The Future Of This Channel

let's talk about the future of this channel first and foremost the channels not going anywhere this isn't bad this isn't like a clickbait so no I'm quitting or anything like that I just want to lay out where I want to see this channel going right now and I want to take you along with talk about three pillars first one is tournaments I'm not gonna stop playing tournaments but I'm downsizing if you will my golf fund this golf bank account if you will it's been diminishing this year in the wake of surgery yeah I lost about six months and I've tried to play in the wake of that and I've documented it it's been predominantly struggles there's been a couple good rounds here and there but I've only lost money playing golf so tournament golf is going to take a little bit of a smaller role moving forward a lot of that yes do the financial side of things that's all so I'm just I'm not enjoying it I'm really struggling to have fun playing tournament golf right now and if I'm not having fun and I'm just wasting money doesn't make a lot of sense to keep throwing myself headfirst into it so my travel schedule for tournament golf isn't going to increase in fact it's going to decrease I'm only gonna play stuff for the foreseeable future that is close to home I played one last week in Daytona Beach hour and 10 minutes drive from the house each day first round was fun I enjoyed it played half decent was right in the middle of the pack second round didn't play well I didn't enjoy it as much but I was able to let it go it didn't lingered and kind of hold with me so that's really good the next tournament I'm gonna play is in about a month from now in Ormond Beach five minutes closer I can drive from home and then in January I'll play a tournament that's actually across the street or down the street from Southampton at st. John's so that'll be really great but that's the foreseeable future for tournaments right now don't have cue school on my agenda and don't plan on putting it on the schedule it just I don't want to spend in five six seven weeks on the road and I'm enjoying my life making videos playing a little bit of golf and just having fun with the game at all so that kind of leads me into pillar number two the videos since starting the channel in 2017 a documented predominantly professional golf developmental tour golf mini tour golf and it's been a blast sure there's been little videos here and there there's been practice there's been challenges there's been blogs and course vlogs and that's been kind of evolving as we go and that's not gonna stop I'm gonna keep making two videos a week Monday and Thursday and then on Wednesdays every once in awhile like today will be kind of a special video a talking video a work harder Wednesday a fitness video a well in this video so any video that isn't necessarily just a golf video I'm not gonna deprive you of a regular upload with it I'm gonna add it to the weekly schedule so that's what the schedule is gonna look like what these golf videos will look like well in the wake of kind of not enjoying tournament golf I've been really enjoying youtube and making videos more than ever I kind of realized this summer that being competitive and being creative struggle to mix together they're both very taxing exhausting time consuming energy consuming and they just really kind of feed from each other as opposed to feed into each other I thought they really could feed into each other but it's really really difficult so the creative output of videos I want to keep doing the videos I've been doing of late I think any longtime viewer can probably notice about the last month the the complexion of the channel has changed and I think it's a parent to see just how much fun I'm having with these videos for a while their videos were just being made because I felt like I had to make them and I had to let you into my practice and let you into my tournament golf and I just wasn't enjoying it I was ashamed guilty a little bit here and there trying to explain it well struggling and that's not been fun I think that week of playing golf with viewers really changed things for me and it made me realize just how much fun the game of golf can be I hated recreational golf I only wanted to practice and play tournaments that's the only place of golf that I found fun but in the last couple months and that particular week things changed I had fun meeting people on the golf course playing random games with with new people hearing people's stories through the game of golf and its really energized me and that's what I want to keep doing with this channel I want to have fun golf videos course vlogs matches challenges like with old clubs with one club I just want to have fun with the game of golf and share that fun with you I still hold myself to a high standard I still want to be a great golfer and I want to lose my ability as a player so I'm going to keep practicing I'm gonna keep training I'm gonna document that and hopefully can help you out with your practice and your tournament play but if it just helps you have more fun playing golf than we're winning if it's just a great release to put a smile on your face for ten minutes away from this noisy stressful world then we're still winning so that's where the videos are going third pillar is the patreon page I've had a patreon page since 2018 March of 2018 and it's been amazing it's been a group of people that have been believing and supporting in my dream as a player but also as a storyteller filmmaker youtuber and I'm so grateful for each and every one of those patrons I feel like I haven't given my best to those patrons and to the patreon page so I'm looking to revamp the patreon page completely and create more for those awesome people and create a community that lives like alongside the YouTube channel not just something that passively sits there but something that's active and thriving and exciting complement to the YouTube channel so it's link below but there's gonna be three new pillars $4 pillar basically you just believe in this channel you believe in what I'm doing the game of golf when you want to support you want to skip a coffee once a month and slide four bucks the channels that's the first level second level is eight dollars and what you get at that level is access to the secret video this secret video every month for the patrons is basically like a podcast but a video it's gonna be like a QA AMA where I'll ask you four questions you patrons answer those questions and once a month that video will be uploaded so that's the $8 here and then a twelve dollars here you have access to that secret video you get a shirt one merch piece golf is hard at age a whatever new merch comes you get a shirt and you'll also just get early access to videos I film a bunch of videos at the same time and edit them all at the same time and I upload them to YouTube and they're just kind of waiting they're cute to be premiered to go live so when a video is done and ready that level of patrons you're gonna be able to see it before anyone else so I want to create something that lives alongside the YouTube channel and that's what pagent patreon page is gonna be from now on that's it that's the future of the channel nothing drastic just small little refinements where I want to give more value to each and every one of you because I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for you like honestly this YouTube channel would not exist if it wasn't for each and every one of you that watches my videos that comments on these videos that shares these videos that just loves what we're doing here on YouTube and I'm so grateful for each and every one of you so thank you I'm not going away anytime soon we're just gonna keep pumping out bigger and better videos more fun and sharing this joy for the game of golf and if I start playing tournaments and having more fun playing tournaments and playing better tournaments again obviously we're going to share in that and I want to share in your success on the golf course as well so that is it that's what we're going I hope you enjoyed it stay tuned tomorrow that's what regularly-scheduled golf video but until then face [Music]
