Say hello to your new favorite camera, the Canon EOS R50V.
And trust me, this camera is a serious upgrade from your smartphone.
So let's dive into some of the details, starting with the size of the camera.
As you can see, it's very compact and it fits comfortably within your hand,
allowing it to fit easily inside any purse or bag.
Now, let's talk about the lens.
This is an RFS 14-30mm f4-6.3 IS STM power zoom lens,
meaning it has a motorized zoom mechanism.
Turning towards the T-side moves the lens towards the telephoto position,
and towards W takes you to the wide-angle position.
Next, let's talk about some of my favorite features of the Canon EOS R50V
as somebody that shoots a lot of video-based content.
This camera has a video focus dial featuring eight total modes,
seven of which are for video.
A-plus is the fully automatic mode,
and it's a great place to start as you get used to the camera.
Next, we have two of my favorite practical features of this camera
as somebody that shoots a lot of vertical content for social media.
First up is the fact that you have two record buttons with this camera.
You have one on the top of the camera and one on the front of the camera.
And once you press record, there's a tally light that will illuminate in the corner,
and the screen will have a red border to indicate you're recording.
And this gives you such peace of mind as a creator
because the last thing that you want is to think that you recorded the perfect clip,
only to go back and find that you never actually pressed the record button.
This camera has built-in horizontal and vertical mounts,
making it easy to place the camera directly on a tripod
if you're shooting in a vertical format.
But it doesn't stop there.
The camera screen also has a vertical user interface,
and this makes it so much easier to see your settings when you're recording.
Lastly, if you're more of an advanced user,
this camera gives you the ability to shoot in Canon Log 3,
otherwise known as C-Log 3.
And this is going to give you the most amount of flexibility in your post-production edits,
giving you the ability to color grade your footage.
To set this up, under Color Mode, set to Custom Picture.
Then in Custom Picture Settings, choose Canon Log 3-C Gamut as the gamma-slash-color space.
No matter your skill level, the Canon EOS R50V is a great video-focused camera for everybody.
