Hi friends, I hope you're doing well. Today I wanted to do a classic
tutorial. It's been a long time since we focused on a tutorial meaning like
focusing on technique and today I'm actually going to be recreating a look.
It's been a long time since I've done that.
I was floored scrolling on Instagram a few weeks back
and I saw Nikki Makeup who is one of my favorite celebrity makeup artists.
She did a look on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and it is
phenomenal you guys. I will pop it up right here. It's
so beautiful and so glamorous but really like
approachable and everyday feeling. I mean Rosie is stunning
and so I was like oh my gosh I want to recreate this look. I even went as far as
to be like I want a similar shirt. I actually found
the exact shirt so I'm wearing the same shirt to recreate this look.
I just think there was something about the entire vibe of it that just really
captured my attention. I think Nikki Makeup has a way of
doing the most beautiful glamorous like
they're full glam looks but they never look overpowering. There's always a
level of like effortlessness to it and I think the
amount of product she applies her balance is perfect. I just love her
look so we're going to be recreating this with products that
I already have nothing new. So let's just get into it. I'm going to have this
picture here for reference. So we're going to be
going through each step together. Now I don't know if Rosie's
wearing earrings but I decided to put on some earrings today
just to kind of complete the look. Oh my gosh I'm so excited. Okay
I think let's start with complexion because I'm looking at her eye look and
it seems like something that we could do
afterwards. So let's prep the skin really fast. I'm going to use
my Reveal Beauty Signature Skin Dream Barrier Cream. This is
always always a great place to start when it comes to
skin prep. I feel like Nikki Makeup does really
great glowy complexion looks and she's very strategic about the
places she powders and everything like that so we're going to try to keep the
complexion a little more on the glowy healthy side
even compared to what I personally prefer. I do have my lip renewal
treatment oil on my lips as well. By the way I'll have all the products that I'm
using down below. I half planned this video
because I kind of wanted to go with the flow and see
where we end up since I am recreating a look.
Let's go in with a little bit of foundation.
Now I'm really wanting to use something glowy.
I'm debating between let's see hmm you know what
I really enjoyed this Maybelline foundation last time. Listen I know this
is you know using things that I already
have and technically this is a pretty new product to me but
I still think it's going to give me the look I'm hoping for. Actually before we
do that I'm kind of backtracking a little bit. I
think I want to apply something glowy because I feel like
Nikkie Makeup always has something like glowy underneath the skin or it makes
things look really glowy so let's go in with my
Iconic London Underglow Blurring Primer. I think this is going to give us like
that nice glowy prepped look underneath the
foundation so I'm just going to use my foundation brush
to apply this actually. We're going to focus this on like the
outsides of the face a little bit more and then of course I am going to apply
like the forehead as well but most of it I want kind of in this area here.
All right now we're going to go in with a little bit of the Maybelline foundation.
This is the Plump and Glow foundation from Maybelline and I
got the shade 90. It's a really beautiful
glowy type of foundation. I feel like the shade is a little bit light for me but
it works out when it's blended out because it's not
like a super full coverage foundation so I think it's all gonna
go well. I've just been craving doing like a more classic
tutorial type of a video and sometimes I don't always think to like
film these types of videos if that makes sense because sometimes I'll save a look
on Instagram just for myself and I'll like recreate
it you know when I'm not filming but I'm
realizing that like maybe I should film these
more you know what I mean? Let me know in the comments if you guys like
more like strict tutorial based how-to type videos. I mean this one is more of a
how to recreate this look style but I mean I could do more
technique focused ones. You tell me. Okay I think it looks so good. I honestly feel
like this foundation does give almost a plumpness to the skin
plus Dream Cream always does too so things are looking really healthy and
juicy. It's exactly what I was going for. Okay
I'm trying to like kind of zoom into the picture a bit.
She has gorgeously structured cheeks. I mean her
natural face structure is so good. So let's use something. Let's do a little
warmth and then a little contour. I'm thinking I'm going to use maybe this
Westman Atelier liquid bronzer. Actually I don't know if I've used this
that much but I feel like it's going to give me the warmth I'm looking for with
a little bit of glow. This is the Sun Tone Bronzing Drops and
this is the first shade, the lightest shade.
