Well hello my friends and welcome back to our home.
It is a gray drizzly day outside. It's not quite snowing but I heard that
we're supposed to get snow this weekend which I'm really excited about.
I'm actually not going to turn on any of our lights for this tour.
I love to do my daytime home tour looking very like
rustic and like a heritage Christmas. I'm going to bring you through my
entire home today. We're going to hit every room in here.
Everywhere has a little bit of Christmas touch and I can't wait to show you.
Okay so I'm going to go ahead and set this here. I
shared a little bit with you guys about our Prairie Farmhouse and the goods that
she sent to us. She gifted us with this beautiful cast
iron candle holder. Isn't that so beautiful? It is
so heavy and gorgeous and we are just enjoying it so much. We always light it
at night with our dinner. Just so pretty. I will say that I
love like our antique candle company candles for
everyday use just around our home but when it comes to like cooking a meal and
having people over sometimes you can have some competing
scents and in that situation I love to have taper candles going. I just feel
like especially this type it feels so old world. Let me share another couple of
pieces that Tammy sent over to us. I showed you guys that she also sent us
over these beautiful curtains and our table cloth and I'll get to
those a little bit later but let me show you this gorgeous quilt that
she sent us. This is the Ticking Stripe quilt of
my dreams. I have been looking for a red and white Ticking Stripe quilt
for years. I remember even looking for something like this when
we lived in our old house and I wasn't able to find exactly what I wanted but
this is just absolutely beautiful. It's 100% cotton and I'm absolutely
obsessed with it so she sent us this quilt and also a couple shams. I'm gonna
go ahead and put this bed together. We're gonna have some
family members sleeping in here in just a little bit and I love to make a good
old-fashioned Christmas bed. She also sent me these
pretty shams that have kind of these ruffled edges
that match the quilt. They're so cute. I thrifted this quilt from
Thrift America in Omaha maybe six or seven years ago
and I remember almost not buying it because it was Christmas colors and I
was debating do I really want to spend seven dollars on something that's going
to look Christmassy in my house and looking back if I would have not
gotten this quilt I would have been kicking myself for the
rest of my life. The greens and the reds in it are just
absolutely gorgeous and it's the star quilt
pattern which is my very favorite. Thank God I picked this thing up.
And I finally found my second place to put these poinsettias that I got from my
dad's house. Looks so cute and festive. Over here I
kept it pretty simple. We pretty much always keep this little
bitty baby here and the puppy but I just brought in
this old lantern that we've had for a million years and then I thrifted
this brass rocking horse last year. I should put like a little red ribbon
around his neck or something like that to make him a
little bit more Christmassy. Timmy also sent me these really pretty
like tiny cast iron shears from her shop as well
and they're great for cutting little pieces of ribbon like this. This is
almost kind of like a rust color. I bought it and I'm still not 100%
sure if I love it or not. I wish it was a little bit less vibrant.
It's a little bit funny with his mohawk but it's cute.
Not bad. So this pretty much does it for the girls room and here.
I told you that I like to keep things pretty simple in the kids rooms just to
give it a little bit of Christmas feel but without
having a ton to clean up because listen we got enough to clean up in our life.
Okay and then coming out of Ivy and Lily's room I'm just going to give you
guys kind of a walkthrough of the rest of the house. We're going to
start over here in our living room. We've got
this pretty little candle right here. This is Main Street Bakery
and then coming over here into our kind of couch area.
I did bring in lots of like burgundies and brown
for our couch pillows. I've told you guys that I do like to keep it pretty
scaled back in here. I like to keep the tones muted with just like little pops
of red and with the bows up in each doorway
that is enough red for me if I'm being honest.
So I did just try to keep it pretty neutral in here.
I am going to be decorating the porch here pretty soon.
I was not able to get that ready for this part of the video so we'll just
have to do that in one of our upcoming videos.
Over here we have our little advent calendar.
Our girls are so excited. Monday is the first
and they are chomping at the bit to get into these little drawers. They've got
little candies for each day. Over here I have this pretty brass
reindeer and then this cup that I thrifted last year. It's got a Courier
and Ives painting on this little mug. I actually
think it's a shaving mug. It came with a shaving brush with it so
who even really knows? And I also wanted to show you guys this beautiful pillow.
This was also a gift from Tammy over at our Prairie Farmhouse.
She gifted this to me. I didn't even ask for it.
