Tenere 700 trip to Magadan
Hello to everyone! I'm back in the bike post in Rostov after I've been two days on Krim Peninsula.
But today what I have done was very interesting and I really wanted to show you this footage,
but unfortunately the microphone in my camera stopped working. I actually crossed the whole
Mariupol from one side to another with a running camera explaining everything on the road.
But when I finished finally I checked and the audio was not there. Anyway it was a
really really rare footage and I was believing that I will be the first
moto traveler who is going to show you Mariupol, but I'm going to show you later when I make
detailed video series, when I have to add my voice on the top to explain everything that I saw.
Anyway I will tell you briefly with a few words how today went. So the first day I was on the
south coast and now on the second day I decided to go to
Melitopol, Mariupol, use this road and come back here into Rostov. And I've been told that the
road is very bad, a lot of potholes, it's very slow, a lot of dust, a lot of military convoy
vehicles out of checkpoints and stuff like that. But I realized that the road is brand new,
500 kilometers brand new asphalt. Yes there were some checkpoints on the enters of the
towns or villages, but they basically don't stop you, just let you go. Also petrol stations
everywhere, the price of the petrol was a little bit expensive, but no problem whatsoever to travel.
And finally when I reached Mariupol, again checkpoint, and then I went in, brand new asphalt.
And it is not what I had been told. It was ruins one year ago, now I will say 50 percent of the
town is rebuilt. Brand new apartments everywhere, left, right, big huge complexes, playgrounds,
kindergartens, hospitals, everything, boulevards, green, blin, it was just a fantastic, I couldn't
believe what I've seen. This is like I said 50 percent of the town was just rebuilt. Of course
the rest of the town's 50 percent, you can still see these ruins everywhere. It looks like Berlin
in 1945, a lot of put down buildings and you can see potholes from the bullets and burn
all floors and stuff like that. But everywhere, everywhere around the town, there were diggers,
cranes, construction workers, trucks, they're working on it, working very hard on it. I couldn't
believe what I saw. And finally I went to Azovstal, this big huge factory, it's like a big town,
huge, and they work on it as well. They make a new bridge and all of this was in the video.
With my comment and my surprise to see all of this, because I've been told that there is nothing,
there is only army, everything is ruins, but no, it's a new town. When I cross the city center,
people are walking around doing their normal daily job, buses, taxis, markets, everything works,
everything. So yeah, I really wanted to show you this, but it will be when I edit the detailed
video series. Anyway, now from here, my trip is only north, in the next 2-3 days I will reach
Moscow, after Moscow I'll go to St. Petersburg, and after St. Petersburg I'll go to Finland,
Estonia, Latvia, as I told you I'll spend two days in Latvia on this event
Alduro, and after that I will slowly move direction Bulgaria. Anyway, this was everything
that I wanted to tell you now. The idea was different, I really wanted to show you
Mariupol, but it will be another time. By the way, on my Telegram account I will make some
screenshots from the video that I've got and I'll upload it there if you want to see just
a few shots here and there how the city looks like. All right, see you in the next one. Ciao!