Let's start here and see what happens. If you're recreating this look you could
just use any sort of like liquidy bronzer.
Something that's serum based. I was going to use the
Mario one which I really love. You guys know.
But I feel like that one is a little bit more on the cool tone side.
She's got a little warmth to her. I'm trying to make it like
you know suit my skin tone because she does have a bit of a tan
compared to me. But let's go ahead and apply this kind of in the
areas that I'm seeing she's got a little bronze which is up in the forehead
of course here. And I feel like Nikki always likes to
sculpt the jaw as well so we're gonna do that a bit.
And I also love the like kind of bronze she's got going in
the eye socket here. So we're gonna do a bit of that too
because it's kind of a warmer color she has going on there.
It's so pretty and seamless though. So I'm gonna take that same,
this is really nice. I don't know why I haven't really used this yet.
It's just been sitting on my desk. Let me see. I'm gonna put a little bit more of
that on the back of my hand. This has a little bit of a glow to it
too. I don't know if you can see that which is nice for what I'm going for.
I'm gonna take that on like the sides of the neck as well.
And I don't want to get my shirt like messy really but
I do want to add a little bit of this maybe
right there just to kind of warm things up slightly for me.
Okay let's take a smaller brush. Maybe this one from
Nikki La Rose's collection, the new volume 2. This is the Nikki La Rose BK
Beauty N22 brush. And let's do like a solid
little contour moment here. So it looks like there actually is
some warmth there that goes into her eye look. So we'll kind of spread it into
the eye. And then let's take it just down the
sides of the nose slightly. And I might touch this up in a
little bit after we do like concealer.
It seems like a good place to start. Okay I'm gonna kind of press that down
and this will kind of blend out a bit as well once I add
concealer. So let's jump into concealer actually now that it's time to do so.
And I want to use my, here it is, my Estee Lauder concealer. This is the one
that I've been using every day. Instead of putting it right on
the eyes, I'm gonna take it on a brush just to control the shape a little
better. Because again I'm really wanting this
look to be sculpted. But I feel like Nikki never
overdoes the amount of product on the client which I love. She just
works in little layers. And it looks like Rosie doesn't have
like a super bright under eye in this look. So
this shade actually is a bit more toward my actual skin tone versus like
brightening my under eyes. So it works out in that way as well I
feel for this look. It looks like there's a bit of
brightness that comes up here. So I'm taking it
into this area as well. And on the sides of the nose
there's definitely a bit of brightness there. And it kind of like gets lighter
and gets smoother here. So I'm going to do that on my lips a
little bit. She also has a bit of brightness like right here and a
little above the brows it looks like. I'm going to take a bit more concealer
just for right here. I'm taking this on my A506 brush. This is from
AK Beauty. And everything is just so seamless there. I also I'm going to kind
of sharpen up the jaw right here. I'm wondering I was
going to add a bit more of like a cooler tone
to the look. Maybe I still will. Maybe just a smidge.
I feel like I want just a smidge of like a proper contour color for me.
This is Anastasia Beverly Hills contour stick.
And I just want like a little bit right here.
Just to like really emphasize those cheekbones a bit more.
Like that. Maybe a bit here as well.
And we'll chuck a bit into the eye socket too.
Before we do eyeshadow. I feel like everything else is
on the warmer side. So I'm not going to overdo
the more like proper contour shade if that makes sense. I'm just going back over
everything with my BK Beauty 109 brush which we used for
the primer and the foundation. I think that's looking
good. And I like the level of glow that we have. It's not overpowering.
But it's not something that like I need to powder all the way.
Okay let's keep looking at this reference photo.
Okay I feel like for a blush. I feel like hmm what to do now. I think I am
going to powder. Let's take a little bit of my Huda
Beauty powder. And I'm going to take that on the
Niki LaRose N20 small brush. I'm going to take this brush. I love this
brush. It's new to me but it's so good because
I feel like it allows you to not overdo the powder whatsoever.
