What's your name and how old are you, Clara?
My name is Clara Michael and I'm 10 years old.
Just one question, where are you from and what will you be doing for us today?
I'm from Gary, Indiana and I'll be singing.
It's truly inspiring to see such talent.
Why did you want to audition for America's Got Talent?
I've always wanted to sing on a big stage like this.
Sorry, before you start, tell us more about yourself.
Today, I'm finally brave enough to speak to the world.
A lot of people think my father, Michael Jackson, never had a daughter.
They say it on TV, in magazines, online, everywhere.
But they were wrong.
My dad used to tuck me in at night and tell me,
Clara, one day your voice will show people who you are.
And now, I'm here, standing in front of the whole world,
not to prove anything, but to share the part of my father that nobody ever knew.
I remember the sparkle in his eyes when he talked about music.
I remember how he laughed when I tried to moonwalk and tripped over my socks.
And I remember how he said my voice sounded like light wrapped in a melody.
I didn't understand what that meant.
Then, but I do now, it means he believed in me.
So today, I'm not hiding anymore.
Today, I'm speaking as his daughter.
Not the daughter the world invented, but the daughter he loved quietly, gently, truly.
And today, I'm going to sing for him.
For the father the world called a legend, and the father I simply called Daddy.
Good luck, Clara.
Thank you.
When I was small, you held my hand and told me life was like a band.
Every heartbeat makes a sound, a little rhythm all around.
I didn't know what you meant then, but now I hear it once again.
A melody that feels like you, soft and warm and shining through.
And though the world, you love me just the same.
Now here I stand, I'm not afraid.
I'm ready for the song we made.
This is my voice.
This is my, this is my show.
I'm singing for the world to see that you're the one who listened to me.
Daddy, can you hear my song?
I've been waiting for so long.
The music I still find, a piece of you still next to mine.
So I practice dancing in my room, pretending you are with me too.
I spin around like you taught me, a secret dance only we see.
People talk and people doubt, but they don't know what love's about.
They see the legend on the screen, but I knew the man behind the dream.
You told me, Glara, use your life, so here I am tonight.
With every note, I feel you near, whispering the words I hear.
Daddy, this is my voice.
This is my heart.
This is my show.
I'm singing for the world to see that you're the one who listened to me.
Daddy, can you hear my song?
I've been waiting for so long.
Daddy!
