A Trunk Show with Lisa Featuring Kim Diehl's Simple Whatnots Club

Hey everyone, it's Lisa. I'm here live at Aincoint. Just probably a few more times we're going to be at Aincoint before you know it, our new place is going to be up and running and we will have a new location. So I'm enjoying it while we're here. Right now we're in the Three Seasons room. We had to turn on the fireplace to heat it up and we're ready to go. We have a lot of good things for you today. We have a Kim Dio trunk show, we have some specials for the shop, and a couple things that I need to do for shop business. So we're going to get the shop business and the moving sale stuff on first while you're all jumping on and then at the end we will do Kim's trunk show which we are super excited about because her stuff is always so awesome. All right so moving sale we have a bunch of things that maybe we only have one or two or three of or we have things that we have a lot of and we want you to buy them at our prices that we have so we don't have to move them. So we're giving you a deal to help us out and to just make it more efficient with moving and that process. So hopefully you'll snag something that maybe you've wanted for a while. All right so I'm going to go through those things that we have here at the Wisconsin store and then Drew in California will be joining us because she has a couple things that are located the samples are located in the California store and you will be able to order those things that she has at the California store or the Wisconsin store. So she has what she has there I don't know if she has everything that I'm going to show you who knows so just figure it out if you can't find it on the website it's not there that's just how it is. So to start off moving sale we have Sue's Star. Now this is like a 30 by 30 quilt bunch of one inch half square triangles really scrappy civil war-ish a little bit of wool applique. This was one of our most popular patterns and we must have a ton of them so that's why it is being offered to you. I don't know the prices you're gonna have to go on the website and look so you got a little bit of homework to do because I didn't write them all down sorry we were just shooting another video prior to this for my next fabric line that hopefully I'll be able to show you soon. Okay so this one is called summertime this was a block of the month a block of the week a long time ago but we only have one kit left so whoever is the lucky person to snag the one last kit here you go it's not on sale one full kit we have wool kits oh yeah okay I'm sorry one full kit meaning the background and that but we do have some wool kits I guess if you want to use your own fabric which might not be a bad deal right to get rid of some of your collection that you have because obviously this doesn't take a ton of fabric. So one full kit left and then we do have some wool kits for that one and again that one was called summertime all right so like yeah so there's the kit this is the wool kit only that looks like ninety dollars for the wool kits here is the Sue Star kit some wool tons and tons of fabric in there and then we have veteran star look at how cute this one is quilted by the famous pineapple herself Linda Hershka we all love mini quilts this is a nice one to add to your wall of minis veteran star that one is called and there is the kit I don't know why that bee is in there I hope that's for me just to keep at home this next one this next one is called summer getaway now I love this quilt it's really unique it's a log cabin with only a center and then two of each color contrasting colors around it so it's super fun to make and I absolutely love it like you could make this with jelly rolls too and use two and a half inch wide strips but the possibilities are kind of endless on that so this is on our moving sale special and I think those are the original old glory fabrics from old glory gatherings now and this is that kit here so these are the moving specials that we have at primitive gatherings here in Wisconsin and then we do have a couple more whether you're ordering from Wisconsin Drew you can put the quilts that Drew's going to show you on there we do have those in Wisconsin but if you're from California and want to go pick up or get it from Drew those quilts that she's going to show you now she has kits for those so Drew are you ready to come on yes I am Miss Lisa are watching I get to so this one is the rumor uh has it I don't have any here at all I sold my last one um last week so um I I don't know how we're going to be able to see this quilt let's see uh can we get okay I don't know what I did Kelly but um can we do about can you see it Kelly um not really okay so I guess if we go widescreen we probably would no here there that's a little bit better okay so that's the one rumor has it can you hold it up higher Drew there we go okay is that better there's better yep okay it's a beautiful quilt and I'll tell you the size of the quilt 77 by 77 can you see it now yes there you can I see a finger I see it oh there we go a little bit of help right now okay and then we have two others and this one is sewing basket and like Lisa said you're gonna have to do a little bit of homework by going and checking