Now, we will take a closer look at the Financial Times news.
Financial Times wrote a new article about Istanbul Airport and Turkish Airlines.
It was said that there is an increase in air traffic in Turkey after the epidemic.
Istanbul Airport is remembered for its success in the world.
Istanbul Airport is the global center of aviation activities.
Of course, being advantageous geographically is not enough.
The fact that investments have been made in the right time,
the fact that the capacity has been revealed was the second important factor.
In addition, the third factor is that quality service is offered to the world market at an appropriate cost.
In this sense, both Turkish Airlines and İGA have caught a very important and successful line.
The success of Istanbul Airport and Turkish Airlines was mentioned in the Financial Times newspaper.
Attention was drawn to the rise in the pandemic.
One of the places where the pandemic hit was the Heathrow Airport in London.
The construction of the third runway is still underway.
And again, with the pandemic, the number of flights in many airports around the world has decreased considerably.
However, this is not the case for Istanbul Airport, which opened just before the pandemic.
Istanbul Airport continues to develop and increases its number of flights every day.
It is one of the busiest airports in Europe.
And on top of that, it continues to open new runways.
So how did Istanbul Airport develop?
One of the important advantages we have here is to implement the right strategy during the pandemic.
For example, while we continue during the pandemic without slowing down investments,
many of our competitors have stopped their investments,
and they have even decreased significantly.
During the pandemic, you know, there have been serious operational difficulties in many main transportation centers in Europe.
On our side, on the contrary, we have given a serious operational response to the increasing demand.
This, of course, was an important factor in the increase in our share in the market.
We have strengthened our position even more in this process.
İGA Istanbul Airport's CEO, Serahattin Bilgen, emphasized that capacity will be increased.
When we opened our airport with full capacity in 2019, we were serving 61 airlines.
Today, we have increased this number to 102.
This puts us among the world's three largest airports.
When we look ahead, there is actually a serious competitive environment.
There are many competitors who have their eyes on the position we are in.
In order to protect our position here, we need to continue without cutting investments.
Today, we are working to be able to use these three tracks, which have never been done in Europe, at the same time.
This will be a serious development that will increase our capacity use.
It is important for us that the necessary infrastructure is prepared from today at the point of reaching 200 million passengers in the long term.
