was at Walmart
yesterday and I saw there was there was
a price roll back on it and some prices
are coming down but some are not and
things are very expensive still and um I
know people are freaking out about the
heating season coming up between
electric and and gas rates um you know
medical and
um
you know I happen to belong to the uh
the group out there in Dartmouth for my
medical
and they've been taken over by um by
Brown University and I got to tell you
it's a it's so far it's been a crap
show. I'm not totally impressed with the
way they're running things out there,
but this is our health system and it is
like through the roof. Premiums for a
lot of people are going up. uh not
because of the big beautiful bill, but
because of the um the Biden
um
administration
doing government um
tax credits
to or subsidies to help you afford to
pay for your medical care. Now, if you
live in a society where the government
needs to pay for your medical care,
that's socialism, right? That's
socialism. government shouldn't be
paying for your medical care,
but the the government should make care
make make um sure
that medical care is affordable and
available to people and the
Affordable Care Act didn't do that. As a
matter of fact, it drove up prices for
people to the point where the government
is subsidizing.
So a lot of people that have this
misnomer that somehow or another the big
beautiful bill is right raising their
rates and their premiums and that's not
true. But the Republicans need to get
out there and they got to communicate
that so people understand. Um when we
talk about these subsidies
you know we're talking we're talking
billions and billions if not trillions
of dollars in subsidies that the
taxpayers are are shelling out to
subsidize the health care of a lot of
people in this country and and including
illegal immigrants. That's what the one
of the big beefs is on the um
on the shutdown here.
The Republicans don't want to subsidize
health care for um illegal immigrants
and and they don't believe that there
should be government subsidies anyway.
There shouldn't be any need to. They
need to rewrite um healthc care
legislation that makes healthc care
affordable to everybody that needs it.
You know the problem, we spoke about
this last week. When you when you
mandate something, when you say
everybody's got to have this
immediately, the price is going to go
up. Everybody has to buy this whether
you want to or not, like healthcare,
everybody has to have this. So the
prices go up immediately
and you know the so the premiums are
high for people and they're not getting
I mean the the health care system in our
country right now has turned into what
you might expect healthcare to be like
in a socialist country
and it's collapsing under its own
weight.
How many of you remember, if you're as
old as me, maybe you remember uh doctors
doing house calls? Can you remember
being young, a kid, and having the
doctor coming to your house with his
doctor bag and uh and and visit your
house? Now, that may not be practical
today because of um
the number of people that that are in
this country. Uh you know, we have a lot
more people here than we did in the
early 60s. But one of my good friends
who lives in Vermont, her dad was a
doctor down in um in Philadelphia.
before he died a couple of years ago. He
still did still did house calls right up
until the end. So I guess it is doable.
But that's how personal healthc care
was. And you would have a doctor, right?
You'd have a family doctor that you saw
that your parents saw before you.
Probably your grandparents saw before
them. And it was the family doctor.
I mean, there were there were, you know,
the baby doctor, the the the general
practitioner that had an office in town
and you'd go and you'd see that. Now,
again, that might be
this might not be practical today with
the number of people that we have, but
um I don't know, maybe if we made the
medical profession
uh a little less expensive and and and
stressful uh to be in, maybe we'd have
more doctors. But family doctors, family
practices, remember that you go see a
doctor. I don't I can remember Dr.
Stimson. I can remember Dr. Mler. I can
remember Dr. uh my god, who were some of
the other Saunders? Um you know, so many
of the other doctors that my family was
involved with seeing over the course of
the years. Um I remember Dr. Woodcock
took out my tonsils when I was a kid and
you'd go to their office. You'd actually
go to their office. You didn't go to a
big medical people warehouse out in
Dartmouth or or some place like that and
you become a number and and uh you know
just another appointment on the ledger
and uh you know you speak to some woman
um
and then she whacks your ATM card and
and there you go you're all set. You go
sit over there and wait for the doctor
to call you. It wasn't like that.
But we made a big monstrosity out of our
health care system and we made it
mandatory where everybody's gonna have
healthcare and it drove up the prices
and but I mean you know with lawsuits
and uh and um malpractice and all these
other different kind of things and and
and so much government interference we
made it impossible for doctors to stay
in business and have private practices.