I'm just going to kind of like buff this
under the eyes and kind of like swirl it if that makes sense.
So that we can get like a really seamless
very like precise powder if that makes sense.
So I'm leaving the cheeks pretty bare. Which normally you guys know I love to
set the whole face. But we're just focusing on the concealer
areas really. To just set that. I'm going to kind of
powder a bit through the brows though. Okay I'm going to do brows next. I'm
going to use my Review Beauty brow pencil for this. Now
Rosie's brow shape is quite different than mine. And in that picture which I'll
pop up again for reference. She has a little bit more of like
straight up fluffy brows which is very signature to Niki makeup if you've
followed her before. Which by the way you should follow her. If you don't like
I'll put her Instagram down below because it's just spectacular.
She just inspires me so much. But in the dry flaky skin
I am flabbergasted over here at what's going on.
What in the world? My skin is like literally flaking.
I have been using like a different serum. I feel like it's messing with my makeup
today. Okay we're gonna continue though. So
anyways I'm just gonna do my eyebrow shape the way that suits me best.
Like I'm not gonna try to recreate quite her shape. I will try to do my
brow gel a little more like fluffy if that makes
sense though. Her brows look so good though.
It almost looks like there's a bit of a brow pen involved.
I'm just gonna stick to a pencil for me today. Okay now for the fun part.
The eye look. I feel like there's a lot of mattes going on so I figured I would
start out kind of creating structure with this
palette. This is the Natasha Denona iSculpt Texture and Tone palette.
This is the soft version. I just feel like it has the perfect tones for what
she's got going on. So let's start here. By the way I don't
know if you guys saw there's a Sephora sale happening kind of right now.
Well you can use a code and I can't remember off the top of my
head what the code is. But I'll have the little image right here.
So if you want to like pick up some of these palettes for example
it's not like the savings event where you have to have a certain tier to get
20% off. You get 20% off your whole cart but it's
just like a one-time use. So just a PSA. I meant to mention that
earlier but better late than never. Okay so let's go into P2. We're gonna start
building up a little bit of structure and depth with this shade kind
of like right here connecting to that area where
we had the bronzer coming in. I'm just going to
slowly build that up and blend it out as well. This is such a
pretty pretty pretty eye look. She's got like a little bit of a
brightness on the lid and it seems like a little bit of a shimmer.
So I'm going to kind of recreate that. I'm going to start with R1 which is the
matte shade in this palette and we're going to create like a little
bit of that brightness on the eyelid. I feel like I need a
bigger brush for that. Hang on. Here we go. I'm going to take the BK
Beauty 203. I like to pack that on the lid. What I
loved most about this was kind of like that brighter
eyelid and then there's like a smoky lash line. So I really want
to spend a bit of time on this brighter eyelid so that
when we do the eyeliner and kind of smudge it,
it has a little bit more of a contrast but in like a really subtle
nice way. Okay I'm just building that up and again it looks like she has a tiny
bit of shimmer. It's not full sparkle. It's just a little
bit and it honestly looks very similar to this
palette. This color here called C1. So I'm going to take that and apply it.
Maybe I'll use my finger for that. Yeah because I kind of got a
little bit of fallout. Whoops. I'm just going to apply that right on
top of R1 for that hint of shimmer. Again it's
not sparkle. It's very subtle but it is all
over the lid it looks like and it is a little bit in the inner
corner. Sweep away some of that fallout. Burn it. Okay. I'm so excited
because like it looks so similar to some of my eyeliners that I created. I
feel like that's why I love this look. I was like wait
I think I could make that with my eyeliners. So I'm going to take the shade
um Drift which is that kind of taupey gray
shade that I created and I'm going to go this is from a Vividi.
I'm going to go into the lash line and kind of smudge this and she has like
quite a smudged like liner look. So I'm going to kind of layer this I think.
Let's see how far this takes us. I'm going to take my eyeliner brush and
kind of sweep it inward because she does have it going in
all the way to the inner corner. It's so pretty.
