For this trick, you'll have to start
with some arts and crafts and just draw
out numbers 1 through 10 on a piece of
paper or cardboard like I'm using. You
can even do this on a tablecloth.
Doesn't have to be anything fancy. And
you'll need a deck of cards. Now, this
is not just any deck of cards. It looks
like a regular deck, but I actually have
some fancy cards in the end. And now,
you don't have to have this either. You
could use regular cards for this, but I
kind of like uh using the symbols. I
think it's kind of fun. What I'm going
to do is it's kind of like an ESP sort
of trick where I'm going to try to get
into the mind of the spectator. So, I
have all these random shapes and I'm
going to make them think of the number
and the shape that I want them to think
of. Right? So, now you're not here, so I
can't do this to you. So, I'll just use
a pair of dice and I'll just show you
first. These are not loaded dice or
anything. If I roll them, I get
different numbers every time. So,
regular pair of dice. What I'll do is
I'll roll these to pick one of these
numbers and whatever number I roll, I'll
keep. Now, obviously with a pair of
dice, you can't roll a one. Um, but also
there's an 11 and a 12. So, if I roll an
11, I'll count that as a one. And if I
roll a 12, I'll just reroll. All right.
So, we have these cards. We'd have the
spectator pick a number. So, in this
case, they got nine. So, the number nine
is going to be the number that we use.
So, I'm going to take the cards now, and
I'm just going to start dealing them one
at a time. Number one in order. Two,
three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
nine, and 10. Now, they could have
picked any number, but they picked
number nine. And I knew they were going
to pick number nine. And how do I know
that? Well, how can I prove it is
because all these cards are red. Every
single card in this deck is red except
for number nine. So, you might have
figured out already this is a multiple
out trick. But it's pretty clever the
way it's done. There are so many outs,
but they're not obvious. I mean, there's
nothing else on this table, right? The
dice would even be part of this trick,
right? The person would be here. You'd
be talking directly to them, and
whatever number they pick is the number
that you're going to go with. So,
there's no like forcing or tricks like
that. What we do have is a way to answer
any number they pick, right? So, first
of all, we have 10 numbers here, but
you'll see they're split into five and
five. So, depending on which way I deal
these cards, these 10 cards, I can
choose which five they're going to pick.
They can only get one of these first
five symbols. So, 1 2 3 4 5. The rest of
these don't matter. They're just here
kind of to to make it seem like it's
harder than it is. So, if you picked one
through five, any of those numbers, I
would just start dealing right off the
face. So, I'd go one, two, three, four,
five. Now, if two was the number you
picked, well, two is the card that's
blue, so I've already got it done. So,
if it's two or if it's nine, either way,
it's going to be this card. So, how
would I get it to nine? How did I get it
to nine? Well, you got to keep your
cards in the same order. If you flip
them upside down, and then you start
dealing them, flipping them over, you're
going to start with one, two, three, and
so on. And when you get over here,
that's going to be number nine. Now, the
only tricky part about number nine is
that it is a blue card. So, when you get
there, you're going to have to kind of
hide that as you're flipping them. So,
what I did is six, seven. When I get to
eight, I kind of roll my hand back so
they can't see the front of the card.
And I say eight,
nine, and 10. So, they didn't see it.
The reveal wasn't there at the time.
But, if they pick number two, then it's
much easier cuz it's just the second
card. So, either way, I have the cards
face down. I pick them up. If I If they
pick one through five, I just flip them
face up and start dealing them. 1 2 3.
And now this card is already there. All
right. So, that's the one you saw. What
about all the other numbers? Well, they
kind of go together. So one goes with
10, two goes with nine, three goes with
eight, four goes with seven, and five
goes with six. Meaning that if they pick
any of these numbers, you just figure
out the correlating number on the other
side, and that's which card you're going
to give them. If it's any of these
numbers, you start with the cards face
down and deal them. If they pick any of
these numbers, you start with the cards
face up and start dealing them. What if
they had picked number one or number 10?
Well, you deal that. It' be a square.
And the answer is right here underneath
the cards. Underneath the box, on the
back of the box, I wrote, "You will pick
the square." It's a multiple out trick.
They've never seen the back of these
cards. So, they don't know that one of
these cards is blue, and they just won't
tell them that. I'll just give them the
square. If they pick two or nine,
obviously, you already know the out for
that one. It's the blue card. What if
they picked three or eight? I pick the
entire thing up and flip it over and I
say, "I knew you were going to pick that
one." It said it right on the back the
entire time. What if they picked four or
seven? In that case, they're going to
end up with the star. And these cards
have been sitting on the table the
entire time. And you remind them, look,
it's a regular deck. I showed you that
before. But hand the cards to them. Say,
"Look through the backs of the cards."
And they'll look at them, say, "Notice
there's only one card. One out of all
these cards that has a message on it.
There it is. Out of all the cards, and
it says, "You will pick the star." And
they pick five or six. They're going to
end up with the triangle. And that one
is right inside the box. So, you have to
be careful when you pick the box up that
you don't flash that there's something
written on the back. You pick the box
up, open it, show them, look, there's
been a message inside here the entire
time. Only one piece of paper in there,
nothing else. And that message says that
you will pick the triangle. It's got a
triangle on the back.