Even a lot of the doctors that um are
involved in these uh you know places
like Hawthorne and and some of these
others have gotten out of the business
because it's just too became too too
much too much of a burden. You got to
see a million patients a day um in order
to uh
in order to you know cover your expenses
or to make some money and you should be
able to make money as a doctor. You
should be able to make money. It's I
mean that's a that's something you spend
your entire life
Right. You go to how many years do you
spend in college and then your entire
life you're constantly learning and and
um it's it's a it's a big commitment.
Right.
So I think you know doctors should make
a lot of money. You know it's
unfortunate. I haven't seen my physician
in I can't remember how long I see the
nurse practitioner. And to be be
perfectly honest with you, I'd prefer it
anyway. Um because my doctor has to see
so many people that when I go in to see
him, he's standing there with his hand
on the door knob
looking at his watch. The nurse
practitioner has more time to spend with
me. So, um and I've seen her for so many
years, I'm just so used to it. When she
said, you know, the doctor would like to
come in to see you. I'm like, you know
what? Let's just keep it the way it is.
I like this arrangement better. Um
I don't know how the hell we got on
healthcare, but um Marjgery Tilly Green
anyway is um can reportedly this this
reportedly um not us.org. There was a
piece about it uh not us.org
and um number of sources reporting that
she's thinking about her run for the
presidency in 28. And if you listen to
what she's been saying and and Marjorie
Taylor Green has been true to her
message from day one that the American
people didn't vote for MAGA
um you know to to be doing um wars
or to be you know doing foreign policy
and everything. MAGA make America great
again. America first.
And
I mentioned this yesterday. I can't
believe I got so much push back on on
social media, uh, email,
um, text message from people who felt
I'm I'm abandoning MAGA or I'm
abandoning the administration. The
administration's done so much. I agree.
The administration's done a lot. But
here's the reality of it. This is the
reality of it. I'm not lying to you.
This is the truth.
People who vote today, with the
exception of the older folks, right? old
people, middle-aged people who have been
voting, you know, the same party
forever, they will stay true more times
than not. But the younger people that
are coming up, I don't even know what
the hell we're talking now. generation
X, Z, Y, Q. I'm not I'm not even quite
sure where we're at at this point, but
um
the younger ones in particular, and you
probably have some of these in your
family, or maybe you're you're in these
groups yourself, young 30s, late 20s.
They work work work work around the
clock and they cannot get ahead. They're
just about making it. Just about making
it. They can't afford to buy a house.
$650,000 for the average house, single
family home in Massachusetts right now.
That was the the figure for u I believe
it was for September. I haven't seen the
October number yet. Uh should be out any
day, but the average price in in
September, $650,000.
Now, think about that. By the time you
you um you know pay lawyers fees and
closing costs and home inspectors and
all the different things that you got to
pay plus interest on that loan, you have
just taken on a million dollar in debt.
Now, who at 29, 30 years old wants to
take on a million dollars in debt? I
certainly would not.
And when you think about the the down
payment that you got to come up with to
pay that.
So, here's what I'm saying. my advice to
the administration.
And it's funny after I said this
yesterday, so I saw so many videos of I
saw conversation with Bill O'Reilly and
Dick Shown yesterday uh when I got home
last night and they were talking about
the same thing. Um that Trump, and it's
not even Trump, it's the Republican
party in general. The Republican party
risks losing the midterms next year
unless they can accomplish
and let people know that they're making
progress on the important issues facing
them. Energy,
food prices, gas prices, housing.
And if they don't
make progress on those issues by
November of next year, they're going to
lose the midterms because again, the
younger people are not committed to
party like our generation and the
generation before us and so on and so
forth. They vote for the people who were
going to they're going to get the best
deal from and that's the way it should
be.
But you've got a very short shelf life
if you don't deliver. They'll jump to
the next party if you are not
delivering. So by this time next year
with the cost of inflation, the cost of
food, the cost of energy, uh the cost of
gas, Trump keeps saying gas is going to
drop below two two bucks a gallon. Well,
okay, let's see it. You got to deliver.