It matches the other quilt and it looks so
good with our existing stuff. I just, you guys know that I am a ticking stripe
lover. We have our little centerpiece in the middle of our coffee table.
Super simple. Just kind of a antique book with a candle burning on it.
What can you love more? And then in this vintage crock that I have I just threw
in burgundy red kind of greenery. I don't know if
this is cedar or what. I got it from Hobby Lobby but I just
threw it in there and yeah we always like to keep this pretty
simple because this coffee table gets covered
with projects every single day of our life. So as I've been getting our house
ready for Christmas, whether that is prepping our guest rooms
or hanging up greenery or lighting candles,
I've also been looking for gifts that feel meaningful but are also really
simple. And one that I'm genuinely excited about
is the Arzova D14 digital picture frame. What makes this frame such a sweet gift
is their gift card setup. You can actually preload photos, videos,
or a message without ever opening your box. You just scan the QR code on the
side, upload through their app, and when the
recipient connects it to their wi-fi and enters the code,
it plays a precious little gift animation with your message. It feels so
personal. And once it's set up, the unlimited cloud storage means you can
keep adding memories all season long. You can upload through
the app, through the cloud, by SD card or Windows and create custom playlists
with as many files as you want, which is perfect for building a little Christmas
playlist of memories. It also becomes a sweet family feed. The
Arzova D14 supports multi-member uploads, double tap likes,
and comments that show up right on the frame. It's such a fun way to stay
connected with family who can't be here during the holidays.
And design-wise, it's beautiful. It has a 14-inch
anti-glare IPS screen that you can see clearly from any angle,
and the retro artistic metal frame looks high-end and blends right into your
decor. It's also smart about power with low
power mode and flexible nighttime sleep mode,
so it's only on when you want it. So if you want to get something personal,
thoughtful, and perfect for treasuring those holiday memories, the Arzova D14
digital picture frame is such a lovely gift. And I would like to
know, who in your life would you like to surprise with something meaningful like
this? Tell me in the comments. I always love
hearing your ideas. Over on our fireplace, I wanted to bring
some attention to this beautiful German smoker. This was a gift from
my husband. He got it from this store called Mulhalls. It's a
local business in Omaha. It's like a nursery,
family-owned, and they have all kinds of beautiful pieces. I'll show you another
one here soon. But a couple years ago, we could not
afford this little guy, but Josh decided to get him for me
as a surprise gift after he saw how much I loved them in the store.
You guys saw me light it earlier, but we have frankincense
incense that is inside of his belly. We top him off, and then he lets out all of
this smoke out of his mouth. His mouth has a little bit of burn
around it, but it's still so cool, and it smells amazing.
Next to this is one of these beautiful new
ironstone pieces that I found with this red
transferware. So gorgeous. And I know I decorated our mantel with our new
garland, but there was something about it that
just looked a little bit too much like a tail to me.
So I'm bringing back our old thrifted garland. I got this from Goodwill
years back. It's a little bit patchy, but I did bring in
these red berries that I have kind of throughout our whole house. I have them
in all of the garlands that we have going up
our doorways and everything, and I think that adding that extra bit of care
is what made it look so much better all put together.
I have these cute little Killam stockings that we have
with our little faux fireplace that just treats us so well, and then these bells.
I don't know how I feel about how things are balanced on here,
but you know what? It's good enough for me. Sometimes I just can't
be bothered to do things over and over a million times.
Up here I have my cute little antique crock on
an old sleigh with just the candles that we have going all year round.
And then here we come into our bedroom. Y'all, I have been taking all kinds of
pictures of Buddy because he just sits here and snoozes all day long.
We put his bed at the end of our bed and there's something about it that is just
so sweet. He looks like he should be on a
Christmas card or something. Here is our sweet little Christmas bedding
with our thrifted Santa cross stitch. This is one of my
favorite pieces I've ever found because Santa just looks cute and not scary.
And the cross stitch is just beautiful. The red tones are gorgeous. They're not
obnoxious. And then this year I decided to do a brown
bow with some garland on the end of our new bed.
I am loving the look of this bed. I just think it's so pretty.
And then over here I just brought a little burgundy
blanket to just give a little bit of Christmas cheer over here.
And then I kept this area up here super simple.
