Do you like wine? Or if you don't like it, you'll end up liking it.
What do you know about the denomination of the Rueda origin?
That it has the best vineyards there are.
Yeah, but that's known by everyone.
Here we are to learn things that are not so clear.
I like that.
First, a little bit of history.
The origins of wine in the area date back to the Middle Ages.
Puff, that's a long time ago.
And the grape vine arrived in Spain at the time of the reign of Alfonso VI,
who was born in 1040.
An authentic millennium.
Through the Mozarabes who came to repopulate the Duero Basin.
What a beautiful job. Repopulating.
In the 15th century, wines from the area were popularly known as wines from the land of Medina.
During the Golden Century, which lasted more than a century, almost two,
but we call it that, period.
When Cervantes, Lope de Vega and those people,
the most famous wine in the area was El Dorado.
Good thing there was no Bronze Century, because if there wasn't, who would be a Bronze?
In 1977, the first meeting took place where a regulatory council was established.
And on January 12, 1980, the denomination of Origen Rueda was created,
the first of Castile and Leon.
Be careful, being the oldest of Castile and Leon in something is a lot of merit.
It is an area specialized in the production of quality white wines.
If not, they don't make them.
And its native variety, and why it is known nationally and internationally,
is the Verdejo.
But be careful, since 2008, following the regulation, they can make red and pink wines.
Man, it's not going to be all black or white.
There are more things, there are more wines.
74 municipalities distributed in the provinces of Valladolid, Segovia and Évila
to talk about the origin of a denomination with history.
