Hey guys today we are in Beecher MI at the heavily tagged abandoned Kmart. Sitting for 26 years (closed October 1999) this place was wide open and falling in on itself. There was an ALPO dog food advertisement still intact and a milkbone one too. On this cold snowy morning the store was so apocalyptic. There’s even a decrepit Arby’s sitting across the street. Hard to believe this place was once bustling with shoppers.
And if you would like to grab a work of
original art done by Lid Wetszel, head
on over to my Etsy shop. It's going to
be pinned in the comment and in the
description and bio.
These are acrylic on canvas paintings.
So head on over if you want an original
piece to hang on your wall.
I am at the most deplorable Kmart that
I've ever seen by a long shot. This
place closed in October of 1999.
It has been 26 years and this is the
most tagged thing I've ever seen.
I mean, this is like, look at it. This
is intimidating looking.
>> Um, you could see the
I will zoom in on that, but you can see
the old style Kmart sign. Um,
the level right there, but yeah.
this. I'm blown away. Let's go walk
around and see what we can find. When we
pulled up, I was like, "What is that?
Look at that old sign. Look at that K."
And oddly enough,
that's one of the only places they
didn't tag.
>> Yeah. Oh, and there was a little Caesars
here, too.
>> You see in there?
>> Yeah.
That one. Wow. Here it is, guys. In the
dark. Okay. Wow. This thing's a lot
cleaner in here than it was last time. I
don't know. But maybe
>> this is more intact than I kind of
thought it would be.
I had to do it, guys.
1999.
Look at the circle vents.
And you could still see
the red
on the floor. After
all these years,
I was just a kid in 99.
Oh, there's a ladder here. I wonder why.
But you can still see the pegboards.
Wow. And the loss prevention thing up
there.
Oh my goodness.
There's an up. Oh,
and that would go upstairs.
Oh, look at that's blown open.
this garden section.
Wow.
Look at the way that fell.
tents.
People have stayed here at the Kmart.
No excuses.
>> Look at the way the pegboard still
remains here in the garden section.
Oh, I thought that was going to be a
Kmart bucket. Was it?
>> No.
I wonder if this was from Kmart.
Milk bone.
This looks really old.
Oh my gosh.
I don't know what year that would be.
Oh my gosh.
Wow.
I think that milk bone thing was from

That is cool.
from 1999.
>> What? 199.
>> Look. Come here.
>> Wow. Yeah.
>> The elbow thing.
>> After all this time.
>> Did you go up here when you were here?
>> Yeah. I've been all Yeah.
Yeah. Oh.
>> Oh my gosh. Look at that wallpaper.
>> This is loss prevention, I think.
>> Yeah.
This is a K disaster.
87.
Wow.
Oh, here's where the Caesars was.
Come here.
We can look at this one.
That had to be the Little Caesars,
right? The the Caesars.
Wow.
Was that the K cafe?
>> Yeah. Caesars, right?
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Now, this is treacherous here.
Or no, wait, that doesn't really look
like
>> No, that don't look like Little Caesar's
Pizza.
>> Well, where was it then?
>> Maybe it's been gutted out.
It actually looks like a like fitting
rooms or something.
So this was customer service.
Look at this mirror.
This Kmart is deplorable.
What are they doing having this place
sit like this? 26 years.
>> Yeah. 26 years.
>> Gra it. Yeah. It seems like it was more
cleaned out than when I was in here
originally.
>> Really?
>> Yeah, it does.
>> I think this is my fourth Kmart.
>> Wow.
>> No.
>> And I thought I'd never get to even see
one.
control station spill.
>> That is so cool. I love that.
No problem getting in this one.
The way that vent is is rotting.
>> Yeah,
>> that is something.
Man, it is so hard to picture this one
being a
Kmart.
Safe to say this is a tear down.
This is not going to um
come back in any way. It's like that
food town I filmed.
It's a lot like that. Actually, the food
town seemed a little bit worse.
I'm wondering where that little Caesars
was.
Oh, there's the restrooms.
Holy crap.
Look at these old restrooms.
Wow.
>> Holy
See the ducks up there?
>> This is really
I mean the tags are actually pretty
good.
>> Yeah, that's what I was saying at the
beginning of my bed out. Yeah.
>> Oh, it's Kilroy was here.
>> Wow.
>> I was in a play called Kilroy Was Here.
>> Wow.
>> When I was like
in seventh grade or something.
This is apocalyptic if I've ever seen
it.
All right, guys. That's going to
complete my tour at this horrible,
decrepit
Kmart. This is the worst one by far that
I've seen. You thought Pa was bad. You
haven't seen this one.
I really don't know what they're going
to do with it. Eventually, it's just
going to fall in on itself.
So, yeah.
Hope you guys enjoyed this and I will
see you on my next
