This Thanksgiving, America's longestr
running Thanksgiving Day parade was back
in Philadelphia. NTD was there to find
out more about how people are enjoying
the event.
>> Fun. A lot of families. It's
Thanksgiving. We're so happy to be here.
>> America's longest running Thanksgiving
Day parade returned to Philadelphia on
Thursday. This beloved tradition is now
in its 106th year.
>> We come every year. It's a family
tradition for us and my two kids. Uh,
luckily we live in the neighborhood so
we just walk walk down and enjoy the
atmosphere and the fun.
>> This is our first year coming and um,
yeah, I mean it's not going to be our
last. I love it. I loved it. Yeah.
>> Attendees tell NTD what they are most
grateful for this Thanksgiving.
>> And I'd like to thank the US military
for working and all the police people
that work today. Well, really what I
wanted to do was send a message out to
our troops and anybody and everybody
throughout the country and the
continental US and our territories who
have loved ones that are deployed right
now keeping us safe in our country. And
I think it's so important to acknowledge
their selfless service. I'm most
thankful for my family. This is our
first uh Thanksgiving in Philly and we
love Philly.
>> And what does Thanksgiving mean to
people? For me, it brings back the
historical underpinnings of our country,
how we got to be where we're at. And
it's a gathering of all people
regardless of your race, religion,
ethnicity,
beliefs
just to bring people together and have a
meaningful day and be thankful for all
that we have.
>> Thanksgiving for me is just gratitude
for the year that went by. We look to
see what what was added, what was
passed, and we just give thanks for
everything that came our way.
Thanksgiving means spending time with my
family, doing things like this, and
enjoying the day.
>> Attendees of the parade say they like
the floats and balloons and will spend
the rest of the day with their family.
>> Happy Thanksgiving.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
