welcome back to the channel welcome back
to the garage that means one thing we're
talking shop we're digging in we're
getting five wood gapper and I've
already got my UDI in my golf bag but
I'm taking these three clubs out to the
driving range to the course and we're
gonna basically compare Club to club to
club they're all about the same law so
they all should go the same distance but
they all will create different ball
flights and have different functions and
uses for me out on the golf course and
I'll be able to kind of tell you why I
use UDI instead of these two all right
here are our contenders our participants
whatever whatever you want to call it
first up we have p7 90 UDI to our and
this is the new one that just came out
about a month ago this is what I'm using
in the bag right now it has a modis NS
pro 130 extra stiff shaft
I believe 18 or 19 degrees I don't
recall and we have the gapper I've been
using this for all of this year up until
about three four weeks ago three gapper
19° gapper low it has a Mitsubishi
Tensei 90 hybrid flex TX shaft and then
third up we have the m5 five would set
on 19 degrees as well nothing changed
here standard weight it has a graphite
design - or 8d isay extra stiff shaft
haven't used this actually out on a golf
course at all since getting it I just
struggle I hit the golf ball high as is
and I just struggle with taking this out
on a golf course but these are our three
participants
contestants whatever you want to call it
this is what we're comparing today I'm
gonna start by hitting three shots off a
tee with each Club get the numbers with
flight scope me bow and we can kind of
look at the average of each Club and
compare them Club the club the club and
then from there we'll hit some shots off
the turf and just show how much
playability each Club has first up going
with the p7 90 UDI I kind of grabbed
this at around 240 this is 242 245 carry
obviously with range balls it might be
down a little bit but let's try to get
three solid ones
spend I was a good one there to 38.3
[Music]
while we're there
here we go 230 and 235 227 club that
speed 108 108 107 150 150 148 smash
that's about the same that third one
obviously the carry was down a little
bit cuz the spin was up launched right
around 12 13 for all of them the height
this is where I pay attention to the
height of this 36 34 38 feet I can keep
that thing down off the tee that's what
to really pay attention to in all of
this right now start a new session two
hybrid so this is going to be gapper now
[Music]
to 31.6 ball speed about the same
Lovette speed about the same launch and
spin with a little higher I think I
remember right
fine
okay so just hit three pretty solid ones
there let's look at these numbers these
averages carry - 31 - 31 to 33 club head
speed up on that first one down a little
bit ball speed 150 149 149 50 spin I
think is a lot higher I'm gonna sit down
and compare them all launch higher
height look at that
48 45 35 so the height right away is
higher on this one off the tee now let's
hit the five players this is where we're
really gonna see some height so we'll
start a new session here five would kind
of whiff that one off the heel spin
obviously is gonna be down club at speed
way down with the carry was up relative
to the UDI
[Music]
get that one off the deal as well
oh I hit that one solid and it went to
the moon it went so high so let's look
at those numbers 235 235 235 club head
speed is actually down in this don't
know why maybe probably because I feel
like I can really go at the UDI because
I have a lot more trust in it ball speed
right around 150 spin up
not surprisingly launch up not
surprisingly height up not surprisingly
okay now we're gonna have some fun
gonna take clubs try to use some shot
ricer and show you just how I can flight
each Club and how one of these three is
a lot easier to flight and that's why I
use it this is UDI lighten it down
[Music]
or stinging it if you want now it's time
to flip the gapper and I can flight this
gapper but what I find is just the way
that this is designed it's a little more
draw biased so from time to time when
I've tried to hit this low off a tee i
overcook it I draw and I don't like to
hit a draw so this is kind of what turns
me off of this but I love this club from
the fairway into a par-5 but when I try
to flight it it can go left pretty
easily
[Music]
that was pointed and it was certainly
higher than a UTI the last but not least
in the flighted tshat category let's try
to flight this five would down I mean I
really got to execute to keep this as
low as the last two so wish me luck
[Music]
yeah so that was I actually hit that
really well kind of again off the heel
just a little bit so there must be
something with this setup that is
causing it off the heel but that
flighted one still not even close to the
control or the penetrating flight the
beauty items but this for fun let's have
a few hits with the plywood off the deck
I go if I need
let's go to the cart and just look at
these numbers side by side and then
we'll call it a video so here's the
final results of those three shots for
each Club the averages beyond what I was
saying about feel and playability this
is the numbers and why I use the club I
use so they carry for the UDI on average
was 233 gapper 232 5-wood 235 so the 5-1
actually carried a couple yards further
club head speed 108 for the UDI 105 for
the gap or 101 average with the five the
5-1 I was swinging a little slower but I
was getting off the heel so that kind of
made me slows it down a bit
ball speed right around 154 all of them
spin UDI 3800 average gapper 40 100
average 5-wood 3,800 average as well
lower speed off the heel kind of knuckle
II although so they didn't have a ton of
spin launched 1315 14 the UDI is
launching lower carrying a couple yards
less but that's that's what I want here
you have the height UTIs height 36 feet
on average gaffer's height 42 feet on
average five wood height 39 feet on
average so there you see it right there
why I choose UDI and like I said I can
play with UDI I don't have a problem
with hitting you I off the deck into a
par-5 if I need to so that is why I use
UDI but UDI is not for everybody to
irons not for everybody you want to use
the club that best suits your game so if
you have to hit higher shots into greens
on your par fours maybe a 5-wood maybe a
rescue a hybrid it's better if you play
firm and fast golf courses maybe a long
iron is better really comes down to what
you're capable of hitting what shots you
want to hit
and what best suits your game if I'm
playing a golf course where I need to
carry it over stuff at 235 to 245 in the
par fives or in the long par fours maybe
the five woods a better Club for me to
have at that golf course but if I'm
playing a golf course where I want to
keep it in play off the tee and hit at
about 250 and maybe if it's firmer get
some more run and get it up to 270 the
UDI is always going to be the choice for
me so that's why UDI is in my bag right
now and I don't see it coming out of the
bag hope you enjoyed this video I hope
you enjoyed this little insight into
these three clubs let me know down below
what you use if it's a 5-wood if it's a
rescue if it's a driving iron or if this
is just straight up to iron 3 iron or
whatever subscribe if you haven't and
I'm going to see you in the next video
