How To Draw a Christmas Tree

What's up everyone and welcome to the club! In today's video I'll show you how to draw a cartoon Christmas tree. Now for this lesson we'll start from the very top and work our way down towards the bottom. Let's start from the top with the star right in the middle. Let's start with a point. I'm going to curve this out and then down towards the left and right side. Let's work our way towards the side of the star bending this out and then down. It'll come down and then in towards the side. Let's add those two points along the bottom going out and then down and we'll pull this in and bend that up towards a center point. Now let's go to the side of our star along the bottom. I'm going to start with the left side going out round at the bottom and just pull that in and up towards the inside. Let's take that shape and flip it over on the right going out rounding out the bottom pulling that in and up. Now the tree is going to get wider as we come down. So we start from the bottom of this curve go out round at the bottom and just tuck this up and in go to the right do the exact same thing. Let's add another one starting from the bottom of this curve going out down and in. I'm going to add one more along the bottom and go out in and just pull that up. Let's connect the inside with one more curve going down the middle and we'll bend that up. Let's draw the base of the tree leaving a gap in the center. Start on the left draw one line move over towards the right draw that again. Now let's connect the bottom with a curve. Let's surround the base of the tree with an oval. We'll start on the left side go out cut in along the bottom back in on the right. From the side of our oval this angle is down and in towards the bottom and we'll round out the bottom. Let's add some tinsel across the tree. We start from these two points starting on the left we'll draw a series of curves going down towards the middle and we'll work our way up towards the top right. Let's go down and do the same thing along the bottom. Down in the middle up towards the right side and I'll do that one more time. Now you want to move up and draw the top of the tinsel. So we're going to step in I'm just going to curve in the opposite direction going up and then down working our way towards the right side. Now we're going to fill the inside of the tree with some ornaments. Let's start on the top left with a circle and you want to place these circles in random spots. I'm just going to work our way down just add a couple more along the bottom and now we're going to surround the outside of the tree with some lights. Let's start on the top left we're going to draw an oval going around and back in. Now you can change the direction of these ovals facing some up and some coming down and just work our way down towards the bottom of the tree and then over towards the right side. Now I'm going to add some more lights coming down from underneath the tinsel. So start on the left and draw in those ovals and work our way down and I'll add some lights on the top of the tinsel pointing up. Let's surround the base of the tree with an oval starting from the side of the pot on the left. We've got that oval going out across the middle and then up on the right side and then we'll sign our art and add a splash of color.