Basically the only thing that I put up here that was Christmassy was these
poinsettias that I told you guys came from my dad's house, from my house
when I was a child. And I just decided to bring in a little
bit more red this year. Hello from the mirror. This area over
here again, keeping it super simple. I know that I mentioned
that I should go back and get this little piece
and I did. I had been looking for something to fill this out. It was a fern
and it was just looking very like tropical almost and not Christmassy at
all. So I decided to go back and get this little guy. I think it was
like maybe seven or eight bucks. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't like
the very worst. And then I have these pretty little candles lit.
Here is the view from our bedroom into our living room. I decided to place this
wool blanket over here and you guys it just looks so
cozy over in this corner. I love the look and feel of wool blankets.
And then I just brought over these antlers. I've had these
I don't know 10-12 years probably at this point.
We always use them in our Christmas decorating. So I told you guys a little
bit about mole hauls. Again it's a local nursery that we
have done some work for. Josh and I have been in their commercials before.
I did a giveaway with them this Christmas time and
they told me that I could have one item from their store. I chose this one and
listen the nativity is going pretty fast but in there we've got all the wise men.
These things are called German Christmas pyramids and I just
love the look of them. I really love like Scandinavian Christmas things. So you
just light all of these candles and the heat from
the candles propels the top of this little
whirler thing that spins everything inside and it is just
so gorgeous. In this antique ironstone pitcher I put these
juniper stems that I found at Hobby Lobby along with some more of those
pretty deep red berries. And then y'all I finally put up
our garland. Oh my gosh so I have to tell you
I struggle with filming putting this garland up every year because it's such
a hot mess. I always drop it a hundred times.
Everything always goes wrong. This year I had to have the girls help me out and
listen. Sometimes life is just too chaotic to
film. This is an old garland that I got from Hobby Lobby
years ago but I think I did get these little brass bells last year. I wouldn't
be surprised if they were still there. This is that gorgeous
deep red kind of velvety ribbon. It's actually made of 100%
cotton which I love. Let me give you a little bit closer look at it.
Here you can see it a little bit better. It just has such a soft
feel to it and because it's 100% cotton and all made of the same material
it's the same color on the front as it is on the back.
It just gives it such a beautiful and droopy authentic look. So I have
three of these going up our stairs. I told you that I do like to keep the red
to a minimum and really just let it pop. And then down here I have this beautiful
linen stocking that my friend Cammie from the blog Tidbits gave me last year.
She sells these and they're just gorgeous. And then
again my friend Tammie from the YouTube channel
Our Prairie Farmhouse, the one who gave me the quilt and everything, she gave us
also a matching stocking. And so since these don't go with our
other four I like to keep them together over here and I think they look so
cute at the end of our newel post. This is one of the sweetest little vignettes
that we have in our home. I just got the one gift that I have
quote-unquote wrapped over here and I actually have to do a ton of
wrapping tonight so I'm going to be diving into this wrapping paper.
I did put a couple, I only had enough to make three
of these kind of like smaller versions of the ribbons that are on our stairs
but I think it's enough to give it the little pop of red that I wanted.
These we've had for a while but we are really thinking a lot about cardinals
and my grandma this time of year. And then we've got lots of like handmade
stuff on here as well. This is a little note from Harold that was made
possibly by, you know, who knows, but it says
Dear Hoffmans, I hope you get to have an awesome time with your cousins.
May your trip be merry, Harold. So Harold is the name of our
little guy. And then our other daughter made
this little guy that she wanted to make sure was prominently displayed
in the very center of our tree. So you guys this tree
is, it's just a hodgepodge of lots of different things.
We have handmade ornaments, we have vintage ornaments, we have ornaments that
are new and made to look vintage. Y'all I
am loving these. Sentimental ornaments, this was Josh's
very first gift to me ever. And then, you know, we just also have
gifts from grandparents like these, just that really special thing.
I made these with you guys last year. I meant to put these all over our
garlands on our doorways, but I accidentally put them
here. I don't know what's going on. I feel like I'm losing it because I just
forget what I'm supposed to do with all this stuff every year.
We have our little sled here that has been scraped out by a four-year-old a
million times and, you know, never put back the way that it
was. But there were some mittens and some ice skates on here at one point that
looked cute. And then over here we have our beautiful
brass Indian bells. You guys know that I have an affinity for India because I
spent quite a bit of time there when I was
younger. And they're just gorgeous. And as every
home should have during Christmas time, we have our nativity right as you walk
in through our front door. And I can tell that
kids have also been messing around with this. But just super
simple, nice, white, stacked alongside some books
on my desk that I do all of my editing on. I'm sure I'm sitting at this
right now. All right and over here we have one of my favorite areas in our
home to decorate at Christmas time, our sweet little hut. Let me show you
inside of here. So you guys can see that we start out with
these sweet little wreaths. And then inside, I actually wound up
taking out the big bowl that I had right here and I placed it over the
fireplace. I just brought in some antique books and old brass candlesticks.
