let’s go to london | hidden gems, shopping & yummy food

Hello guys! We are in London! It's Helge's first time in the city. And I'm so excited to explore London with Vilda. We are on our way to Primrose Hill. I haven't visited that part of the city. So we woke up pretty early and we are on our way there. And we are craving some coffee and some food to kick-start the day. We have arrived in Primrose Hill. We put the location to Chilcot Square because here are a lot of like colorful buildings. And I'm so surprised because it's very like peaceful and quiet. Nobody's here, literally. I'm like what? Maybe this is just like a hidden gem. Nobody knows about this place. No, I'm just kidding. Anyways, we are gonna grab some breakfast. And since the bagel place in Copenhagen closed down a couple of months ago, we haven't had bagels in a really long time. And I saw that there is a bagel place that looks really good. So we're gonna go and have a bagel and some iced coffee. I'm like maybe a little bit underdressed. It is a little bit colder than we expected. You can see it's very cloudy today. But I had planned on this outfit and I had to stick with it. Maybe I should get a cappuccino. But I'm craving iced coffee. So let's see. reason why I would love to move to London, Paris, New York, like those big cities, is because like, I don't know, everyone is just minding their own business. Everyone is just, you know, out and about. A girl was like walking past the bagel place. She had her like earphones in. And she was talking to someone on the phone and she was like, okay, I'll call you in a bit. I'm gonna grab a bagel. I'm just, I don't know, I somehow just really love that type of vibe. It's just really charming. I don't know what it is. Anyways, we are gonna check out a bookstore on Primrose Hill. And there is also a charity shop that I saw on TikTok. I did a little bit of research. There is a spider on you, Ali. Yeah, we're gonna check out the charity shop and see if we can find any goodies. We bought a coffee table book about Italian summer. The photography in this book is so beautiful. And all of the pictures are so dreamy. And we are actually planning a trip to Italy later this summer. So this book is perfect to get a glimpse into the Italian summer. And I'm like so excited. I will tell you guys more about it when we have planned a bit more. And I had to buy this tote There's so many people here. Some are playing with their dogs. Some are playing cricket. And people are having picnic. It's super wholesome. We wanted to move on to another neighborhood. So we're gonna pass by like Marrowbone and Mayfair and go over to like South Kensington and maybe Belgravia. So we're taking a walk over there instead of taking the bus. Because this way you get to like see the city in a different way. I think it's nicer even though it takes a bit longer. But the weather is nice and we're enjoying. We found a cute wine bar and got a glass of white wine. We were hoping to maybe have some snacks but they only had olives. The kitchen just closed. So this is fine for now. Then later we'll have some more food. We have arrived in Mayfair. You can already tell because the buildings are even more grand and even bigger. Oh my goodness. So many cool and expensive cars as well. Oh yes. We just checked out a store called Drake's. Helge is following a creator called Daniel Simmons. And he was watching his vlogs and he goes to this store sometimes. And it was such a cool store. So many nice pieces. It is a little bit more like high-end and probably better quality. Helge tried on a few sweaters. I really liked the green one that I tried on first. But I took it in large but I needed a medium. And the guy who was trying on just besides me, he tried on the last size in medium. And he ended up buying it. So Helge couldn't buy it. It was so sad because it was kind of cool even though it was a little bit more expensive. But I think it's like a piece that you will own for many years to come. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. We are just walking now to... Where are we going? Buckingham Palace. Yeah. We're gonna see it with our own eyes. I'm not sure if I've ever seen it actually. Even though it's my first... fourth time? Fourth time. Fourth time in London. A little pit stop at a bakery called Buns From Home. I went to this bakery last time I visited London. And me and my friend Mattia tried their pistachio bun. And it was amazing. So like when we spotted the bakery, when we were walking past it, we just had to stop. And we bought two. Because we are a bit hungry. We were quite lucky because they didn't show the pistachio buns on the display. But he had it in the back. And it just came out of the oven. So they are warm. So yummy. We have arrived in Belgravia. And it is different from what I like imagined. I somehow thought it was like a very hip and cool neighborhood. But it's actually really grand and high-end. I don't know if you use that word. But there's a lot of expensive cars. And beautiful houses. If you want a good Instagram picture then come here. Because it's so clean and you can get a good had totally forgotten like how gigantic this department store is. You can literally find everything in there. They have a specific chocolate area. Oh my goodness. I wanted everything. But now we are on a hunt for a restaurant. We're kind of craving something Italian. I really want some pasta. So we're just looking around and seeing if we can find a nice restaurant. Good morning. It's time to get ready for day two in London. I just got dressed. I'm wearing denim on denim. So guys yesterday after our dinner which was by the way really nice. It was kind of funny because right