out the price online and that quilt is 51 by 51 and a half Drew I know that one is on sale for only 80 dollars oh you got that one yep I remember that one all right and then this is the other one this one is called uh box right crack yep this quilt is a mini quilt is a 27 and a half by 27 and a half beautiful layout comes together very easily and everything so those are the three that I have um but you can go on our website and it's under uh Lisa Lisa's live today and so I made it very easy so you just go there they're already on there we do also have that um two star we have that as well so we have some of those kits as well and um I just got the list from Amy so if I'll go over it after we sign off and um if there's anything else on that list then I'll drop it on to Lisa's live for today all right so I'm gonna keep watching to see what else you show and do you have any announcements for the shop at all yes a couple things well start um we just got in our cut goods for our American gathering and I just want you to know we're going to ship those out I do not have the um back quarters but uh towers but I do have all the others and so all of your pre-orders that you um made I just want to say thank you thank you a million um we really appreciate you um taking advantage of uh purchasing it early so those will be going out and um and any of the kits we're working on getting all of those cut and ready to ship out as well um start next month we're going to start back adding our classes it's going to be a lot of them going to be zoomed for right now I think we only have one that's going to be a fitness so in the store we're still at a minimum capacity uh so to secure your spot you have to pay for your class in advance and everything but we're very excited and we're hoping that we get to be like San Diego open up a hundred percent um but we're still at a minimum capacity here in Riverside so we're just working towards um whatever you know good things that we have I know a lot of you had called and asked about our June retreat our June retreat is um full we did have some people who rolled their um their deposit over to November but even with that we already had like 16 people on the waiting list so for those of you who were interested in coming um I have a few phone calls to make for those people who are already on the list that could take over the spots that those people that roll theirs over um and I am going to be sending out the notification for the November one um next week and so with that uh we already have we already have uh 30 people in in that already so if anybody drops out just put your name on the waiting list and I'll be you know happy to uh give you a call and get you in there we are very excited we have a lot of good things coming up and um my live is next Tuesday uh Tuesday I said sorry that's Lisa uh Wednesday my my next live is going to be on Wednesday and so then I have some very exciting um things to share um we have our quilt to give to our veterans because we saw we sold out all of our um kits on it it's uh it's it was really a good uh promo and so I just want to thank you all for just continuously you know showing us a lot of love and uh and support okay so I'm gonna let Lisa get on and I'm gonna stay on so I can see that beautiful trunk show because Kim Deal is amazing she's an amazing woman and uh we want to make sure we support women okay remember we're the ruler of this country not those men all right love you more Queen Drusilla has spoken yes Drew is quite the gem I'm so happy to have her in my life and taking care of that California shop for for us I don't worry thing with when she's in charge so next up I just want to give you a little heads up about Homestead Woven we have this fabric line is only going to be on sale on our website for till May 1st so if there's anything that you want in this line or any of the kits make sure you get on there and pre-order it before we have to place our order with the mill so that's just a little friendly reminder about that and I can't show you the quilts because they're not done yet so you just have to look at the pictures and know they're going to be awesome it's called faith faith faith right all right now this was a super surprise for me and I want you to all go on and find this either at your local quilt shop or at Primitive Gatherings because we are selling them but 2022 quilt calendar guess who's missed July yay all those half square triangles made the month of July so we're super excited about this we knew nothing about it and I will share with you all the other calendar girls so Mary and Connie from Country Threads are January I'm not going to show you the quilts because I don't want you to know them all before you get it Christine I'll butcher this name C-Z-E-P-U-R-Y-K we're probably of the same descent so I don't want to butcher that but Christine has a February quilt and then Kim Deal is in March Brenda Riddle is April Linda Collins and Leah Zeber is May June is Jo Morton we are July Sherry McConnell is August Carol Hopkins is September Lisa Alexander is October Jo Morton again has November she's a two-time girl calendar girl and then Stacy West has December so awesome lineup of people in the 2022 calendar from Martingale or