I have our newest addition which is these
antique ironstone red transferware dishes. And so I tried
to kind of scatter these all around our home. And then down here I have some
Currier and Ives plates that I've had for years and years. We had those in our
old house and everything. And yeah, just more of these
transferware plates, some little greenery. I think that's the
trick to having like a very natural looking Christmas is just having
greenery everywhere you can. But yeah, I did keep in a few little
hydrangeas this year. And that's our hutch looking super cute.
And then on top of our hutch, we just kept it super simple with some candles
and some unifor stems that I thrifted from Goodwill.
And then over here is our pantry. I have decided that I think that this
boxwood wreath is too large. You guys can see that it is super
cute though. I tied up one of these brass trumpets on it and it has this
cute little vintage Santa. And then up here, I try to keep it as simple as
possible. You guys recommended that we just leave the ironstone pitcher
with nothing in it. And yeah, I just brought in a little bit of kind of
muted reds and I love the candles going. And the only extra thing is that over
here, I switched out the greenery that I had
originally put in here for some of these kind of red berries and
just dropped them into this antique crock.
Let's move into our kitchen now. You guys know that this is
one of my very favorite rooms to decorate. We spend so much time in here. But first,
let's go over to this little high chair. So here's where we keep our high chair
complete with a little cheerio from this morning's breakfast. Over here again,
we're just keeping it really simple. I did this last year where I brought in
some antique sleigh bells. You guys, I found
these at the Goodwill outlet. Can you believe that?
If you can find these on a leather strap, they're like hundreds of dollars and I
could not believe it. But I love these guys. They have this
beautiful patina on them and then I just brought over
this little tiny gingham dish towel to kind of give it that pop of red.
And then on this door over here, I still have my basket
complete with this brass horn. I put this new ribbon on it
and you guys, I am just not a fan of it. I used it in a
few places. To me, it just feels a little bit orangey, a little bit bright
and so I probably will not be using it next year. And then here is this wreath
that I was talking about earlier that I used to have hanging. It
just fits so perfectly underneath this bowl and I love how
it brings in that green and those sweet red berries. This is the red
Christmas runner that I got with my friends when we went on our U2 retreat
in Walnut, Iowa last year and I just brought in this new kind of
cinnamon brown tablecloth from my friend Tammy over at
our Prairie Farmhouse and then it wouldn't be complete without a
little red transferware and an antique candle.
I stuck this tree here over into this corner. It's looking a little bit Charlie
Brown but that's okay. And then you guys, I have loved
how this wreath looks from Walmart. I can link it below.
I know that a ton of you guys loved it when I mentioned it in my video before.
It's really affordable. I just am in love with it. It might be my
favorite wreath in the house and so I wanted it prominently displayed in
our kitchen. And then up here I brought in this old
blanket that I've had since God knows when with some new little
Norfolk pine branches. Typically I have this area all lit up
but I wanted it to be off for the video with just a sweet little
candle lighting it. I feel like that just makes it feel
so little women in here. Here's our leftover cookies. They are
almost gone you guys. I have to cook up some more. Our family is
loving these. And then we brought in all of our cute little
Christmas mugs. You guys know that I am a mug fanatic. I have these beautiful
cookie presses that I have used for multiple projects.
You guys, there are more designs but why would I need more because a rose and a
pine cone are just perfect for Christmas. We've got our sweet
little cardinal. I also brought a cardinal
up here too to remind me of my grandma. And then over here is the sweet gift
that Josh surprised me with, this adorable rosemary bush.
I just brought in a couple of candles and some greenery over here.
I love our Seasons Greetings cups. I have them
in these tall and skinny ones and then we also have them in the short fat ones
up here. On our door to our side porch, I feel
like it's always so hard to see in the daytime but at night it's so
cute. It's got this little swag with some sleigh bells on it. I think
I got these from Hobby Lobby, I believe, but the strap
actually feels like leather. And then on this little
corner, I just brought in some vintage aprons. I love this. I got these both last
year. And then a hand towel that we got at a
garage sale. Also, this is where we keep all of our keys.
