welcome back to the channel and welcome
back to work harder Wednesday you've
asked for it and it's back probably the
first one of 2019 so that calls for new
intro
[Music]
yes we're harder Wednesday is back and
I've got some little golden drills three
awesome drills to help you with your
your rhythm your sequencing your tempo
whatever you want to call it
these are awesome drills that I trust
rely on offseason during tournaments for
long sessions at the end of sessions
midway through sessions these are drills
that I use all the time very very simple
drills and the dive right into the right
now the first one was called the
two-step drill
what it is is a drill where you take a
step back with your backswing and you
step through with your through slow and
if your rhythm or sequencing is off your
timing is off you're gonna chunk it
you're gonna finish this drill nothing
hides this is something that will test
your patience when you're on song when
you're swinging really well this drill
will be very very easy you're not
worried about positions you're not
worried about technique you're just
worried about rhythm you're worried
about sequencing you're worried about
timing and when you do it right you're
gonna hit it so so so solidly so that's
the first rail the two step drill second
drill you need a dowel rod and basically
you're gonna put it in your left hand
you have a small one you can put it
right into the butt of the grip but this
one won't fit so you hold it up against
the grip against your left hand and
you're gonna hit little half shots with
it and again this forces you to be in
sequence but also to get the lower body
moving first if the arms race a little
bit too fast you're gonna hit yourself
if the arms kind of go a little bit too
slow they're gonna hit into the ground
you're gonna hit yourself if the lower
body moves
properly in the sequencing of the upper
body time the lower body works
you're gonna hit these little half
wedges just beautifully when you hit it
solidly you're gonna know by the feel to
chunk it you'll know you thin it you'll
know so again very very simple drill all
you need is an alignment stick or a
dowel rod whatever you want to call it
the last drill I've done video I think
about this entirely but this is a
slow-motion golf swing this is a drill
where you just grab a wedge and you
swing a super super slow the Taichi
swing some people call it some people
Ben Hogan he would make two minute long
golf swings to really feel where he was
at what he was doing and how he wanted
things to move again if your rhythm gets
out of whack
you're gonna rush it you'll chunk it
you'll fin it you'll know right away if
you don't accomplish what you're meant
to accomplish if you keep the rhythm
intact
moving nice and slow Taichi baby you'll
hit it solidly obviously you'll hit it
only 10 20 30 40 yards but you'll hit it
right off the sweet spot when you do it
right but this also gives you a great
indication great sense of feel of what
you want the body to do whatever you and
your coach or whatever you saw on TV
that you want to try to emulate slow it
down
and you're gonna feel it really really
amplified in the Tai Chi coaster that's
it three really really simple drills
don't cost you anything beyond basically
just the dowel rod the alignment stick
these drills are gonna help your rhythm
are gonna help your sequencing are going
to help your tempo whatever you want to
call it I hope people learn and this I
hope you enjoy these drills I hope you
enjoy that work harder Wednesday is back
I don't think it's gonna be a weekly
thing but it's definitely back from
retirement it's back from the day so
stay tuned for more work on Wednesdays
in the future and I'll see you guys in
the next video
