I got stuck in that loop of failing almost every single goal that I set for myself for years.
There's a reason that only 8% of people actually keep their New Year's resolutions.
It's because they're setting random goals instead of actually using systems.
So if that's you, I want to show you some systems that I just
straight up stole from a bunch of people.
And I've achieved literally almost every single goal since I started using this.
So if that's you, please watch this.
I'm at the end of this video.
If you actually follow this stuff, you will hit your next goal.
It's like almost you won't be able to help it.
I know this seems like a big claim, but I didn't make this stuff up.
It's just like science.
It works.
Like I look at the last page of my goals that I set last year,
and I hit every single one of them, which is super cool.
Of course, I only have three goals, but hit them.
First thing to do is don't set a goal yet, okay?
Hold on.
Let me get my red book.
Like I said, I just stole this from a bunch of people who are much smarter than me.
We want to start off with a version of Dreamlining,
which I stole from the four-hour work week.
So if you're thinking about some goals, instead of asking yourself,
what are my goals?
What do I want to have?
Ask yourself, what would excite you?
So instead of having this goal of like, oh, I want to be a millionaire.
Well, why do you want to be a millionaire?
Like you don't want to just have a nicer house and a nicer car,
and then technically you're a millionaire,
or you have a bunch of stocks somewhere,
and technically you're a millionaire, but it doesn't change your life at all, right?
Like what would be the point of that?
That's stupid.
So what is it that you actually want out of that?
What are the activities that you want to do?
Actually, take some time and think this out.
Maybe you want to travel.
You want to live in Bali for three months.
Wouldn't that be epic?
Well, that would be like an incredibly easy goal
that almost every person could hit within a year.
Probably you can be able to just travel the world full-time within a year
if you use some of these systems.
But what are the things that you want to do?
Then you want to pick a timeline, either a six-month or a 12-month.
What were some things that you would like to have,
you would like to be by that time?
Do you want to be a great chef?
Well, we're going to break that down a little bit,
and that might mean cooking Christmas dinner.
Do you want a new car?
Do you want to travel?
Do you want to go to some country?
And the goal here is to create something that is actually exciting enough
to give you some motivation to do it.
You don't want to pick something too easy.
You want to pick something that's like,
yeah, it's a reason to get out of bed in the morning, right?
If you're having problems coming up with what that would be for you,
just take some time and think about
what would your ideal circumstances not look like?
This would be kind of like fear-setting.
What would be something that would just be terrible?
For me, this is a huge, huge motivator,
and I love to have these whys tied behind all of my goals.
This is my sheet from doing this a little bit ago.
But a couple of my whys are having time with my kids
to never have to worry about ever missing a game ever.
That's a strong motivator for me to do hard things.
Another one is this pain, this fear of being in the same place
looking six months from now.
If I'm doing the exact same thing I'm doing now,
maybe for you, if you're stuck at the same job that you hate
in a relationship that you're not happy with,
you're not in shape, you're not excited about life,
you're just dreading every single day,
and you do nothing different for the next six months,
it is going to be the same or worse, guaranteed.
If that doesn't scare you, then I don't know,
it scares me a lot.
And so you need to find some of these things
of either the dream that you would like
or the pain of staying where you are.
And if you don't have either of those,
the rest of this video and goal-setting thing
is just not going to work
because you need to have a reason
to make real change in your life,
whether it's the fear or the reward.
So that is going to be your why.
Then I like to pick three big, unrealistic goals.
I'm actually going to pop out a new journal for this
because I'm actually doing this myself right now.
I use this thing, it's called a finisher's journal.
I think I'm on my 15th one of these.
I used it every day for the past three or four years.
You can use a piece of paper, anything you want,
but like this is the exact system
kind of taken from some of these places
that I took it from like the 12-week year and stuff.
And by doing this kind of system,
whether you use a journal or not,
like I've literally gotten more done in 12 weeks
than I have in an entire year
and really made a lot of progress
because I use this system.
You want to clearly define some of those outcome goals.
So for instance, if you wanted to travel
for three months in Bali,
well, you can actually break down
what that would look like in order to get there, right?
You could say, okay, well, to do that,
I either need to work remotely
or I need to have enough money to do that
and then come back and get a job, right?
Okay, well, how much money do you need?
Well, to live in Bali, it's roughly $1,000 a month,
pretty cheap overall.