And just a quick peek into our bathroom. I have this cute little vintage Santa
cup for our toothbrush cup and then I decided to
bring in this pretty cinnamon color again for
our towels. I also put this cute little wreath on
here and look at these cool bulbs that you can
buy. I will link these. I got it on Amazon.
It literally looks like a real flame burning in there.
And then another little Christmas pyramid. I got this one
on Marketplace last year and sometimes when
the heat turns on from the register, it'll make it
turn on itself. So I thought that this is really cool.
On a red old book, you guys can see our new curtains and they are
shaking because it is windy outside and this room is so
poorly insulated. But we're gonna come back here into
our back porch area. We just like to keep it pretty
simple back here. Our girls spend a ton of time
back in this room and so it so easily gets messy. I told you guys that this was
looking a little bit too much like a tail in the other room so I actually
moved it back over here. I just brought in this
cute little Christmas tree. This is another one of those
from Hobby Lobby and I just wrapped it in a towel
and I set it on top of this little sled. I wanted to get it off
of the metal because I don't feel like it gets dangerously hot but I'm also not
really willing to take that risk. I just brought in this sweet copper
candle that literally smells like Christmas and then I brought in a
little pillow over here and this red book with a little bit of
Christmas cedar over here. Okay y'all and we are
going to be making our way upstairs now to the girls rooms. I had
them clean them themselves so fingers crossed that they're not
disgusting. Okay the girls actually did a pretty good job.
Up here we just brought in some vintage quilts.
I also added some little twinkle lights on tops of the beds to make them
just look super cute and then at night we have this
little tree all lit up. This is the girls tree where they keep all of
their little kid ornaments but let's be honest we have lots of little kid
ornaments on our tree too. We also brought in a little tree over
here and again this blanket is really special
because my grandma made it for me. Okay and I did turn some lights on back
here because if I don't have a light on you
literally cannot see back in these corners but this is how this little
Christmas bed ended up. We brought in this red and white
striped bedding along with this buffalo check pillow and this ticking stripe
pillow and just brought in a little bit of pine
needles behind the bed. This is the only pine that I have
like this in the house but I actually think it's really pretty. You guys can
see that I have this red and white striped bedding here again
and y'all this is why I don't like led lights. Look how it flickers
in this film. I just need to replace these things with incandescence.
Okay and moving from our playroom we're going to come over
into Ruby's room. Here is this beautiful quilt that I thrifted this year. I got
the whole set for $12 and I paired it with this
sweet cotton green throw that I guess it's not a throw it's like a full-on
blanket but I love this thing. I love putting little
classic vintage bears on their beds. I just think they're so cute and I did
forget to turn the lights off on this one so whoops it's too hard to reach the
timer back there anyway so I'm not doing it. I'm not changing
anything. Like I said we love to keep their rooms as
simple as possible because no matter what I do to simplify
they always wind up bringing in all kinds of weird things in here.
Okay and it looks like Rosie's timer is actually working correctly so
that's good and you guys I'm so excited. Finally as I'm finishing out this tour
we have some sunshine in this room but again we're just keeping it really
simple in here. Just a little teddy bear and some ticking stripe pillows and some
greenery up here and then she really wanted this little
Christmas tree in here. I was about to throw it out. This is another
Target dollar spot find but I do love these. I think I got these from
Hoppy Lobby maybe like four or five years ago and then you know
kids who can relate. All right my friend well thank you so
much for joining me on today's Christmas home tour.
I know I get a little bit chatty and you guys often request a music only home
tour. I'm going to be bringing that here soon
with my candlelight home tour. I'll give a little intro and then I'll bring you
in. We'll have lots of nice music and you
guys can see this place all lit up for Christmas.
Can I also mention something like a little bit silly?
I am noticing that our channel is getting so close to 100,000
subscribers. I know that many of you guys who return
week after week are not subscribed. Wouldn't it be so cool if we could hit
100,000 subscribers by the end of the year? I just think that that would be
such a fun goal and a way to celebrate the new
year going into 2026. And I also want to mention in the season
of gifting what a gift it is that you guys return back to our videos
week after week. Your faithfulness and your support for us puts a roof over our
head. It puts food on our table for our kids.
It is truly the greatest gift so I want to say a huge thank you for being
here and we'll see you guys in next week's
video. Bye!
