Shine bright like a diamond
Hi, I'm Brad. I'm John. Gabriel. How's Reneast? Reneast? Reneast? Reneast!
Released another song. All right. It's not however a Christmas number. I thought, you know, this,
this close to Christmas, he'd, you know, drop a Christmas number. But apparently he's done all
the Christmas songs that you possibly can do. You know, he's covered Mariah Carey. We reacted to
that last year. And he's covered, you know, done Christmas carols, which actually, weirdly enough,
we did that last year as well. You know, we could have done them again. Because we did like 14 days
of O Holy Night or something like that. Oh, yeah.
His was one of the versions of that. I think there was another one, but it's been a while
since he's done a Christmas number. Anyway, Christmas was a year ago. So that makes sense.
That's no, I mean, as in, it's like been a couple of years since he's done a Christmas number.
Anywho, the song he's covering this time is called Diamonds.
Best friend. Yeah. Yeah. Diamonds in the sky too.
Yeah. Or as the one comedian likes to say, Diamonds.
For a minute. Anyway.
That was a comedian.
Yes, I'm quoting Ron White there. Anyway.
Diamonds is a song recorded originally by Rihanna, who's from Barbados. Didn't know that.
It randomly mentions it on Wikipedia when you look at the song. So go figure.
I don't think I need to know that bit. Neither do I.
I guess the more you know. Well, it mentions it insofar as, you know,
it's a song recorded by the Barbadian singer, which means from Barbados. Anyway, again,
is it necessary? Well, I guess it kind of is. You have enough things like ACDC.
They're Australian, don't you know? Yes, which was not able to be aired yesterday.
Oh, yes. We had our Mission Souls cover didn't air on YouTube yesterday.
Our reaction to it.
It will probably pop up in about 30 days time when ACDC actually releases it.
If it gets cleared, it'll pop up.
Yeah, it'll take 30 days. So, yeah.
So yesterday we didn't have a video.
Yeah. Sorry. Anyway, if you're watching on YouTube, if you're watching,
if you're watching on the other streaming platform, then possibly, you know, it was up there.
Anyway, so it's the lead single from her seventh album in 2012 called An Apologetic.
So it's a 2012 song called Diamonds. Apparently, it's a mid-tempo pop electronic and rhythm and
blues ballad. How you mix that pile together, I have no idea, but we're about to find out.
Yeah. Well, that's if he doesn't like that.
Well, true.
Well, we should check out and see how he does do it. Before we do,
make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
Check out the description down below. You're going to find all this information,
stuff that we have down there.
And I can't say I know the song because I don't know any of her music.
So this is probably going to be something that's been all over social media and he's
going to be kind of like, oh, that. Well, that's all. Yeah. Could be. Yeah. We shall find out.
I know. He's already staring at us. Gabriel Stair.
Shine bright like a diamond. Oh,
I like a diamond. Oh, beautiful. See, I choose to be happy.
You and I, you and I, we're like diamonds in the sky.
You're a shooting star. I see a vision of ecstasy when you hold me.
We're like diamonds in the sky. I knew that we'd become one right away.
Oh, I felt the energy of sunrise. I saw the light inside your eyes.
It pauses for you to write it like the first.
Yeah, I got the general impression that, yes, it's kind of like, oh,
is this used on social media? Barely. Does that work?
Everything else. He started out strong, like he usually builds.
Yeah. I wonder if he's going to really get to it.
Or alternatively, is this a song that starts out loud and
softens off towards the end? They do exist, weirdly enough.
You never seem to see people covering them, but they are out there.
Instantly, I've never heard this song before, because I don't pay that much attention to
social media. Yeah, well, I just, you know, when you're thumbing through.
No, I read and look at cat videos, which I then show to you.
I see him too. He's baby, he's warm, he's wobbly.
Anyway.
The first time I felt the energy of sunrise. I saw the light inside your eyes.
Tonight, you and I were beautiful like diamonds in the sky.
I drew a line, so I'll lie.
We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky. Shine bright like a diamond.
Shine bright like a diamond. We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky.
You're a shooting star, I see. A vision of ecstasy.
When you hold me, I'm like a diamond in the sky.
The first time I felt the energy of sunrise. I saw the light inside your eyes.
Tonight, you and I were beautiful like diamonds in the sky.
I drew a line, so I'll lie. We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky.
As it gets to that point, my brain goes, oh, this would have been a perfect song,
obviously, for him to have been backed up by the choir.
Since he's on the roof and everything.
Okay, it's night time still.
I'm sure the artistic effect here is those diamonds in the sky.
Now, when I referred to diamonds in the sky, I was referring to Lucy with diamonds in the sky.
There's a difference.
True.
And obviously, the natural thing of stars.
You live in the city, light pollution, no stars.
Use the city lights to be your stars.
But yeah, this would have been in a...
What was the name of the choir?
Back to Black Lightning.
Could have been.
Anyway, it would have been a really great...
Could have had the choir there backing him up.
Thinking back, there's probably a bunch of spots in the song that
you know, the choir could have come behind him as well.
Yeah, it was half of that.
Choirs and orchestras make songs better.
End of story.
Anyway.
Let's see how he gets those notes.
His whistles?
Yeah.
Whistles.
You just whistle along.
Except singing.
Probably.
That's right, I can't.
At the time, I can't whistle.
Gotta whistle the cats out.
That's true.
Sometimes.
Yeah.
Yeah, I didn't think we were actually going to get any, you know,
because half of them were at the beginning.
Yeah.
So I guess that's it for this song.
No, it's actually a good song for him.
Yeah, it was actually.
Yeah, like I said, I've never actually heard the song before.
So for me, it was a good song.
I've heard it, yeah.
The beginning.
Yeah.
Because social media and stuff.
It's obviously a thing on TikTok.
Use this song.
Done.
Well, yeah, because it's like you see one, whatever they're real shorts, whatever they're
called.
Tweets.
No, there's nothing.
You like watch one that has like a song, and then that's all you end up getting is.
It's like right now, well, actually, it's fading away.
And I know the song is linking right now.
It's where two people are back to back, and it's singing one way, and it's got the
modern version of it or something.
When the camera goes around to the other person or something, I don't know.
That was like every other thing.
It's like, OK, all right, move along.
Anyway, that had nothing to do with Gabriel, but we like to ramble.
So yeah, that was another great performance by him, like always.
And we're definitely going to continue hitting them up.
So if you want to see those, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
And also check out.
Oh, if you want to do anything nostalgia, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, but check out our new

And here at the end of the year, we're going to be having the memoriam of people we lost
this year.
That rewind and we just lost someone last night, actually today, too, after today.
Yes.
So unfortunately, the list for 2025 is going to be long.
So if you're interested in any of that, go check out.
It's linked up top.
It's linked in the bottom.
It's linked on our home page and also the music shorts that we're going to get back

which is Music Rewind.
So go check it all out.