And a little bit kind of in this crease here. So I'm just going to take a bit of
that and kind of like sharpen up the crease a
little too. I'm going to keep kind of building that up
until I've got the intensity similar to what she has going on.
We'll do a second layer again kind of like moving it out
to the edge and then going into the crease slightly with it as well.
It's so pretty. Okay I feel like that's a good enough amount for
this color and then I might go in with my black.
I do feel like now that I'm zooming in it almost looks like she's got
some depth and it could be the mascara but I don't know
quite yet. So I'm just going to keep kind of blending out drift
which looks so similar to what color is on her lid.
That's what makes me so excited. She does actually have it
actually buffed into this area a little bit more so I'm going to do a little more
on this side too. So pretty. Okay I'm doing the line a
little bit more like blurred than usual because that's kind
of what she has. It's a little bit more of a rounded
definition on the eyes. It's so pretty and then it gets more and more intense
as you get closer to the lash line. So I'm trying to build it up
and that actually inspired me saying that out loud. So I'm going to actually
sharpen this to get nice and precise. This is our
sharpener by the way which is currently out of stock but
we're working on a restock. So don't worry if you haven't got your
hands on it. It's a permanent item so we will restock and I will let you know
as soon as possible. Now that it's a little sharper though I
can get right into the lash line and I'm not going to smudge this out
because I do want that intensity right up close.
Maybe even do a bit of tight lining with this too
just so that we have that lash line intensified the way she does.
And I don't know if she has a black eyeliner so I'm just gonna
opt in for a black mascara just to keep it a little softer
but I do think there's possibly some tight lining
so I'm doing that. We're gonna bring this into the inner corner as well
because it does look like she's got something
in that inner corner and then she does have something
along that lower lash line as well but we'll get there in a second.
Oh maybe I'll put a bit of the whatever's left of drift
kind of smudge right there. She has something a little bit shimmery
as well which we'll add. It's so pretty. Everything is so pretty.
I just love this look. Okay let's take a little bit of actual
eyeshadow. So it looks like she's got some shimmer
on the lower lash line too so I'm gonna actually mix C1 and
C2 on that same brush actually just for a little bit of sparkle.
And then lucky for me it looks like she's wearing an eye brightener but not
something too stark. So that's where I was so excited
because I was like wait totally use my eyeliners for this whole
look. I'm just gonna sharpen mine a little bit and then soften the tip on
the back of my hand to kind of warm it up.
Then we'll do just like one swipe. She doesn't have a too stark of a water
line. I think I kind of went overboard on this eye on accident. I'm just gonna
tap that down a little bit so it's less stark. Okay and then she's got a good
like beefy mascara on the top. So I want to
use this one. It's been a while. This House Labs Be Structural mascara.
Before I do that I'm gonna tone down this area here. I feel like I want a
Do I have enough of that kind of gray color?
I might add. Sorry I'm going all over the place. I might take a little bit of the
C2 shade because I do feel like there's a
little bit of like a contour on this outer piece that I'll just kind
of blend into the shadow or to the eyeliner I mean.
You know? I feel like there's something there.
Yeah that seems a little more accurate. Okay let's
beef things up with the mascara. I feel like that's where
more of the intensity shows through. So let's do a nice big coat of mascara on
the top lashes. Sometimes Nikki Makeup will post the
products she used. Well actually more often than not it's
actually really fun to read through all the products she uses but she didn't on
this one. She gatekept all of them so I'm just
here guessing. But I think that's the point.
It's kind of fun right? To just look at the colors and grab what you have
versus thinking you need a specific thing to recreate it.
Yeah I think this mascara is actually a great one for this
look and it's a little bit more focused on the outer part of her
lash. I can't tell if she's got individual lashes on or if it's just
mascara. I'm just going to do mascara. I guess it depends on your own personal
lash thickness and length. So if you wanted to add
some individuals you totally could. I'm just going to keep it
to mascara. I think it kind of matches the vibe.
I'm focusing that on the outer corner a little bit more.