But, you know, it's nice to be doing the
ICE raids. I support them. It's nice to
be doing the National Guard. I support
that. Nice to be, you know, negotiating
peace deals around the world. I agree
with all of that. But that has to be
happening um kind of in the background
while we are doing everything possible
to get legislation passed
to take care of these economic issues.
Now, it's going to be difficult and you
may have to get rid of the filibuster in
order to get this legislation done
because the Democrats are not going to
do any of that. You've see now they're
denying people food stamps, right? So
why are they going to want to lower the
price of gas? Uh, we got to get more
drilling done. We got to get more gas in
the market. I heard last week we had
we're talking about what, $58 a barrel
for oil. Well, why are we still paying
three bucks a gallon for gas? I don't
know what the average price is today. It
was $299 yesterday in Massachusetts.
That's only down 6 cents or or 5 cents
from a year ago at the same time. That's
not a significant decrease.
So, if by this time next year,
the Republican party has not delivered
on its promise to put America first and
deliver on these economic issues,
they're going to they're going to lose
the midterms and they may lose the White
House in 28. Um, all right. 5089960500
is their number. Let me grab a break.
We're coming right back for your calls
on the other.
>> Back to Barry [music] Richard on WBSM.
Call 508996500.
[music]
I was working part time in a five and D.
My boss was Mr. McGee. [music]
He told me several times that he did not
kind cuz I was a bit too lazy. [music]
You see that I was busy doing something
close to nothing but different than the
day before.
[music] That's when I saw her. I saw
her. She walked into the outdoor
outdoor. [music]
>> All right. 1:30 on a Thursday afternoon.
5089960500
is our phone number. And boy, I'll tell
you, watching people walk through the
parking lot, they're being blown around
out there. The at least where I'm
sitting anyway, the the big dark clouds
seem to be moving out and the sun is
coming back. But it is windy and it is
cool. And um the latest weather forecast
they just heard at the top of the hour
uh from the WPR. Oh yeah, I'm looking
right now. It's 52 degrees out with a
feels like of uh
what it feels like of uh
with it feels like of 47.
Okay. And um and it's breezy
and at least right here where I'm
sitting on the neck, you've got winds
right now about 18 miles an hour. And so
that makes it feel cool. And the let me
just since I got into this now, I may as
well finish it. Uh the um
WPRI
TV channel 12 weather center says it is
going to drop down to 25 to 30 degrees
tonight in our area. So that's that's
pretty chilly. And then 60s on Saturday.
62 on Saturday. Can't beat that with a
stick, right? That's not too bad, right?
Friday 55. Saturday 62. Uh but then get
ready because next week it's going to be
cold. Only temperatures in the 40s
northern highlands. [sighs]
All right. Um Thanksgiving is coming up
what, three weeks from today, as I
mentioned. A lot of folks are worried
about um a lot of things, a lot of
things to worry about these days. You
notice that? A lot of stress for people.
Uh whether you can afford your utility
bills. Um anybody holding off on putting
the heat on right now? We we've been
fortunate. We haven't had to put the
heat on uh yet. And we're not freezing
either because I don't freeze. You know
me, I like warm weather. So, if it's
cool in the apartment, the um the heat
goes on. But I haven't had to put it on
yet. And we are south facing
um and we get a lot of sunshine during
the day. So, as long as the sun's out,
the apartment stays nice and warm and it
it captures the heat and it stays in
there. So, that's that's pretty good so
far. But I know a lot of folks uh
particularly if you've maybe faced north
or east or if you have a drafty house to
begin with, you've probably had the heat
on a few times now. And um
have you
debated putting it on?
Got a friend who owns a house out in
South Dartmouth and she said on social
media the other day, "It's cold out, but
I'm not putting the heat on till
November 1st." I remember those days
owning the house, right? And then, you
know, you put sweaters on and you dress
in sweatpants and everything else to
stay warm rather than put the heat on
until finally you have to, right?