that patchwork place I believe they are the same company but they have a couple divisions so this is on our website for you to pre-order and I don't know when it comes but as soon as it's available we'll get it out to you so awesome all right coming up soon is our trunk show for Urban Patchwork Gatherings 2 so we have six quilts and a bunch of pillows and frames so we will be doing this trunk show coming up this fabric line was due here in April but of course it's going to be a little bit late with all the backups so we're going to enjoy that trunk show and maybe you can find something that you want to make when that comes in as well and then another cool thing we have a quilt in the June issue of American Patchwork and it is called Stars and Stripes Forever so here it is and we do have kits that include the backing for 125 so a very nice offering but we will be selling out so get yours soon I have to get a drink here and then I'll show you the quilt in person something went down the wrong pipe there I just got this quilt back yesterday and that's the first time I got to see the magazine so here is the quilt in real life the guys did an awesome job with that little orange peel on there and this is American Gatherings so this is in the grocery store right now I was so tempted last night yeah it's a magazine so yeah it's in the grocery store so if you I like to buy magazines from the grocery store so if you are there pick one up or you can always order one on our site we did order a case of them just in case you can't find one or you don't do grocery shopping you do instacart like I kind of do sometimes so that is super fun to do that because I can stay home and stitch and then order my groceries and then they come right to the door right so okay um another a little announcement our flag stands for freedom we have these in they are shipping however I do want you to pay attention there is a little correction in the pattern so we super apologize for that we don't know how those things happen but they do and we just gotta roll with it and make the best of it but it's like the easiest quilt that we did out of the line and it's the one that we had the most problems with on the pattern so figure that out so I just thought I'd show you the mini because the big one has gotten a lot more air time than the little one and I am going to do a little tutorial yet on switching binding right here see how I did that and right here so look for that sometime in May Kaylee and I will shoot that we're all ready to do it we just have to put it in the time slot and then Jessica told me to remind you that we have our wool pressing mats in back in stock at Primitive Gatherings and they come in three sizes this is 12 by 12 we have the big one that I believe is 18 by 58 and then the 20 by 20 so those are all on our website look for them under the live with Lisa button under new is where you'll find live with Lisa okay my my table is getting cleared off so we're almost ready for the feature but a couple more things all right so I have been autographing wool needle and thread two books and they will be shipping soon and I want you to look for something in the book so there is something in there for all of you who just believed in me didn't even know what was in the book and ordered it anyways so those of you who pre-ordered this book are gonna get a little surprise in there from me and I think it's time I showed you and announced that I have something really cool happening so when you look in the book there's this scissor case and it's photographed with this really cool scissors well this really cool scissors is our new scissors that we had made for Primitive Gatherings so it's very much like my five inch Dovo it has awesome German steel I don't know the particulars I don't know what it's all called I don't know the detail but just know it's awesome when you open the blade on the black it says our little logo there Primitive Gatherings I'll come up so Kaylee can see it but the best thing about this scissors is the Dovo was you know 50, 55 dollars and y'all know this is my favorite right so I love this scissors I believe this scissors is better than the Dovo I don't want to say that but I think it is and it's only $34.99 so that is our special keep in mind we only have so many so get your order in soon because at that price they are an amazing steal so get yourself one of those scissors and then just wrap it all up and then you know on Mother's Day open it up and say oh thank you for bought for this wonderful Mother's Day present but we have them in stock we will be able to ship them if all 15,000 of you in this group order we don't have that many trust me we do you know we do have a nice number but they could go like that I don't know so hopefully we won't have to reorder those quite so soon because they did take a long time to get here but they are here and they are fantastic and I absolutely love them and I know a couple of the girls that know me I have given them to them to try out so hopefully maybe they'll come on the group and maybe give it a little honest opinion on what they think of it but I am super proud of it and I love it so don't be afraid you know I wouldn't give you anything that was crappy so all right another