Robert Lewandowski is one of the best players in the world and his signing for FC Barcelona
can change the history of football. The Polish striker comes from being a legend
in his country and the Bundesliga but from now on he will be the new idol of a club that
wants to resurface. His technique and physical power make him a unique striker, capable
of hitting with both legs, heading as if he had a hammer on his neck and
becoming a consumed specialist in direct throws and from the penalty spot.
This is Memories of Football and today we are going to remember why Robert Lewandowski
is one of the best 9s in history.

Robert Lewandowski was born in Warsaw on August 21, 1988 and from a very young age he became
a football fan. The Polish striker began playing in the lower divisions of the
Partizan del Esno, a team where his father played. At the age of 16 he began to form part
of the Delta of Warsaw, making his debut with the first team in the 4th division of Poland.
The following campaign he signed for the branch of the Legia of Warsaw but, in the absence
of opportunities, he left for the Nis Pruszków, where he managed to ascend to the second division
and broke to score goals. Lewandowski was the team's top scorer for
two consecutive seasons and in 2007-2008 he was proclaimed the highest scorer in the
Polish silver category. His great performances attracted the attention of the country's best
teams and Lech Poznań paid € 350,000 to close his signing.
Lewandowski's performance exceeded all expectations and after scoring 41 goals in 82
games and winning a League, a Cup and a Polish Super Cup, the striker made the
suitcases for the Bundesliga. The local league had been small for him and Borussia Dortmund
made with Lewandowski's services in exchange for € 4.5 million.
Under Jurgen Klopp's orders, Lewandowski started as a substitute but, after the injury
of Lucas Barrios, he became the starter. In his first year he scored 8 goals that helped
his team win the Bundesliga but it was in the second season that he broke his scoring
record. Lewandowski was once again proclaimed champion of Germany but this time he was the
main protagonist, being the team's top scorer with 22 goals. Lewandowski and Dortmund ended
2012 as a cyclone and with a hat-trick from the Polish striker, Borussia won 5-2 at Bayern
in the final of the German Cup to sign the first double in its history.
After a season of drowsiness, Lewandowski exploded as a scorer in Europe and Dortmund
starred in a Champions League for the first time in history. The 10 goals of the Polish striker
led Dortmund to the Wembley final, leaving moments to be remembered as his
poker of goals in the semifinals. Lewandowski became the first footballer to score
4 goals for Real Madrid in Europe although in the London final he could not raise his
ear when he lost 2-1 to Bayern. Months later he took revenge by defeating
the Bavarians in the German Super Cup but after completing his last season
of contract, he confirmed his signing for Bayern. Lewandowski said goodbye to Westphal at the stadium
as the Bundesliga top scorer and after 4 seasons and 103 goals in 187 matches,
the Polish left for the great rival of the yellows. Lewandowski made his debut with his
new team on July 21, 2014 and did so by losing the Super Cup to his former teammates.
Despite everything, the striker scored for his ex-team in both league games and ended the
season scoring 25 goals in 49 games to win his third Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
After a season of adaptation, the Polish striker unleashed all his potential in 2015-16.
On September 22, 2015, Robert Lewandowski starred in a memorable performance against
Bozsudo, to which he scored 5 goals in just 9 minutes of play. Bayern was losing
to rest and Guardiola took out his 9 to solve the game with the fastest refocker
in history. Lewandowski ended the Bundesliga as top scorer after scoring 30 goals although
his 9 goals in the Champions League were insufficient to overcome the semifinals.
In 2016-17, Lewandowski scored another 30 goals in the league and, in his fourth
season with the Bavarian club, he achieved a new trophy as Bundesliga top scorer.
The striking smell of the Polish striker seemed insatiable and, in March 2019, he became
the foreign player with the most goals in the history of the Bundesliga after beating the Peruvian Pizarro.
The Spanish teams were in charge of bittering Lewandowski's career in the Champions League,
which, despite its successes in Germany, had a debt with the highest European competition.
The 2019-2020 season began very irregularly for Bayern but with the arrival of Hans
Banquillo Muniqués and the outbreak of the pandemic, the Bavarians defeated their rivals
in post-confinement. With the stadiums empty, Bayern became a winning machine
and Lewandowski put on the suit of an implacable executor. The Bavarians conquered the
Bundesliga and the Polish striker ended as the top scorer of the championship with 34 goals.
Days later, Lewandowski scored two more goals in the Cup final against Leverkusen and,
after winning both national titles, Bayern was preparing to sweep Europe.
UEFA decided that the Champions League would be decided in a single match in a final phase that
would be held in Lisbon and the calendar wanted to match Bayern with FC Barcelona.
That historic night, the Germans passed over Barça and, after a
smiling 4-1 at half-time, Bayern continued to subdue their rival in the second half.
Lewandowski scored the sixth of the night in a historic match in which Bayern
beat Barcelona 2-8. The Polish confirmed himself as the top scorer of that edition
by scoring another goal in Bayern's victory in the semi-finals against Lyon and,
with 15 goals in their favor, Lewandowski reached his first European final.
On August 23, 2020, Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain played a tied final that
would end with a header from Koeman that gave the Bavarians their sixth European Cup.
The Germans completed a memorable season that would culminate in the next course by
lifting the 6 titles of the season. Bayern equaled Guardiola's Barça's sixth
and Lewandowski won the FIFA award for the best footballer of the year.
The Polish Ariete repeated as the winner of the DFB in 2021 and, after 7 consecutive campaigns,
exceeding 40 goals per season, won his first Golden Boot and confirmed himself as one of the
great scorers of the new century. And it is to his successes in the clubs that we must add the
great impact that Lewandowski has had in his selection. The striker made his debut in 2008 with
the shirt of his country and, after qualifying Poland for 2 World Cups and 3 European Cups,
he has confirmed himself as the top scorer of his team with 74 goals in 128 games.
Despite his great performance on the field, Bayern and Lewandowski did not reach an
agreement for the renewal of their contract and, after 8 seasons at the Bavarian club,
Robert decided to put an end to his Munich stage. The Polish said goodbye to the
Allianz Arena fans at the end of the 2021-2022 season and publicly announced his desire to be
transferred to the summer market. The insistence of the Polish forced Bayern to hear offers and,
after weeks of negotiating, Barcelona confirmed his signing as the new star of the cabinet.
Lewandowski left the club of his life after scoring 344 goals in 375 games,
giving 74 assists and winning a total of 19 titles with Bayern. 9 Leagues, 3 Cups,
5 German Super Cups, a Club World Cup, a Champions League and a European Super Cup.
Among his records is that of being the footballer who has scored the most goals in a single
season in the Bundesliga, with 43 goals, being the top scorer in the competition just behind
Gerd Müller and being the third top scorer in the Champions League, where he only has
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi ahead. At 34 years old, the Polish has already entered
the top 10 of the top scorers in history and arrives in Barcelona to lead the new
project of the Porta. In Spain they will enjoy their game for the next 4 years,
where they will try to continue scoring goals to perpetuate themselves as a football legend.
