Good morning YouTube!
Hi guys, welcome back
and today we are making
Rosehip oil
Yes, beautiful skin loving
rosehip oil
Some may say it's the oil version
of Fountain of Youth
Yes, and also it's good for your beard
isn't it? It's good for your beard, for your hair
for anti-aging, for anti-wrinkling
Yeah, yeah
All these things. Also super expensive
to buy. It's super expensive
but mega easy
to make. Mega easy
and cheap to make
So come with us and we'll show you how to make it
You will need
some lovely foraged rosehips
that can be found just about in any hedgerow
in the United Kingdom at the moment
Main ingredient
Rosehips
Second main ingredient
you will need a carrier oil
We're using sweet almond oil
This is sweet almond oil
and it's cheap but
really good for you and it's packed full of what's it
Vitamin E
which is great for your skin
and it smells nice too
First thing you will need to do
is you may notice
that rosehips are really hard
and they get softer
as the weather gets colder
I'm squeezing it, I'm squeezing it
and it's rock solid
and so many recipes say about crushing
them up like this
and that's a lot of hard work that you don't need to do
You need a hammer. They're that hard
So you don't want to be squashing these up like that
We're going to give you our secret tip
so don't tell anyone about it
What you do is when you get your rosehips home
you freeze them
and that fakes a massive
frost for the rosehips
and then after you've frozen them
you run them under warm water
and they become soft as butter so they smush up
super easy
We just run them under the hot water
until they're lovely and soft
and easy to work with
We're all about
easy peasy around here
So now
they're all soft and defrosted
Look here's mine
This one hasn't been frozen
It's squishing
You can see all the stuff coming out
at the end
It's so easy
There we go
That is what we want
That makes life so much easier
So now put all your rosehips in your container
and squish
them up as much as you can
The goal is to just
try and crack each one of them
and squish each one
Squish them up
so then we can get all them seeds
to infuse with the oil easier
Once you've got them
all crunched up as much as you can
then it's time
to add the oil
Alright so
we have one part rosehips
to two parts oil
So we measured out one mug
of rosehips earlier
and now I'm going to put two mugs
of oil
in our pot
So this almond oil
is full of vitamin E
which is lovely for your skin
makes it really soft
and smooth, moisturising
There we go
So if you're like me
then you're easily confused
Two parts oil
to one part rosehips
It's very simple
So if you have one cup of rosehips
you add two cups of oil
If you have half a cup of rosehips
you add one whole cup
of oil
So this is going to
be our beautiful rosehip oil
and there's two ways you can cook it
depending on what devices you have
If you have an oven
put it in your pot
pop it in the oven
BOSH!
On the lowest heat
for four to eight hours
but today
we're going to use our slow cooker
we're going to put it
in the slow cooker
on low
for four to eight hours
and by four to eight hours
I mean
minimum four
maximum eight
and then all the goodness
from the rosehips is going to infuse with that oil
as it slowly bubbles
and you get all the seeds goodness
in the oil
make sure you get all them seeds in there
full of all that goodness
So now
the rosehip oil is cooking away
so we thought we'd tell you
why you should be using it
It's full of omegas 3, 6 and 9
It's super moisturising
and it is
full of vitamins A
and C which are great for your skin
It actually protects
from the sun rays
and it's really good at reducing inflammation
so at the moment
my tummy is a little bit sore
from the sprucing
so I've been rubbing it on my tummy
and helping with the stretch marks
and the scarring
It really actually does, science proven
reduce wrinkles, reduce scarring
and it's in all the stretch marks creams
and all that isn't it
It's going to turn me back into a beautiful rose
So if you want to look as youthful as this guy
Let me get this guy's skin
If you want skin like this little dude
then you need to get some
of that bubbling on the stove
Guys
we can see this is
done, look how rich
it's gone, such a nice
dark colour now and it smells amazing
It's been bubbling away
in our slow cooker for
just over 4 hours
and it smells lovely
So the final step
you've just got to strain it out
so get a bit of cough, any cough
you've got a bandana, I've got a bandana
scoop it out
strain it through
so we just get all that rich
rose hip seed oil
and repeat that
until you've got
all that oil
Now look
at that
in the shop, cost you a fortune
and it's cost us the price of
almond oil which was £6.99
for 1 litre
so, bless you
there it is
anti-ageing
magic
and it makes an amazing
gift you can make from nature
if you're looking for a present to make for someone
just muck up some bottles
of this
and they
they will love it
voila
on the left is the sweet almond oil
before
and on the right is now the rose hip oil
so this
did look like this
after the cooking process
you can see the difference
look at that
dun dun dun
so ladies you probably know
you just use a couple of little drops
tiny tiny amount on your skin
or a little bit in your bath
it smells amazing
and makes you super soft
and lovely
it has so many uses in the world
we'll include some more information in the description
if you're interested in reading
more about the vitamins and minerals
that it maintains
as always
if you have any questions
just ask in the comments
we're happy to answer
and let us know if you make some yourself
get out there and collect some rose hips
they're everywhere at the moment
just the right time of year to be doing it
it's good, fun, gets you out in the fresh air
and it gets you an amazing oil
so there's no reason
not to get out there and enjoy some rose hip oil
like, comment and subscribe

we'll see you again soon
peace