Finally, you got to put it on for the
first time. Um,
but I mean, anybody resisting the heat,
telling the kids, uh, put on a scarf,
put on some gloves
because you're afraid once you get
started, right? Once it goes on, it
stays on. It doesn't go off until
spring. And um you know, I know folks
that had huge utility bills last winter
and you're hearing about the rate
increases for this winter coming up are
probably um probably freaking out about
what it's going to cost you. So, we've
got that kind of stress and we got the
stress about, you know, three weeks from
now is uh um Thanksgiving. Good news,
though, on the the food front. The price
of turkeys expected to be lower.
and uh the food associated with them
with putting on a Thanksgiving dinner
expected to be lower uh this year than
last year. Um so that's good. I've seen
a lot of food out already in the
supermarkets.
Um you know, they they put the stuffing
out and the cans of cranberry sauce and
all that kind of stuff. They get it all
out there and um you know, people t tend
to stock up. I know when we used to do
Thanksgiving at my house, we did it for
25 years at at our house and you know,
you do shopping and you stock up on
stuff a little bit at a time in advance.
It was not such a a huge sticker shock
all at once when you when you got to go
out and
and uh and get the stuff for your meal.
We used to feed half the city right on
Thanksgiving Day at my house. But um um
so people are stressing about that and
stressing about the cost of Christmas
gifts coming up or you know how much
money you give to people or how much you
put on gift cards. By the way, I wrote a
piece I think it was up yesterday on
WBS.com about the five most popular
gift cards for the holidays in
Massachusetts. Uh the ones that
everybody's buying. So, if you're
wondering what to get somebody and
you're thinking maybe a gift card would
be nice, you can go take a look right up
there on wbsm.com
and you can see what the the the five
most
desired gift cards are for Christmas
shopping. Christmas shopping has gotten
a lot easier than back in the old days.
you know, talking about medical medical
care and and um you know, how things
have gotten more complicated in that
regard, but Christmas shopping has
gotten easier. You know, I still you
drive by the mall on Christmas Eve,
6:00, and the parking lot's still full.
Everybody's out there shopping, running
around, buying stuff. Almost everybody I
know
does not do Christmas shopping that way
anymore. It's um either cash, gift
cards,
uh you know, or you send away for
something through Amazon or or you know,
one of the um
just about everybody has a website you
can order online. Even the locals now,
you can you can find a local business,
which you should do. Try to support as
many local businesses as possible and
you can get uh you can either get a gift
card or you can uh you know, get
something delivered.
But, uh, you know, I, uh, I can't
remember the last time I did Christmas
shopping at a store,
unless it's a, you know, again, a local
store, specialty store, and you want to
stop in and get this because it's the
only place you're ever going to find
anything like that, right? It's unique
uh, to that shop. Um,
niche, a niche business, right?
There there are a number of places in
New Bedford where you can get uh uh you
know wonderful New Bedford gifts, right,
that you're not going to find on online.
So you can go go check those places out.
But to to roam the box stores or roam
the malls, uh I haven't done that in
years. And um so gift cards are the
thing. Uh gift cards were huge last
year. Um, most people pulled in the
story I wrote there. There's a there was
a poll about um, uh, people said
thoughts about receiving gift cards and
everybody's down for it. They like the
gift cards because you can go and buy
what you want to buy.
I mean, how many times did you spend uh
hours crawling through the mall,
trolling through the mall, buying
something, and you give it to somebody
and they didn't like it or it didn't fit
or whatever, and you had to bring it
back. I mean, that totally sucked,
right? Um,
gift card, buy what you want.
Go and get what you want and you can
pick it out yourself. you let you be the
one that goes through the mall, not me.
So, um, yeah, that's up there if you
want to check that out. Um,
but holiday shopping is in full gear.
You go to the mall, you see people
poking around at things they normally
wouldn't be looking at, so you know
they're looking for. Um, uh, I I was at
the Dartmouth Mall over the weekend.
I don't remember why I had to be there,
but I had to run into the mall for
something. And uh Santa's little area
was already uh almost complete. So I
would imagine Santa's going to be there
fairly soon.