when we walked out of Harrods we stumbled upon this restaurant. It was literally like right outside Harrods. And we saw that it was Italian. Exactly what we were craving. So we checked the menu and it looked good. But we were like okay should we walk a bit further and check out the place that we saw on Google Maps. And we walked over there. But the prices were like double the price of the other place. So pasta at the other place was around 10 pounds. But at this place it was 20 pounds. And we were like no way we're going to the other place. So we ran back and thankfully we got a table. And we actually got a pretty good table. We didn't have any reservations. And it was pretty packed with people. And the place was so beautiful. They had a bar that had so many liquors like in the back. It was very aesthetic. And the food was also really good. It's not maybe like gourmet Italian. It was more comfort Italian. We shared burrata with some prosciutto, truffle, garlic bread. And then we had like two different types of pasta dishes. I had tagliatelle bolognese and Helge had carbonara. And it was super tasty. So we were really happy that we found that place. But when we were about to leave we were considering if we should take a taxi or if we should take the public transportation. We don't really take taxis because it's quite expensive. And we were like I was trying to Google how much taxi would be. And it would have been 30 pounds ish. So we were like okay let's take the bus instead and save the money for another time. So it was supposed to take us 40 minutes to get home. But there was a concert that had just finished. It was an artist called Kylie Minogue. Maybe I'm silly but I don't know who she is. Maybe I know some songs. I'm gonna check. Okay I just checked and one of her song is I just can't get you out of my head. That's a good song actually. But I don't know any other songs I think. So our bus was moving like a snail. Because there were so many people leaving the concert. And the city was crowded with people. We were like what is going on? Because we didn't know what was happening. And I thought this was a normal night out in London. I was like oh my goodness. But no no that was not the case. It was because of the concert. So yeah it took us one and a half hour to get home. Oh it was so frustrating because we were so tired. And we just wanted to chill a bit before going to bed. Because we also had to do some research what we wanted to do today. And yeah it was a bit annoying. But everything's fine. We are awake now. And we are ready for today. So we are gonna go to a breakfast spot called 26 grains. And to be honest I've been doing some research on TikTok with some breakfast spots. Because I have a certain preference with my breakfast spots. And also just the aesthetic and stuff. But when I've been checking on TikTok somehow like those places are not really my type of places. I don't want to sound mean. But some of these places that I've been seeing on TikTok are just quite formal. And the food just looks a bit too perfect. I don't know. It's just they're trying so much. And I don't really like that. I don't know. Maybe I sound weird. But I just like more just like cozy, hidden gems, laid-back type of vibe. If you know what I mean. But I think 26 grains is kind of casual. And it looks nice. So we are gonna go and try it out. Now the makeup is done. I'm gonna show you my outfit. So this is my outfit for today. The shirt is from Girth Avenue. The pants are from Holespiler. The bag is from Calla Jade. And my jewelry is from Pilgrim. So guys the food at 26 grains was absolutely delicious. But we have kind of mixed feelings about the place. Because we waited for an hour to get a table there. And an extra half an hour for the food. It was a bit strange. But I mean the place is kind of small. But like to wait half an hour for breakfast. It was a bit much I felt like. And we got the coffee right away. But it was already cold when the food arrived. So I don't know. But still the food was incredible. So we recommend the place for food. But just preparing can be very busy. You need to wait a bit. But it has started raining. So I think we're just gonna walk around in the neighborhood. And check out some stores. We really want to go to the Imi. Imi Leon something. It is I think a menswear brand. And we want to find some to the basement in this thrift store. And there are a lot of blazers here. Also a lot of shirts. So if you are in need of some blazer then check this place out. We have found a few pieces. So we're gonna try them on and see if something fits. Both of these pieces are pretty cool. But I would have preferred the coat to be a bit longer. I feel like this length is a bit awkward. So I'm not quite sure. Also the vest underneath is kind of cute. So funny with the Aquarius logo. I tried on at Our Legacy were so beautiful. Oh the material and the fit and everything was just so perfect. But it's so expensive. I was not ready to invest this time. The jacket was 500 pounds. Which is not maybe as bad as I expected. Because the hooded t-shirt was 380 pounds. I was like wow. That is expensive. Yeah. So I didn't buy anything today. I will manifest it. Hopefully I can buy it on sale one day or something. But we have just been walking around here in Soho. And we just walked on Regent Street. Which is so beautiful. And it's also like for Helge to see London properly. All of the beautiful buildings and stuff. But yeah we've been walking around quite a bit. So we're getting quite tired and hungry. So I think we're gonna try to find some snacks or something. And maybe after that we'll go see Big Ben and the London Eye. Just to cross it off the list.