So you only need about $3,000 to do that
plus flights and all that type of stuff,
let's say $4,000.
Okay, so now if you can earn $1,500 a month,
you could just leave and never come back.
Okay, how do you earn $1,500 a month online from a laptop?
Not that hard at all.
I've done it twice in the past year
starting new YouTube channels
and that's just like the one thing that I know personally
and there's like a bunch of ways to do that, right?
So it's not incredibly hard to set your dream,
crazy, unrealistic goal.
If you break it down into smaller
and smaller and smaller steps,
it's like crazy to think
that you wouldn't have it
if you actually focused on it every single day.
You did real action every single day
for 90 days for six months.
It's insane to think that you wouldn't make progress.
You literally can't help but do it with this.
I don't know, I'm really passionate about this.
It's really helped me.
So in this journal,
there's gonna be three outcome goals
right on the top here
and then we're gonna have action steps underneath it.
Again, you can just use a piece of paper,
that's totally fine
but I'm gonna choose one goal
that I wanna accomplish within the next 90 days.
I'm gonna do health, wealth
and purpose for my three criterias.
Yours might be different
but those are things that I really wanna focus on right now
and I just wanna have one thing to focus on
towards each one of those
because if I have three things on wealth
and nothing on the rest,
then most likely I'm gonna suffer in those areas
and I wanna find a little bit of balance
while still making a lot of progress
towards things that would actually excite me.
So one of my goals for last year
was to post two videos a week
and I ended up doing that on two separate channels
but this year,
I would like to post two videos a week on this channel
so I can get to a million subscribers
because I think that would be really cool.
So I need 285,000 subscribers this year,
divide that by four.
So I need 71,000 subscribers in the next 90 days,
please help me.
And so in the past 90 days,
I have gained 30,000 subscribers
but I've only posted pretty much once a week.
So ideally, there'd be some compound effects
and if I post twice a week,
we would be on the correct schedule to get to the goal.
So breaking that down,
I need to do twice a week
and then I can set daily goals after that
and then if I just post twice a week,
ideally, I would be at a million subscribers
by the end of the year
and so I can have something that would be really cool
that would excite me
because it seems unrealistic and kind of crazy
but now by doing that,
I know the action steps in order to get there
and because of other systems that I run,
this should technically only take about 10 hours a week
because each video takes about five hours
so 10 hours a week
should be able to get to a million subscribers
by the end of the year
and still hit all my other goals that I want to hit,
which is super cool.
So I'll just write all this down.
Another cool thing they have in this journal
is like habit tracker.
So if there's one habit that you really want to stick to,
I generally like to just pick one habit
that I work on for roughly 90 days
because it's hard for me to set multiple habits
at the same time.
So just one habit can really work
and then you can just kind of keep track of it here
or wherever else you can make your own boxes
but it seems like a pain.
By the way, I have actually started working with finishers
because I've been using them for so long.
So there's like an exclusive discount down below
and also helps support the channel
and saves you money
and literally changed my life
and quite a few other people have used this
and said that it's really helped them.
So if a tool like this can actually help you change your life
for the price of going out to dinner,
it's insane not to try it, you know?
Or just use a piece of paper
but like anytime you can invest a little bit of money
to literally change your life,
crazy not to do it.
It's the best investment you can make
is into yourself and into your brain
and into, you know, your happiness like that.
So now that we have all that,
I'm gonna go into weekly plans, right?
Because now we have the overall goal
that we're trying to go to.
By the end of the year, we want a million subscribers.
To break that down, 90 days, we need 71K
which means we need to post twice a week.
In order to get there,
you can do the same thing with anything else.
This means if you want to have abs by the end of the year,
how much weight do you have to lose?
Okay, how many calories do you need to do
in order to lose that?
How much do you need to lose at a time?
How many times would you go to the gym each week
in order to get to the body that you want
by the end of the year?
If you follow all those,
it's stupid to think that you wouldn't be in way better shape.
And this is just reverse engineering
and then 15 minutes a day.
Tiny steps in order to get there.
Next up here, we have your main priority.
This is each week should have one thing
that if you get this done,
you will feel like your week is a success.
For me, posting two videos.
If it was a fitness goal,
it's going to the gym three times in a week.
If I get that done, my week will be a success
or the amount of calories or whatever.
And then we have some secondary tasks
where if these get done, that's awesome,
but they don't need to get done
as much as the main thing needs to get done
to get you to where you want to go to.