She does have a bit on the lower lash line so I'm going to do that
or on the lower lashes I should say. Which I love a good
lower lash mascara. This would actually potentially be a beautiful
inspo for a bridal look. This would like suit
any occasion. But seriously like imagine a bridal look.
It's so nice. All right let's move back to like the complexion a little bit.
Honestly looking at her blush it's like kind of peachy.
I feel like Daydream is going to be a great option for this so let's do this.
I'm going to take my Revu Beauty Baked Blush in the shade Daydream which is
beautiful like soft peachy pink and I like the blush placement here.
So it looks a little bit further back on the cheeks. Kind of like
right where the contour is almost. Right here.
So I'm going to do that and it does come up a little higher on her cheeks too.
Toward the back only. So I'm going to stick to that placement.
I'm using my Revu blush brush to apply that.
Golly this is looking so nice. You know I forget sometimes to like challenge
myself with look recreations because it does
help me kind of do something different on my face or
have you know a different placement of things.
But I normally don't do because I kind of have like my own
way of doing things. This is so fun. Add just a little to the forehead.
Maybe a little right here. It kind of looks like she's got that same color just
lightly right here. I could be wrong but I'm adding it.
And maybe just a bit to the chin too for freshness. This is looking
so good. Now for the lips. I was studying the lip combo and again it's very like
peachy. Very pink. Very gorgeous. I'm thrilled to try to recreate this.
Let's take off any foundation on the lips. I'm almost feeling like
the lip liner looks like Honey a bit which is from Revu Beauty as well.
Just looking like very similar. Makes me so excited. This is so fun.
So let's start by lining the lips with Honey.
This is my Soft Definition Longwear lip liner which I always blend out with my
fingers. This is so pretty. It's definitely a
very similar color actually. She for sure has a gloss on but she's got
some of that like peachiness in there as well. So I'm gonna do
something I love to do when I'm trying to like match my lip to my cheek. I'll
take a bit of blush. This usually works with a cream blush
but these um baked blushes are so creamy
that I often like to use them to like tie in the blush to the lips. I'm just
taking my fingers and kind of tapping that into the lips.
I need a sparkly gloss. Let me go look at my stash. Hang on.
I grabbed a couple. One of them is a little bit more cool toned. One has some
golden flecks in it. I'm almost leaning toward the golden one.
This is Pat McGrath Earth Angel which apparently she used
during the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Now it's kind of sold out
in a lot of places. I'll see if I can find it. You know it does kind of look
like this. It almost looks like she's got these
pink particles in it that are peeking through. I'm kind of trying to
zoom in on her lips to see. It kind of looks like it. I'll never know
for sure but I do like how the pink kind of ties into the
cheeks as well. I feel like that's not too shabby right?
That's pretty spot on right? I think that seems to be everything.
This is such a pretty look you guys. Oh my gosh I love it. I'm gonna take a
bit of my Janessa Myricks setting spray. Let's first assess
the situation. I think everything is where we want it to
be and it's so odd that I haven't like powdered the entire face but that was
the point and I actually love how it looks. I love the eye look as
well. I think I've got everything where I want it.
Oh wait she kind of has like a little bit of a highlighter. That's one thing
about Nikki makeup. She does use a good highlighter.
So I'm gonna grab. She usually uses like a liquid highlight sometimes.
Let me see what I've got. We're gonna stick with a classic I decided.
We're gonna go with this because I was like
I could do so many things. I didn't want to do a liquid I decided
last minute. So we're gonna use this and I'm gonna take that on a
brush. I'm gonna mix the top two shades. So this is the Dior
Backstage Glow Face Palette. It's iconic. I love it
and we're gonna focus this like right where
it looks like she's got highlight. Just right here for a little bit more
of a glow but it's not anything crazy so I didn't want to add
anything too bright. I want to take a bit of that in the inner corner though like
that. You know I have a fondness for Nikki
makeup during COVID because she would do these
story tutorials and they were so fabulous.
