Mom has been hurt for two years so we celebrated her new hip and being able to join the family for all of our adventures with an all out day on the mountain at Vail, Colorado.
You guys are probably wondering how you would go and spend $70,000 in one day of skiing. This is how.
Well, I've already spent it. This past summer, I had a hip replacement, so I have at least $70,000
in this right hip. And today, the Stedman Clinic, which is the facility that I went to to have my
hip replaced, is hosting a friends and family ski day. We didn't pay up for our own tickets,
but they're providing lunch on the mountain, and we're pretty excited to go. And it's called Life
After Total Joint Replacement, I think. So there'll be people there with new hips, new knees, new
everything. But yeah, to get invited today, we had to spend no less than $70,000. And actually,
Willis, I think one of the bills that came through was $70,000. I think if you add it up,
which I really haven't gone back and done because insurance was so good to us,
we might even be able to raise the number. Where are we going skiing at today?
Oh, yes. And if you're going to spend $70,000 to get invited to a ski day,
you might as well get invited to Vail. So we're going to Vail today. Pretty excited about it.
So right now, we're rolling through this cool little town called Frisco,
and we're going to stop and get a breakfast burrito. Oh, the breakfast burrito is so good.
Butterhorn Bakery. Linda will take the camera in and show you exactly what Butterhorn Bakery
has to offer. Look at that background. It's incredible.
All right, you guys, we're getting ready. Everybody's getting readied up.
But our boots wouldn't slide on. The car was so cold. So our boots didn't want to come on. So we
had to come in here instead of next to that fireplace. So yeah, we've been in here for
like a half an hour, but it's finally time to go skiing. Just got off the gondola, and it's time
to start skiing. I think we're going to meet up with some of the people here
that do the Steadman stuff. But it's first run time, $70,000 ski day. You're about to see what
it looks like. It's been six months since my hip surgery, and it's hard to believe I'm out here
doing this. It feels so good, and I'm so thankful for all of these doctors and staff at the Steadman
Clinic. So the great part about the ski day is there's a big group.
These are all patients and their doctors, family members of Steadman Clinic.
Yep, so we've got a nice little group to ski with today.
This is moguls, but with no poles. I've never done this before. I've always skied with poles.
So we're going to see how this goes. Going to find the rhythm.
You guys, what's one of the awesome features that comes with a $70,000
ski day?
I don't think we're having champagne and caviar, but it's still going to be amazing.
Okay, you guys, we just finished lunch. So now,
my parents are done skiing. They're just hanging out down there. We're going to talk with some
people. Jason and I are going to go over here and get the back poles, I'm pretty sure.
Yep, we haven't done them before, so we're going to go do that. The point is we're here. We're
now skiing by ourselves. We're going solo or duo or whatever, but we're going to go check out the
back poles. Just admire that view. Dude, that's beautiful. Look at that. Look at that. This is
the entrance. What is this? It says, Must Ride Tour 7. Yeah, so let's go. I don't really know
where we're going, but we're going this way. This is almost like magical with these trees like this.
Yep, we just got off the mountain. We just got our skis back. Sarah's tired.
Sarah's legs are hurting. Pretty tired too. Parents are coming to pick us up,
and then we're going to head home. I said that was a great $70,000 ski day.
That was crazy. Filthy car. You cannot live here. I have a clean car.
Whoa, it is bright. We got to unpack the car. It's pretty much a $70,000 ski day for you. I don't
know if it was what you guys expected. You guys probably expected some steak or something wrapped
in gold or some champagne from Mars or something, but yeah, that's what that looks like. We're done
unpacking, and we are back home. Real quick, I just want to hear everybody's favorite part of
the $70,000 ski day. Linda, go. Me. I just really enjoyed getting to do this today as a family,
hanging out, and it was just a reminder that I really have my life back, and I'm just so thankful
to be able to move and do what we do. Sarah. Jason and I, while mom and dad were finishing
up lunch and they went and got the car and stuff, Jason and I went and skied the back part of Vail.
That was probably my favorite. It was really cool. Mine was being together as a family. A little road
trip this morning, a breakfast burrito, a coffee on the road, just doing what we do best, and it
was pretty awesome because not only was it flat out freezing when we got there, nobody wanted to
get out of the car. It ended up being an epically beautiful day. I was sweating. It was minus
eight or nine when we left here this morning. By the time we left over there, it was in the 30s,
which here was... It felt like it was 65, and yeah, we were sweating. Great people. We met some super awesome
people, and we're looking forward to connecting and spending more time with them. How about you,
Willis? Favorite part was skiing at a different resort. We usually ski Breckenridge, Keystone,
but Vail is just such a great resort, and we just don't get to do it a bunch, so
I thought that was probably my favorite part, getting to see Vail. Awesome. Can't wait to see
you guys again on our next adventure. Make sure you like and subscribe, and check out all of our
videos where we share lots of fun stuff that we do. Everybody have an epic day. Have a good day.
We'll see you guys later. Peace.
