On Saturday, Arsenal secured their place at the top of the Premier League tree for Christmas.
Tonight, they turned their focus to wrapping up a Carabao Cup semi-final spot.
Crystal Palace are the visitors, just as they were at this stage of last season's competition.
A Gabriel Jesus hat-trick was enough to see Arsenal through to the Final Four a year ago.
But Palace have experienced domestic cup glory since then,
and will be motivated to take one step closer to making more Wembley memories in the new year.
Just three players retain their place from the weekend's win at Everton,
as Mikel Arteta makes wholesale changes to his side.
Gabriel Jesus is the headline, racking up his 100th Arsenal appearance with his first start since January.
Gabriel Martinelli, Nonu Madueke and Abere Ezer also come into the front line.
The latter scored the winner against his former club here back in October.
Meanwhile, it's just three changes for the Palace side that lost 4-1 to Leeds United at the weekend.
Benitez is preferred to Henderson in goal, while Cagno and Lerma also come into the side.
Jean-Philippe Mateta shrugged off a knock to retain his place, alongside former gunner Eddie Nketiah up front.
Ismail Assar, Daniel Munoz and Daichi Komada all started here in October,
but are not available to Oliver Glasner today.
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have won seven of their last eight meetings with Crystal Palace in all competitions.
The side he's done very well against, and they've started well with Madueke,
whose shot bursts through the centre of the Palace defence,
and he'll be disappointed with that finish.
He's gone straight at Benitez.
In from Ezer, flicked on at the near post,
and then pushed away.
Only out as far as Martinelli, who got a lot of slice on that shot,
and it will go out for a goal kick.
It looked like the corner was a little bit low at first,
but Arsenal made the most of it.
Got a flick on at the near,
and then there's claims for a handball in there.
Martinelli with the wild shot at the end.
It is worth pointing out, while we do continue to get these replays,
it is much more of a purist's evening, this one.
The AR not in use tonight.
There he is now, trying to combine with Martinelli on the edge of the penalty area.
Arsenal are in behind with Madueke,
and Palace have a knock back to deal with the danger.
It's a little lob over the top.
It's a decent first touch by Madueke,
but he's just too close to Benitez.
Jesus was looking for the overhead kick, wasn't he?
But it was Canvo, who'd just come in with the interception.
Martinelli, floating one in dangerously for Jesus,
and it was kept out again.
Last-ditch defending by Crystal Palace.
Arsenal's best chance yet.
I've got to say, Max, that is a fantastic save.
Benitez down to his left.
Oh, and it was fired just over by Riccardo Calafiori,
who got underneath that one.
Down quite kindly to the Italian.
You can see he's not happy.
He thinks he should have done better.
Back it comes to Martinelli.
Four players forwards in the middle.
One of them is Madueke, who can take a touch.
Saved again by Walter Benitez.
What an individual battle that is turning out to be.
He had a little time to take a touch, and what a touch it was.
Lovely play from Martinelli, putting in Skelly.
He clips it to the far.
Madueke tries to wait for his opportunity
and picks a hole between the Palace defenders.
Look at that.
Straight at the keeper.
It's Martinelli. Lees Cambeau behind him.
Oh, and the header over by Jury and Timber.
Well, someone call the fire service
because he is absolutely tearing up this wing, Martinelli.
He's on fire at the moment.
Lovely ball in as well.
Timber so disappointed.
He's left Cambeau on his backside.
That defender is having absolutely torrid time.
It's Adam Wharton.
Sends it whistling wide off that bottom corner.
He's still waiting for his first goal in Palace colours.
He won't come much closer than that.
Lerner's throwing. He's giant.
It's gone almost all the way through and it was troubling Kepa.
An awkward bounce just in front of the Spaniards.
I think he can actually leave that to go in, can't he, as well?
If he's that close to the line, although he was under pressure from Gueye.
Erdegaard elects to find Luis Skelly.
Klasner desperately wants support out wide
as Erdegaard can send it in towards Jesus,
whose header this time doesn't work. Benitez.
I'll tell you what, he's done well with that delivery, Jesus.
He's generated a lot of power.
It wasn't perfect for the Arsenal forward and he's under pressure.
He almost works it round the corner.
Away goes Jesus, who's in behind.
He can go for goal, as well, but he was always off balance.
The ball was always rising.
Closely guarded by Lacroix, who makes a lot of ground up on him.
Hulgaard sliding in.
Palace benefits and it's Mateta inside the penalty area.
What an excellently time-sliding challenge that was by William Saliba.
That's incredible. He tackles between the keeper and Mateta.
His timing has got to be spot-on.
Pikaiosakis with the corner towards Calafiore.
And it eventually makes its way into the back of the net.
An Arsenal lead in the quarter-final.
They've had to be patient and bide their time.
But finally, there is a gap and the Gunners are able to exploit it.
It's an own goal by the Palace defender, Maxence Lacroix.
Off goes Jurrien Timber.
The most advanced player for Arsenal has managed to win it back high up the pitch.
Walter Benitez again spares the blushes of his captain, Mark Gay.
It's not often you see Gay get his feathers ruffled, but Timber was all over him.
Really, Gay should have just cleared it.
But he doesn't want to put it out for a corner. He can't give it back to his keeper.
He almost gifts it to Timber.
Into the fifth minute added on as the ball is whipped in.
And touchdown!
Palace equalise in the fifth minute of stoppage time here.
They're back on level terms.
First test for the Croats in defence.
Onto his favoured left foot it goes.
Rice is in there!
And Benitez again.
What a last line of defence he has been.
And that is the last bit of action of the 90 minutes.
It will go to penalties.
Arsenal felt as though they had it wrapped up.
Urgad against Benitez.
Hashimi!
And into the back of the net.
Kicmoteta!
And it was ever so casual.
Rice steps up and thumps it in.
Dubene sends Kepa the wrong way.
And Saka scores.
Looking to make it 3-0.
Does make it 3-0.
Leandro Trosa.
Beautifully done.
4-0 now.
Up steps the Spaniards.
We've had 10 perfect penalties.
6-5 to the Gunners.
Wharton.
Timber steps up.
And Timber slams home.
Now he angles.
Uche slots it in.
William Saliba.
Delays and just strokes it home.
And saved by Kepa!
Who schedules a Carabao Cup semi-final date with Chelsea.
A two-legged London derby awaits the Gunners in the new year.
And Arsenal win this game by 8 penalties to 7 in the shootout.
Kepa is the hero.
