It turns out that the artisan group settled here which is about
800 years ago so it's because
there was material there after all
It is a place where many old kiln sites are scattered
from that time until the end of the Edo period
The original has many broken pieces scattered
around the shores and indeed those that have
lasted for centuries are now crumbling and rolling
around along with the thoughts of the creators
Look at the cross-section or the coloratio
Some items have become twisted or they might have been shaped by the power of
fire or they might still bear the
fingerprints of the craftsmen from that time
We also have a strong sense of gratitude for
them having continued it for about 800 years
When you come here it's as if you can feel the
breath and thoughts of the people who created it not just something old
but something that has
been connected all along It's a precious place
Passion I suppose for pottery
Putting the reality and passion of
one's life into the craft of pottery
That might be the kind of attitude that has been passed down