And so a lot of people have multiple priorities
and I can just say like priorities
didn't exist as a word until recently.
Like you have one priority.
The main thing is to keep the main thing, the main thing.
If you have multiple main things,
they're no longer the main thing.
That make any sense to anybody?
I think it did.
So each week, make a plan
on how you're going to get one step closer to that.
We're doing this in 90 day segments
for a reason because it's short enough
that you can make a decent amount of progress,
but it's not so long that you can be like,
oh, I got to get there by the end of the year,
but I'll just work really hard later.
You need to break down the steps
from the year into the 90s
and then the 90s into the weeks
and then the weeks into days.
And then the days just stack on each other
and then you stack the weeks.
And now like a month from now, you're like,
man, I got a lot done in the past month
just by doing this like 15 minutes a day type thing.
So anyways, I write out my one week plan
of exactly what I want to get done
that I just talked about.
And then I'll break that into daily,
where again, I'm going to have one primary task
and have some secondary tasks
and then some other stuff that I need to get done ideally.
But I'm not tracking absolutely everything
I ever have to get done
because you could have a lot more stuff.
This is the stuff that if I get them done,
my life gets marketably better
and I get closer to dream life.
And this is literally how I was able
to leave my job at 24,
how I was able to get this beautiful house
and chickens and have time with my family
and have my wife not have to work,
be able to travel as much as I want to.
It is because of small things done consistently
towards a very specific goal.
And it wasn't like overnight,
it took like three years or five years
of doing this exact system
over and over every single day.
But if you stack real progress
towards real goals every day,
like crazy crap starts happening.
You could go as hard as you want for the next month,
nothing's going to happen.
If you do that for two years, I don't know.
So while all this is good,
there's a couple more things that you want to do
besides just the tracking here.
But also you want to surround yourself
with like-minded people.
You want to really curate your inputs
because that is going to change everything.
If you want to get in shape for the next 90 days,
if one of your goals is,
you know, lose 20 pounds or whatever,
you need to watch YouTubers
who are talking about how to lose weight, right?
You need to read books about that.
You need to have friends
who are into that type of thing,
who are encouraging you on your journey
and not like saying,
hey, let's go grab pizza.
If you surround yourself by people
who this is normal for them
to better themselves in this way,
if all the content you consume
is like motivating you
and encouraging you to get that,
giving you the knowledge,
the steps that you need to do that,
you're way more likely to make that happen, right?
Same thing with finances.
You want to change your finances drastically,
read the four-hour work week,
watch my channel,
watch other people's channels,
listen to podcasts.
If you surround yourself with inputs
of all people on the same journey,
you see like that person got freedom,
that person got freedom,
that person built a 10K a month business,
that person did this,
that person did that,
and that, and you're like,
oh, why can't I do that?
All those normal,
totally random people did that.
Even this like right here,
it looks professional.
I just want to show you something, okay?
This is my room right now.
I'm just a very normal person.
My daughter has a blanket here
that's stretching out.
It's also helping with noise.
I got this new 2026 calendar
that I haven't gotten to put up on the wall yet.
These are all my papers and notes
all over the place here.
Like I'm not some like robot.
I'm just a normal human being.
Every other person that you meet,
that you look up to,
that whatever,
they're all normal people.
Like why couldn't it be you?
It's literally the only difference
between them and you
is they took actionable steps
towards a very specific outcome
for a long period of time.
That's literally all successes.
It's just like, don't give up.
Pick something unreasonable.
Shoot for it for five years.
Don't give up.
Take steps every single day to get there.
That's all successes.
Another thing that I am doing personally,
and I really suggest
that you experiment with it as well
if you're not happy
where you are in your life right now,
is cutting out social media,
especially short form content.
I have realized that it's
the number one hindrance
towards me hitting any goal
that I want to hit
is short form content.
It kind of gives you
this false sense of dopamine.
Each short that you watch
is like an emotion, right?
It can be positive, negative, interest.
It's going to be motivational,
whatever it is.
But mostly you won't remember
a single short that you watched
or Instagram Reel or TikTok,
even if you just watched like 50 of them.
And when you need dopamine,
you can get it in a few seconds
by doing that
as opposed to having to work for it
by going to the gym,
by making a successful offer,
by making a YouTube video,
whatever it is.
You have to work in order
to get that dopamine
as opposed to just instantly getting it.
