Hello and welcome to Art and Design.
My name is Torke and today we're going to be checking out an image that I drew on the iPad.
That was close.
So what I was thinking about doing with this video is basically show you a time-lapse of me drawing this image from A to Z.
Now there's one section of this image which I can't show, which is the initial creation of the alien looking thing on this picture.
So basically what I'm going to do is I'm going to press time-lapse replay and we're just going to kind of go through it.
The start of the image is where we are looking at an alien looking creature thingy.
And this alien looking creature thingy is basically a fractal structure that was created with a program called Chaotica.
And what that means is this is basically a mathematical formula, which means that you can zoom into any section of this image basically infinitely.
There's infinite detail here.
So what I was doing at this specific time was basically just kind of thinking about what I could do with it.
I was kind of having problems with the limitations of Procreate 3 because I wasn't able to accurately smudge the shapes together and kind of blend the colors and the whole thing.
But once Procreate 4 came out, this image completely blew up.
And I was so happy when they introduced the new smudge tool because I could just take any section of this image and make it exactly the way I was thinking about it.
So what I'm doing here is basically just smudging out things.
Then suddenly realized color.
With the color palette that came with Procreate 4, I started just kind of overlaying color over the whole thing and just seeing where the process was taking me.
Started adding raindrops and I felt like this alien had a kind of an umbrella, a force field umbrella, which led me to think about being downtown in pouring rain.
Downtown Reykjavik in Iceland.
And the feeling that I get when I'm in Reykjavik as a local, I'm feeling just like an alien.
There's so few times where I walk downtown in Reykjavik and actually hear some Icelandic.
It's so weird and it wasn't like that when I was growing up.
So what I'm doing here is basically figuring out how the water droplets should bounce on the umbrella force field.
So I took an image of the internet and kind of used that as a reference.
Then I went downtown and took an image from my perspective of the downtown, overlaid that, added some perspective blur.
And that's where we get this kind of perspective blur effect with colors, rain and an alien looking baffled at prices in downtown Reykjavik.
So that's the image. I hope you enjoyed the video.
So what I was thinking about doing in future videos is use the camera a bit more.
I just got this light and this background so I'm able to do more person to camera kind of videos.
And the title of this channel is Art and Design.
It's a pretty broad category when you think about it.
And I would like to hear from you, the viewers, where do you see this channel growing and what direction should we go into?
There's so many things, so many aspects that we could actually explore.
We could do perhaps experiments, we could do interviews with artists, we could learn techniques from famous artists.
Maybe one day we could actually do interviews with some very interesting artists.
But I really want to know, what ideas do you have?
Where could a channel called Art and Design go?
As for now, I want to thank you very much for watching.
Don't forget to comment, like and subscribe to this video if you did like it.
And if not, tell me what I can do to improve it.
But anyways, thank you so much for watching.
See you in the next one.