quick little announcement one of our next trunk shows is going to feature Julie Hendricks from JJ Stitches and Vicki Gerke's quilts from County Seat Quilts so this is super fun to do a trunk show on this so look for that in the next Kaylee day or so all right I didn't know of that soon so look for this trunk show and make sure you watch it on YouTube for us so we can get credit for all those cool things that we do so now I think it's time to talk about Kim Deal and what we're going to talk about the trunk show is Kim Deal's current whatnots group so I believe it's number 10 right Kaylee number 10 but I just want to give you a reminder about her newest book Simple Whatnots 2 that is just out within the last month and this features her little quilts from previous whatnot clubs and a very awesome array of projects if you want to see these we did do a trunk show on this earlier on the Stitch with Lisa Bonjean YouTube so look for that there and you can see every one of the quilts that we have in there so show the quilts let's show the quilts I don't have any other announcements does anybody want to make if you want to make some comments I might give something fun away I do have a Fat Quarter Tower to give away of Kim Deal's fabric that she has given me I gave one away when we did the whatnot trunk show for the book and now I have one more for this whatnot club so keep commenting and I'm going to say to Kaylee okay pick a comment for the winner of the Fat Quarter Tower now I know that some shops have already started this maybe like in March or April but at Primitive Gatherings it is on our website and Jessica has put together a little program for you and I believe it is a Fat Quarter Tower and all the patterns for a price I want to say $150 but I could be wrong and I also said to her well does that one Fat Quarter Tower make all the quilts that are in the club and she said no but if they had a second Fat Quarter Tower it would for sure make everything so we are going to offer a second Fat Quarter Tower at a nice reasonable price if you want to get two of the towers to make everything I'm going to show you today and there is a bonus quilt with the whatnot club so I'm going to start off with the bonus quilt and I do not have it but I just want to tell you it's called Humble and Heartfelt and I think Kim does a little bit of revealing on any of her social media about it but it's an ongoing extra project along with the little quilts that makes a 60 by 60 finished quilt so I'm just going to kind of give you a little glance at the pattern so each you're going to get each time there's a little quilt released you're going to get a block two or three for the ongoing stitch along project and all that comes in this whole pattern kit that you're going to get if you join our club all right so let's flip these over they're also little and cute they don't take up hardly any room and I am going to start with this one here called Traffic Jam all right so again string pieced into the blocks of random looking blocks so the strips are random just using up probably what she has left over and then set with a cream and then a connector corner and I think Kaylee's going to flash on like the size of each one nope no size of each they're all little that's what size they are you can kind of see what they are and she's going to give you I think a detail of the quilting all right so that was Traffic Jam next up we have Party of Nine guess what that's going to feature my favorite block the nine patch Party of Nine is 30 by 31 simple nine patches strippy setting fun for now we're not going to release these one at a time you're going to get all the patterns and all the fabric all at once from Permanent Gatherings okay laugh yourself silly we all love to belly laugh right how cute is this guy unique shapes 15 by 18 I would love just to take all of Kim's little quilts and put them all on one wall wouldn't that be awesome like my little ruler wall of quilts yeah would it yeah and there is one quilt I don't have so I don't know if it just got skipped or it got sent back with the other trunk show I don't know but we'll have to track it down 19 by 19 this one is called Kick the Can all of us pretty much have played Kick the Can Kaylee did you play Kick the Can I played it okay my daughter just played it this weekend really they still do that okay all right so this is just kind of a positive and negative looks like so pretty on this like I think the array of her blur spectrum her range of color makes all these quilts so awesome this one's called In-N-Out 14 by 14 again another quilt that shouldn't take too long to make this is Square in a Square and Flying Geese remember make sure you're commenting I'm gonna pick a winner pretty soon these little quilts aren't aren't um all right so the one I'm missing is called Heartstrings so I'm just gonna have Kaylee come and swoop in it is 25 by 25 if that gives you an idea hopefully there's not too big of a glare on the page protector you're good so that's the one I don't have so we'll have to track that one down but the one I do have is called Birds of a Feather more Flying Geese and some random looking um hourglass blocks set with the String of Geese beautiful beautiful quilt 20 by 26 I love the borders