Christmas time is here, right?
5089960500.
You are next on WBSM. Good afternoon.
>> Good afternoon, Barry.
>> Hi.
>> How are you doing?
>> I'm doing well. How are you?
>> I'm okay. I'm really excited about
stuff. Um, one thing I want to bring up,
well, two things I just want to say real
quick. Did you see Donald Trump
interview yesterday? Um,
it it it was kind of sad.
Um, okay. It was the breakfast. It was
before the breakfast dinner. Um,
breakfast dinner.
>> Oh, the uh the business uh the business
round table.
>> Right. Right. Right. Have breakfast. And
so he allowed the media to come in. Now,
I don't know if you know this or or
maybe you do or didn't listen. A lot of
people didn't really listen correctly.
Donald Trump said, "I thought this was
going to be a sitdown interview, but
that's okay. You guys want me to have
the podium." And he goes and he says,
"This is working out fine." Anyways,
when he's done with the interview,
Barry, he could barely walk. He was
holding on to the podium and he went to
take a step. Now, this is why and I want
everybody in America understand when
you're flying as much as him, you are
going to get all the inflammation. You
are going to get edemia. You're going to
get swelling in your legs, swelling of
your arms. Okay? I mean, after all, he's
of he is of a certain age. You can't
keep flying like that without it messing
with your vascular
um being
a at any age frankly.
>> And and God bless him because he is
doing all of this for us us.
>> We're Americans. He's doing it for us
y'all. And as he was walking down, it
went to black and I'm glad it did. Uh,
and then there was just a little bit of
screenshot where you saw that one leg
where he was coming down. Now for him,
you know, I love him. And he said to
those uh news media, certain, you know,
people that were there, he says, and I
know a lot of you in this room right now
will join me because from there, Barry,
he was going to Miami. And he said, and
I know some of you are going to join me
on the plane. Now, here he goes again.
So I just want America to know this is a
president that goes nonstop full force
247
I don't know any president that would
would just continually do this Barry at
all. And so with that being said the
next thing um that I really want to talk
well I really want to talk about Trump
but we can't do that all day. I want to
talk to you about um Holly. Um, I know
you get a lot of weekly. I know I think
this past week you didn't get that
engagement with her on air. Um, I was
wondering, um, I was talking with Chris
this morning. The casinos make a
gazillion b Well, I can't say
gazillions, right? But they they make a
lot of money, Barry. Each one in this
state of Massachusetts. There's a lot of
them now. And I would like to know where
where did that money go last year? I
know um how much they made and I'm
assuming it went to the im immigrants,
the illegal aliens. Um
you know, her new program, the two-year
thing, uh two years of having housing,
rent paid, this this and that, they're
all going to get rich because if you can
work with two and god knows how many are
living with them, nobody's going to
ask them, right? because they're not
Medicare, Medicaid age. So they can go
to the bank if there's two, three people
living there. They're going to the bank,
Barry. They're working. They're in two
years without paying rent. They're
putting all that money in the bank.
They're going to buy a house. They're
going to have a down payment before any
of us.
>> And you're talking about the illegal
immigrants, right?
>> Yes. Absolutely. Well, here here's the
here's the downside for them um and for
us is that most of these people that
were led in have no educational skills
and they have no work skills. That's why
you see um most of these folks who do
come out of the shadows to some extent
and and work are working in uh gardening
and lawn care and uh you know that kind
of there was a there was a bust up in
Boston yesterday and a bunch of people
picked up
>> one today in New Beard.
>> Yeah. And car wash at a car wash. Yeah.
And so they're doing those kind of kind
of jobs. So, I don't know if they have
the ability to make the money to buy a
house even with the state assistance.
They require state assistance.
>> I beg to differ with you because listen,
if you've got two years worth of no cell
phone charges, no electric, no heat cost
because that's all going to be forgiven
for them. and the two years worth of
rent and and I'm sure one no I I'm sure
once they get in there is it is it their
mother is it the wife and husband only
um yeah no I highly doubt that and yeah
they don't have any bills to worry about
Barry this is what my hilly set up for
them it's a sweet spot for two years
they've got a sweet spot and they can
make as much money as they want and um
put it in the bank and just keep it
occurring, occurring, occurring. Um,
yeah. So, I I don't know on that that
aspect. I h I have to uh disagree with
you.