And then you also are training yourself
not to have the regular emotions
that we're meant to have.
And so if you are unhappy with your life,
you keep trying to reset
and you can't do it,
curate the inputs to positive things
and shut out the negative
and also short form stuff.
This is, again, everybody's different.
But for me personally,
there's been very few seasons
where I've consumed
a decent amount of short form content
and I've been successful
in any goal that I'm chasing.
It's a very strong correlation
for me and most people.
In fact, when I was at my peak
of making a lot of success,
leaving my day job at 24,
all that type of stuff,
I cut out all social media whatsoever.
YouTube, TikTok, Instagram.
TikTok wasn't around back then.
But like all of that,
I cut out video games,
I cut out TV,
I cut out everything
besides podcasts and audiobooks.
That was all I did.
And three or four years of doing that
literally was all it took for me
to have freedom for the rest of my life.
Taking all the noise away,
focusing all my energy
on important things,
life totally changed.
So like if there's one thing
that you're doing
that like if I just stop
doing this one thing,
I know my life would be better.
Something that you know you should do,
but you're not doing for some reason.
If you cut that thing out
and it's probably your phone,
that will make the likelihood
of you having your dream life,
the things that will make you happy,
the stuff that like,
wouldn't it be cool if I could travel,
if I could be home with my kids,
if I had a job that I could work
for my laptop,
if I was a successful YouTuber,
whatever it is.
If I was the best chef,
if my house was totally clean,
whatever that is, right?
The main thing,
if you really want that,
you need to figure out
what the cost is.
Every outcome that you want
is going to have a cost.
If you want to be great at pickleball,
it's going to take 100 hours,
whatever it is.
There's a dedicated amount of work
that goes into getting you
to that place where you want to be.
If you want to be
a successful YouTuber,
it's probably going to take 50 videos.
That is the time that it's going to take
for you to learn the skills.
If you want to become good at piano,
you're going to need to practice
this song 40 times.
If you want to be anything
that you want,
will have a cost.
And if you're not willing
to pay the cost,
stop complaining about
not having the thing.
Everything just has a cost in life.
It has a cost of focus,
a cost of I stopped watching Instagram
and I took two hours a day
and I started making content instead.
And that was the cost
shifting from input to output
for a long time, for years.
And now I don't know
what's going on with the Kardashians,
but I now have this business.
That is the cost.
Everything's going to have a cost
and different things have different costs.
The cost of making 10K a month
is very different than the cost
of making 100K a month
is very different than the cost
of making a million a month.
And I literally know people
who have done all of those.
And generally, it's like less
and less of a cost as you go up.
But the threshold to get
from like zero to one
is really, really hard
for a lot of people.
And so that's where you have to realize,
like, am I willing to put in the work
to get these things
that would make my life
the dream life that I want?
And if not, just like be OK
with being wherever
you're at right now.
It's OK.
But if you want to be in the top 1%,
you want to have abs, a great home
and, you know, have your partner,
not have to worry about money,
be able to pay off
your parents' mortgage
and travel the world.
You can have all of those things,
but not if you don't do
all the actions for multiple years
that it would take
in order to get there.
So count the cost and just ask
if you're willing to pay
what it would take to get there.
And if not, just like forget
about the goals, scrap it, whatever.
But like you're not
just going to magically have abs.
You have to diet and exercise.
And so those are the costs
to get the abs.
So do you really want abs?
Because if you're not willing
to diet and exercise,
you don't really want the abs, right?
It's not exciting enough.
I don't know.
I feel like I'm kind of
getting off the rails here.
But that's my exact plan
that has changed my life.
Hopefully it can change yours.
If YouTube's one of the things
that you want to do,
I know it's one of the top jobs
that younger people
are interested in these days.
I have built two brand new channels
in the past two years
that would cover my entire lifestyle
from scratch
because of other proven methods.
And that is something that I teach
in the 5-Hour YouTuber
currently closed.
But I'm going to be doing
another cohort in a couple of months.
So if you want to join the wait list,
we do have limited spots in there.
And much like this stuff,
it's all like proven systems.
It's not guesswork.
It's not like wishing to do stuff.
It's like picking what you want,
actual steps to get there,
and then more or less proven results.
So again,
if you're interested in joining that,
there's a wait list down below.
If you want to change your life
for just a couple bucks,
check out a journal.
I love these things.
And thanks for watching.