how she changes with the hourglass very clever all right so I say the best one for last this is my favorite called Midnight and I wore my teal shirt so I matched it silly right okay this one 20 by 20 I am making this one for sure this one will look wonderful at the lake house here and it will be a nice remembrance of Kim Deal and her awesome design abilities that we all love so don't you think that's amazing the gray with the teal you like this one too Kaylee don't you yeah I do yeah I do too all right so that is our trunk show for Kim Deal and I'll hang around a little bit if we have any questions and then I will pick the winner when I feel like it I guess so does anybody have any questions but isn't that um Kim so prolific in all of her quilts and her designs and I just saw that she's going to do a flannel line so I'm super excited to be able to get a flannel line from Kim to be in the shop because I can imagine um that color array I think it's called like Scraptastic or something like that um Henry Glass sent me the the card to order it but I really wish I could see it in person but I know I'm gonna get it so any questions um where is your California store located our California store is located um northeast of San Diego in a town called Marietta which is on the north Temecula border so Temecula wine country uh off the 15 is where it is located and just google it you'll find it you want to just go over so the the quilts that you did are not particular or you know which the way you did yes okay oh just to recap the quilts that I showed are in Kim's book these quilts are called um the whatnots club so each year or each fabric release she does a club with her fabric line so these are the current releases for her grace and gratitude fabric wine so these are not in the book these are standalone ones they only can be um obtained by joining the club so that's the only way you get them all is if you join her whatnots club and you can do that on our website by buying the uh club I believe Jessica remind me if I'm right but I think it's $150 and you get all of the patterns I just showed you a fat quarter tower of her line and the free one the free stitch along as well so that's the only way way you can get these particular quilts now someday down the road a couple years five years you might see a whatnots three book and then she'll put some of those in there but right now for a while I don't know what she uh you know how long she waits before she'll put them in a book but I know it is a long time so um just keep that in mind that that's the only way you can get these small little quilts right now is if you join her club and it's just a great promotion uh to sell her fabric so you're supporting another designer who is basically uh offering a whole bunch of cool patterns for you to make a multiple array of quilts and you know we all love little quilts whether you stick them in baskets whether you give them to friends whether you just hoard them all yourself and put them on your design wall right okay all right kaylee how far do you ship she's in the uk and she oh yeah we can ship any we ship everywhere australia japan we ship everywhere I mean you're gonna pay a little more we have international shipping so if you do have a question you can always email us and ask us what it's going to be before that but this shouldn't be too bad um they are really loving what's all behind you so the pillow and then well do you want to go into that okay i can talk a little bit about um this is called i canoe canoe now i am teaching this at a retreat in june in bennington kansas with lynn from kansas trouble and debbie maddie who does all the sabori um dyeing and stuff like that so the three of us are teaching a retreat there so this is my quilt for that retreat and basically it's really super fun and we will have it for sale after june sometime but i know that the fabric i had to do 100 kits for the retreat so i know we're not gonna have hardly any fabric left of exactly what we have here but luckily this pattern goes many ways so this is made out of flannel and it could definitely be done out of regular fabric and i also i'm going to do a smaller block version so this is a six inch block here so actually you're looking at a 24 inch big block but it's made up of six inch blocks and i'm also going to do a four inch block one with nine of these big blocks instead of four so i am going to keep doing something with this pattern because i think it's so awesome but isn't it beautiful here in this setting on the lake and this pillow is from farmhouse gatherings the first book and it's just made out of all the scraps from what we had left over from making the quilts in that book and it's just scrappy and use what you got but there is a pattern for that in farmhouse gatherings it's not one but it's just farmhouse gatherings we didn't know we're gonna make a two so yeah so going back to the trunk show okay they want to know how they join the club you just buy it online you just go in and buy it online i'm hoping one of the girls who is watching the group can maybe throw a link in where this is so they can just maybe have a quick link or kaylee we can put one in the description afterwards but look for a simple whatnot's club in the
