안녕하세요.
Hello, K-friends.
Today, I will show you how to make crispy fried dumplings that everyone will love.
They are the perfect appetizer for holiday parties or special occasions.
I will also share some easy tips to make them at home.
Stay tuned.
Let's make it together.
This is ground pork.
You can also use chicken or shrimp instead of pork.
Squeeze out the water from half a block of tofu.
Removing excess water from tofu prevents the dumpling filling from getting soggy.
Let's season the meat and tofu first.
Half a tablespoon of soy sauce.
Half a tablespoon of oyster sauce for flavor.
Half tablespoon of cooking wine.
One teaspoon of minced garlic.
A little grated ginger.
About three pinches of black pepper.
And half a tablespoon of sesame oil.
Mix everything well.
Let's add some chopped rinsed kimchi for extra texture.
If you don't have kimchi, you can skip it.
And squeeze out the water.
Add kimchi and green onions to the filling and mix everything well.
Now simple and delicious dumpling filling is ready.
This is dumpling wrapper from the frozen section at a Korean grocery store.
Leave it at room temperature for about one hour to thaw naturally.
Moisten the edge of the wrapper with water and place a small amount of filling on it.
Be careful not to add too much filling as it may cause the wrapper to tear.
Now fold the dumpling in half and press the middle and edges firmly to seal.
Press down with your palm to remove any air and press the edges firmly to ensure they
are tightly closed.
Removing air from inside the dumpling prevents it from bursting when fried.
I'll show you another shape.
Moisten the edge with some filling and leave one side flat while you plate the other side.
Today we are making easy dumplings and we've made about 23 dumplings in total.
Before deep-frying, let's boil them in hot water.
Boiling the dumplings first ensures even cooking, reduces oil absorption, and keeps them crispy
when deep-fried.
I've also tried steaming dumplings, but the best texture comes from frying dumplings
that have been boiled.
If you skip this step and deep-fry the dumplings directly, the outside may cook faster than
the filling, especially if the filling includes raw meat or vegetables.
When the dumplings float to the top, they are cooked through.
Drain the dumplings well and place them on parchment paper to cool.
Prepare the rest of dumplings the same way.
Pour about 1 cup of oil.
Make sure to remove as much moisture as possible from the surface of the dumplings.
Excess moisture can cause splattering, so be sure to dry them well.
When the oil is hot, carefully add the dumplings one at a time.
Avoid overcrowding the pan to prevent the dumplings from sticking to each other.
Since the filling is already cooked, deep-fry the dumplings until the outside turns golden
brown.
Cook them halfway through to cook evenly.
When they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, remove them from the oil.
Deep-fry the remaining dumplings the same way.
Now let's make the dipping sauce.
Thinly slice 1 green onion.
Place it in a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 teaspoon
of honey, and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
This is optional.
Mix well.
Serve the deep-fried dumplings on a plate with the dipping sauce.
Mmm.
This is absolutely crispy and savory.
You will love it.