So phenomenal. I learned so much from her and so that's how I know she always
uses the highlight. Yeah I feel like there's a little hint
of something there. That's the extent of what I want to do on
the cheeks for highlight. Now we're going to take a little bit of
the Danessa Myricks Setting Spray just for the center of the face. I feel like
we've got enough glow so I want this to last all day obviously.
So I'm just going to spritz that down the middle
and if a little goes on the sides of the face that's fine but we'll let that dry
and then I need to stick my brows up a little bit more which I'll be using the
Rare Beauty Brow Gel for that. I feel like it's so good for that type
of an effect. Just using a bit of powder whatever's left on that brush
through the T-zone one last time. I feel like we've
pretty much got it right? Is there a little more definition on the lower
lash line? I'm second guessing myself a little bit.
This is so optional. I'm just kind of a perfectionist.
I'm gonna put a little bit of a deeper shadow.
I'm just gonna run that one last time underneath
those lower lashes for maybe a little bit more of an accurate
definition there. It's so subtle but I think it's there. Let's do
my brow gel. Again this one is Rare Beauty and I will kind of like
stand my brows up a little more than typical just to kind of match
the vibe of hers without going as high up.
I do like the fluffiness of the front of the brow though so maybe I'll try to
stand up those brow hairs a little bit more
kind of try not to make them too high. Well well well
that sure was fun. Okay let's take the hair down and see what our situation is.
I love this look! I love it. I did my hair nice and wavy like
her. I literally tried to recreate the
whole entire look you can't tell down to the shirt.
So how did we do? We have the same top as well.
I know I'm not blonde but the makeup I think that's pretty accurate.
Pretty darn accurate if I do say so myself you know?
With the slight glow on the cheeks the lips
look pretty much identical. The eyes are definitely I feel like they look softer
on me because this is a flash photo for her
so if it was a flash photo you would be able to see some of that eyeliner
definition a little bit you know more intensely. Overall very
proud of my recreation. I hope you guys enjoyed this.
This could genuinely be one of my favorite looks that I've done
in a long time. I think the eyes are different for me even though it's not
intense like it's not like a full blown smoky eye or anything like that just
that extra definition along the lash line
really made a huge difference. I love the glowier skin.
I love the lip combo. I love that peachiness but everything else is very
very soft. Like seriously imagine this on a
wedding day or maybe it's your bridal shower or maybe you're a
bridesmaid. Like it feels very timeless and very bridal to me.
Even down to this shirt you know what I mean? I love this.
I love it so much. I hope you guys love this look as much as I do. If you can't
tell I'm really really in love with how it turned out. Recreating looks is
really fun. Gosh I should do this more often because I do feel like it's a
little bit of a challenge. It allows my brain to see things a
little differently and try to match colors which is really fun for me.
I do feel like I have a little bit of a knack for color so I really do enjoy
trying to pull things that match but it allowed me to do something
different you know even though I feel very much like myself. This is
one of my favorite looks I've done in a long time especially the eye look. I feel
like I'm going to recreate this over and over just to be able to like
have a timeless go-to glam yet very soft makeup look
that really just boosted my confidence. I love
this look! Okay I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. I
will have everything that I used today in the description box down
below. But again like if you're like me and
you're just recreating this you can find similar things in your stash.
I mean this look definitely has colors that you probably own
like a nice peachy pink blush, a nice like
nudey pink lip liner. You can use whatever peachy pink blush you have on
the center of the lips with a sparkly gloss.
You know what I mean? And a mostly matte eyeshadow palette.
These things you probably have. The colors are not
anything that's super hard to find. They're very like neutral.
So if you recreate this look tag me and then tag Nikki. If you haven't followed
her on Instagram again definitely follow her. I'll have her
page link down below. It's just like she's one of my favorite people to
follow and she's so inspiring to me. So yeah that's it for me today you guys.
I really am so happy with how this turned out.
I feel like we got it. I feel like it looks pretty darn accurate to me.
Golly it's so satisfying. Alright love you guys. I'm yapping now.
Hope you have a fabulous day wherever you are and I'll see you in my next
video. Love you. Bye!
