Craftmade Phoenix 52" Ceiling Fan

Hey everybody, welcome back.
This is something a little bit more modern, a little bit newer than my taste, but still
something that I figured I'd feature.
This is the fourth of four ceiling fans that I got for free back on Sunday, along with
the two Hunters and that Concord.
This is a Craftmade Phoenix ceiling fan, 52 inch.
And yeah, this was one of the ones, I knew about this one, and I didn't really know too
much about this one.
I still don't really know that much about it, but like I said, it's a bit more, a bit
modern for me.
It's in this really nice sand finish, it's like a, almost like Casablanca's Navajo white,
but I think it's a little bit darker, a little more off-white.
And it is textured, it's really nice.
I like the blade badges, they're these sort of almost flowery, tulip-looking blade badges.
And the blade arms themselves are the regular crescent shape, like on the Beverly Hills
Fan Company, some other Craftmade models, I'll show them to you in a second.
I do believe those are bleached oak blades, they're reversible from plain white to bleached
oak.
And yeah, it has this really interesting light kit, or light globe, bowl light kit with this
light globe that's got these three tiers, sort of, and you can't really see it because
I've got the light on, but it's got this really cool, like, swirled, marbled, sort of a draping
pattern that's really neat.
It's like symmetrical all around, and I'll show that to you, of course, in a minute.
And you can probably see it better when the light kit is off, but it came with three incandescent
light bulbs in there, I think G40, I think they are, globe light bulbs.
And yeah, still working, which is a nice touch.
It also came with those pull chain extensions you see there.
And yeah, I'm not sure when this one would be from, probably the early 2000s, it does
have the later Craftmade logo on the side of the nose, which I'll also show to you after
testing.
Yeah, also these can be mounted with four or five blades, it's four or five blade adaptable.
I may possibly show it in four blades if the demand is high, but I don't know, you'll have
to take the whole thing down, or take all the blades off, take the light kit off and
everything, so, I don't know, we'll see.
Yeah, I haven't checked the label on top either, so that may give us the date later when we
check that after testing, but anyway, what to say about it, 350, and this one did come
with its mounting bracket, but I just reused the same mounting bracket that was from the
Concorde, because it fits, it's the same generic 90s, 2000s era bracket with the screws on
the bottom face.
So as you can see, it absolutely flies.
For a modern-ish fan, I am quite impressed by its performance, a lot of air, a little
bit of wobble, I did have to balance it again, there's still, I think, a blade that's still
a little bent downwards a bit that I need to fix, but the wobble's not as bad as it
was, certainly not a death wobble, and yeah, it flies.
I don't know what size motor this one has, probably pretty large.
And this is actually the first Craftmade fan I've ever tested.
I never really was like a huge fan of Craftmade, I just, you know, I always thought they were
more so like builder fans, you know, you see the decoratives everywhere, they do have some
quality behind them.
Of course, this is probably a bit higher-end model, obviously more so than the decoratives,
those are just builders.
Turn the light off, don't know why I left it on, but now you can see the really pretty,
it's almost like a pink sort of pattern along the globe, you can see there.
So medium speed, it's pretty fast, but pretty standard, I'd say, moving a lot of air still.
And low, and on low it wobbles just enough to shake the pull chains around.
Again, a pretty fast low, and that is quite fast.
I would put this one on speed control.
High, this time you get to see it on high without the light kit.
This is the condensate pump going off, take a minute for that to turn off.
Spin down, and we got a new condensate pump in addition to our new gas furnace.
And we got a new, I think a humidifier?
We had one at our old house, like one of those Aprilaire units, this one's of course much
newer, like brand new.
And they gave us a new condensate pump, which this one is a lot louder than the one we used
to have.
The one that we used to have wasn't even that old, it was only like a few years old.
I guess they just ripped everything out, they redid the whole setup over there.
But anyway, back to the fan.
I don't remember if I've seen these in person anywhere.
I mean, they look kind of familiar.
They're kind of like a Berkley knockoff almost.
Maybe not a knockoff, but similar design to the Berkley with that round motor housing
except for those vents.
Okay, wasn't too bad of a spin down.
All right, now I gotta find the reverse switch.
Here's some light, what that is.
Reverse, let's see, hello reverse.
And the furnace shuts off just in time.
Let's test the fan in reverse.
There's like a slight, slight bit of a wet bearing noise, but other than that it's
totally silent.
New motor home.
Medium reverse.
And now it's making dry bearing noise for some reason.
And fire reverse.
I think the wobble is just a bit better.
Still not perfectly balanced, but it's better than it was in forward.
Still absolutely whipping.
Now, up close view, so there's that really interesting globe.
I'm not a huge fan of bowl light kits typically, but this globe is really interesting.
You can see like the tears and this like swooping, draping pattern with the pink marbling.
Causes a really interesting effect from below.
I'll turn the light on for you too so you can see.
Yeah, very neat.
Very contemporary, I'd say.
Yeah, the really nice sand finish as you can see, textured.
The blade arms, the badges have it too.
There's this neat badges.
These bleached oak blades.
And show you the craft made sticker on the nose right here.
A newer logo.
The older one from the 90s would have had like the big bubble letters.
Light kit and the light kit itself and the bulbs.
They're a candelabra base.
Again, G40, I'm pretty sure that's what those are.
On top here is the motor housing.
And then the blade arms, the other side, the actual blade arms themselves.
Which I said were the, again, the crescent shape.
But Beverly Hills Fan Company, Modern Fan Company used that shape on a lot of their models.
And so did, obviously, Craftmade did on other of their models.
But the top plate has the same venting as the bottom.
These kind of italicized builder vents.
Or swirled builder vents, I guess.
Um, where's the...
I guess there is no informations.
Interesting.
Unless it's on top of the...
No, it's not.
Okay, well, I don't know when it's from.
I don't know the model number either.
But, uh, again, like the Art Nouveau.
It might have been up here and somebody might have peeled it off.
But, uh, yeah.
I don't...
I'm pretty sure this light kit is aftermarket.
I don't think...
Or maybe it might be Craftmade.
I don't know.
Who knows.
I'm not a Craftmade expert.
So, actually, you know what?
I did just realize.
I think it is because it's got the same finish on the finial here.
The same sand finish.
So I take that back.
I think that is a genuine light kit.
Um, very neat.
Okay, that actually makes me like the fan a little bit better.
Um, so, yeah.
Um, I don't know what else there's to say about it.
Um, and then just one last message.
I know this is probably going to be the last fan video.
Probably the last video itself, uh, of the...
of 2025.
Oh, I'm drifting away again.
Um, and I know it's...
It's not like the most interesting or most, like, unique fan to end the year on.
Uh, but it is just, you know, something to put out there.
Um, I hope you all have a very happy new year.
I...
Again, I do still have the, um, year in review video to put out.
And my top five smoke detector finds of the year video to put out.
Um, the top five video will probably come out tomorrow.
Um, year in review probably a little bit later.
Um, I just gotta find time to finish it.
And then I work tomorrow as well, so gotta get around that.
Um, but, yeah.
Again, I hope you guys have an excellent and healthy 2026.
Um, and, yeah.
I hope to see you guys a lot in the new year.
And thank you guys for watching.
Again, as always, I'll see you in the next video.
