ABOUT ME I’m Andrew Jensen, a former full time touring professional that played on PGA TOUR Canada, Latinoamerica and almost every North American based mini tour since 2008. I want to use my playing experience to inspire golfers to improve their own game and have more fun with this amazing game we play!
good morning sleepyheads it's a little
drizzly morning here I'm driving to the
golf course to play a little bit of mini
tour golf
I don't know if I missed mini tour golf
I just want to play better in tournament
golf because my experience of the good
good Championship sucked and uh it
motivated me to kind of get my head out
of my rear end and play a little bit
better when I do compete so the rolling
Red Tour is back here in Jacksonville
and of course I love Deer Creek and it's
a great model a one day event followed
by a two-day event so this is day one of
three but it's a one day shootout
tournament I can work out some of my
Kinks and I just hopefully find a bit of
comfort in tournament play as I progress
through this week and on to whatever the
rest of the year holds competitively
oh
for the rolling Red Tour came back to
Jacksonville and I felt like throwing my
hat in the ring and playing a little bit
of tournament golf to uh to just see see
what's up because like I said uh at the
start of the start of the tournament my
good good Championship experience was
terrible my attitude was so bad so this
opportunity presented itself and this
format that Kevin runs is awesome
because it's a one day tournament
followed by a two-round tournament so
it's it's 54 holes if you if you want to
commit to all of it but you could just
do the 18 holes you could just do the 36
hole player like myself who maybe wants
to just
test the waters again with competing
it's an awesome format a player like who
I used to be who had conditional status
and needed stuff to play in this format
is incredible because you have
essentially two opportunities to make
some money to win a tournament to get
those experiences one in the form of an
18 holder that kind of mimics Monday
qualifier so that's great if that's your
conditional player or you want to go
down the Monday qualifying route then
the 36 hole format the opportunity to
potentially sleep on a lead close a
tournament feel what good golf winning
golf needs to be like for multiple days

fifth t-box check-in we had a scrappy
little par there on four feeling good
feeling a little nervy though but
hitting Greens in Fairways and rolling
it well putting the cameras away for a
little bit so I can
Focus pretty good start just like my
nerves were there but just a steady four
pars to start my round and then uh on
the fifth hole par five is it's very
reachable part five I didn't hit a good
tee shot went for the green and two hit
it just over the the green side bunker
so if it hit in the bunker we're fine
but because it kind of carried the
bunker hit hard five yards over this
green on the left side of the greens out
of bounds and it went out of bounds so I
made double bogey uh and then I just my
attitude was great and it just kept kind
of plugging along but unfortunately I
just missed short par put after short
par part after short par putt no birdies
made four bogeys on my day and that
double William shoot six over 77. I
enjoyed it enough but I was kind of
quickly reminded that that tournament
golf just simply isn't for me anymore I
I don't have the the schedule to allow
myself to prepare and build confidence
and I it's it's Hit or Miss what my
attitude was is gonna be like and
thankfully my attitude was very good
this day it was very very poor in the
good good championship
and I shot the same score there uh and I
hated every second of it so I thought
this was an opportunity to kind of maybe
get some better feelings potentially
feel a bit more confident if I want to
play the 36 hole event and then maybe do
the Florida open qualifying but this
this round definitely made me realize
tournament play is is certainly uh in my
rear view mirror for the for now and for
the foreseeable future but this tour
I want to I want to play more I want to
compete more but I have to be so
realistic that I don't prepare enough
and I don't play enough
to be comfortable in tournament golf but
that's where this tour I think is an
incredible model to someone out there
that potentially wants to turn pro or is
a professional golfer that's trying to
find stuff to play because when I had
status when I played full time if it was
conditional status I'd play around the
Toronto area I'd find mini tour golf
here in Florida but they were kind of
like few and far between every two to
three weeks and that's hard to keep
yourself sharp whereas rolling red he
has an awesome thing that's almost every
week with a one day followed by a two
day so it's a good investment it's like
a thousand dollars basically for both of
those events guaranteed persons like you
can your good golf will go a long way on
this tour and I remember that and I want
that but that's just not my
my space right now and I'm okay with
that but it was fun to try I'm glad I
didn't play the 36 holder because it
just potentially would have sent me down
a really negative path and and that's
not where I want to go I want to stay
positive I want to be happy for my
family and for myself and and for
YouTube so I can't recommend this tour
enough and Kevin is running a great show
and he said hey Andrew
um anything you can do to help and
anything I can do to help I'm there so
if you're interested in playing the
rolling Red Tour
there's membership prices there's member
entropies there's non-membrane entry
fees and it's more expensive to enter as
a non-member from event to event
said hey anyone that watches this video
if you want to join the tour reach out
to him and he'll give you a hundred
dollar membership your membership
basically goes down by two three hundred
bucks
pretty remarkable because if you join
the tour your member entry fee from
event to event is like forty dollars
cheaper than the non-member so this
hundred dollar membership basically pays
for itself in two events so if you do
want to pursue any Tour golf if you are
a mini tour player play The Rolling red
I highly recommend it I wish this was
around four or five years ago when I
started this Channel and I was
documenting my play because this format
I feel like I could have thrived in it I
would have built confidence and drawn a
lot of confidence from it because at the
end of the day the best way to get
confident in tournament play is to play
a lot of tournaments and if I try to
play a tournament every six months every
12 months every 10 months I'm playing
with luck I'm asking to be lucky that I
can just be carefree like I am if I play
with my friends or if I'm filming and
have that happen in tournament play and
tournament play is a whole different
ball game the nerves the attitude the
pressure all of it's so different than
just recreational golfer practice golf
so you need reps if you want to be a
good tournament player you need reps and
the rolling red offers reps so just it's
it's linked below they've got Live Score
it's got all the great stuff that a good
mini tour has if you want to join the
tour just when you do it email Kevin
email the Roland Red Tour message him on
Instagram just say hey I saw Andrew's
video and I want to claim that hundred
dollar membership uh
my playing days are done like I was
gonna do the Florida open qualifying
nope it's uh no no no no no no no I'll
stick to being a stay-at-home dad who
hits balls in the garage and and makes
YouTube videos about Golf and golf clubs
and training AIDS and all that sun fun
stuff and hopefully you stay along for
this ride and enjoy it with me
um yeah so we'll see in the next video