>> Yeah. I I see I I and I disagree with
you, too. I don't I I don't think that I
mean, if there are some folks I see I I
go out and I see folks um in restaurants
and I see folks in uh in in Market
Basket and other places and you know,
obviously that the these folks are
immigrants, right? and um recent
immigrants or fairly recent immigrants
and um and they and they're well-dressed
and they have their kids with them. The
kids are well dressed and well behaved
and so on and so forth. These are folks
that came here with some sense of
education or some uh ability to work and
um and came here legally. And I think
those folks um in some communities are
doing okay and are doing well and they
will progress and their children will do
even better than they do and they will
own houses. Maybe some of these people
will own houses as well. But I think
when we're looking at the the scourge of
illegals that came in, I'm not sure it's
going to be um maybe another generation
before before they start to actually
make some money um and and be able to
have home ownership. In the meantime,
you know, I had read a figure fairly
recently that 70, I think it was 73%
of immigrants,
recent immigrants are on some form of
welfare benefit. Okay? Some form of
welfare benefit. And uh that's not to
say that they're not working. Now this
this my guess would be crosses the the
whole spectrum from illegal to legally
present to uh uh folks waiting for uh
amnesty or you know whatever uh even
some of those who are here legally. Um
so the that is a a huge dependency. I
think some will get off of that quicker
than others. Those who get an education
uh those who get their kids into school
and they get an education. Um I think
it's only a matter of time. We get
frustrated when we go into the markets
and we hear folks gathered in little
groups and they they don't speak English
and they've got the EBT cards and so on
and so forth. They are raising children
and while their parents may not be
assimilating, those children are going
to assimilate. They're coming up through
the school system. They want to
assimilate. They want to they don't want
to be outcasts. They want to assimilate.
So that generation will assimilate.
And this is when, you know, to JD in
advance when he was talking about how we
need to um, you know, roll back um on on
old immigration for a while to allow
people to assimilate. This is what he's
talking about. We got to we got to get
everybody, you know, uh, into that big
melting pot. I've got to hold you, my
friend. I got to get a break in. We're
going to do that next right now. Thanks
for your call as always. And we're
coming right back up.

You got me thinking that I'm wasting my
time pulling me down.
No, [music] no, no, no, no.
>> All right, welcome back to the program.
It is 151. You know, the last caller
referred to how Trump works 247. Uh, you
know, that is only a slight
exaggeration. When I came into the
studio today and sat down and I
opened the uh the live news feed from
the White House, from the Oval Office,
Trump was giving a um doing a press
conference and announcing the um the
roll back in prices on on uh weight loss
drugs. Still there doing that now.
That's two hours ago and they're still
there. Um his entire cabinet, all the
members in the cabinet that are involved
in this with the negotiations and the
drug company executives, they're still
there too. They're all standing up
behind Trump. Trump's sitting down at
the desk and uh so this is still going
on. Um two hours and it's still
happening more than two hours now. And
uh so it is amazing. It's absolutely
amazing. Um all right, I've got to get
the last break and then we're going to
come back and wrap for this hour. One
more hour after the news for your calls
right here on WBSM 5089960500.
And uh we're back in just a lot taking
questions uh in the uh Oval Office from
the press. Uh, last I I looked over
here, they were talking about the um um
Supreme Court hearing on tariffs and
whether or not the Supreme Court will
interfere with the tariffs that the
president has been uh assessing. There's
an interesting story on the Associated
Press wire this morning about how um
even if the Supreme Court does
interfere. Uh Trump's got plenty of
authority from other uh laws to be able
to continue to assess tariffs. Uh so
this really shouldn't have too much of
an impact on on what the
administration's been doing. And if I
get chance, I'll take a look at that a
little bit for you coming up in the next
hour. We got a bunch of other stuff to
talk about, too. Right now, we've got to
pause for the news.
