MT4 Overview

once you've installed mt4 and open it for the first time the default page looks something similar to this on the top left on the title bar you can see your account information your broker mt4 trading platform the type of account you have and the current pair and time frame selected in the chart window below that you have your standard drop- down text based inter interface where you can find all the different options for navigating through the mt4 platform if you have any questions go to the help section under help topics to bring up the mt4 user guide where you can find information on all sorts of things for mt4 below that you have the standard toolbars by default many of the tools here are repeat s that are available in the text based drop down menu bar as you can see most of the screen real estate is dedicated toward chart data each chart has its own title bar and you can see this chart here is for dollar Swiss on the 1H hour time frame this chart is for pound doll on The Daily time frame this is for dollar Yen on the weekly and and this is for Euro doll on the 15 minute on the left side you can see the market watch window the market watch window here displays all of the available uh currencies for trading by your broker as well as the current bid and ask price another important part of the market watch window is your broker time and that's located up here as well below that you have the Navigator window in the Navigator window you can find your account information the default indicators available the uh expert advisors which are the trading Bots as well as custom indicators available and actionable scripts below that we have the terminal window in the terminal window the trade tab shows current trades that you have on at the very moment as well as your account balance your equity and margin available in the accounts history tab you can find all the previous trades that you've taken in the news tab you have highlights piped in from your broker and in the alerts tab you can set alerts based on price action in the charts in mailbox section you find uh emails sent from your broker and in the journal section you have specific uh account information and the time that uh that took place on the bottom you have the mt4 footer and on the in the far right you can see your connection status right now uh I have uh data flowing if I click on this it shows me what server I'm connected to and it also has the uh login and uh rescan servers options so that about wraps it up for the mt4 uh overview uh and don't forget if you have any questions go up to the help section help topics and bring up the user guide
