Here's a look at our next competitor representing Bulgaria, Krista Georgieva.
And Krista
finding herself in 17th place after the short program, much higher than the 30th place that she had in this location at this event a
year ago.
She'll need an 87.56 to take the lead as she skates to Nothing Else Matters by Metallica.
Krista Georgieva representing Bulgaria.
Such an elegant skater and for me to...
I'm obviously mindful of the fact that she comes into this free skate much higher than the result that she had at this competition last year.
So then I'm casting my mind back to her participation in the free skate in 2024.
And in that event, she didn't include the more difficult skates.
And also she had lots of downgraded rotation jumps.
So whilst there are many of the elements under review now,
based on what she did last year, there's definitive progress on the tech score.
Yeah, the skater, you know, is very much like the other we've seen.
Now there's some technical issues on their amount of rotation.
Yes. Is there good technique on the takeoff and the rotation position?
Pretty much yes.
So again, these skaters are in a certain stage of development and it's only going to get better.
And they're already well positioned to get these elements clean.
They'll need to in order to greatly increase their score.
And, you know, it's just retraining or fine tweaking and making minute detailed development to make the jump that has good takeoff
with that little bit of extra snap, little bit of extra pop to facilitate full rotation.
And the triple sacro double toe that she did, the fourth element, was indisputable.
And that's why that one had no review from the panel.
And the panel's pretty, I mean, you can really obtain an ability to know something's fishy in that landing.
Now, it might be fine, but something's just a little bit hooked versus a clean one.
So they'll call the reviews when you see that just little whip of the leg or the landing foot at the last second.
And they'll take another look at it.
Can't you can't really fool the technical panel anymore.
The problem, the challenge is, of course, is when they look at it live,
then they look at the review, which is a camera angle, which is different from where they are.
It could be a slightly different opinion.
So that's the that's the problem with the system.
It's not perfect, but that's why AI is being looked at.
And Krista, as her coach, Daniela Milishkova, analyzes the performance.
Just, you know, for context, that event that she took part in last year here, she scored 64.77 in the free skate.
So whilst this is going to struggle to be competitive with that, which we have seen thus far,
an indication of the progress that she and her coach have made this season.
Yeah. And once you take a look at this report card, it takes a look at all the digits that are there.
She'll understand, OK, that's a downgrade there. Under rotation there.
Let's take a look at the video. OK. Oh, I see. OK.
Now, what did I feel when when I see that job?
What did I feel like to me? Because the skaters skate by feel.
I'm not going to skate by sight. I know the skaters look down sometimes.
Yes, but it's done. What are you going to do about it?
And the shining light on the score sheet here for Chris is that triple sock with double toe,
which has no question mark on it, proving she's very capable of clean triple jumps.
Absolutely. Let's take a look at the free program scores for Krista.
Seventy three point six one. That is 11th in the free program.
That is because of the under rotation.
The total competition score of one hundred eighteen point six seven.
And that'll put it currently overall.
